The following types of facing bricks can be distinguished:
- ceramic brick (solid or with voids), can be smooth or textured, matte, imitating stone or other materials, painted in bulk, engobe or glazed;
- Clinker brick of a wide range of colors and different textures, has high strength and wear resistance, dense structure, high frost resistance, is used for the socle, door and window openings, they can even pave paths, the disadvantage is the high thermal conductivity;
- hyperpressed brick is created by pressing under high pressure without burning, has a torn stone-like chip, looks like a natural stone, and is easy to process, wear-resistant, frost-resistant, durable, with high-precision geometry, but high density reduces thermal efficiency;
- silicate brick as a facing is no longer used, it is inexpensive, but not too aesthetic;
