Having gained recognition (and for many the words “Huskvarna” and “chainsaw” are almost synonymous), one has to accept the increased demands of users: that they will forgive a little-known Chinese brand, they will surely recall the famous Swedish company.

For the 236th model, “brand-name diseases” have become two - firstly, constantly leaking oil (most owners either change it to a thicker one, or pour it into storage), and secondly, often marked ignition failures.The first cannot be called such a serious drawback for a model from a practically budget segment, if we recall the same “Shtili”, where, although there is an oil pump, which does not allow oil to flow onto the tire on a muffled engine, but its drive worm is made of soft plastic regularly, when the ubiquitous sawdust get to the mechanism, but the failure of ignition can seriously spoil the pleasure of buying "branded" things.

But enough about the sad - the saw is still not bad. With a power of 1.9 hp She confidently copes with the majority of everyday tasks, and the 40-centimeter tire is very bad for an amateur chainsaw. Vibrations on the arms are tolerable, but I would like to add to them also a more effective silencer: 116 passport decibels when working under heavy loads hit the ears too hard.

The most expensive chainsaw in our rating of amateur equipment has become famous for a huge number of Chinese fakes on the market, so we don’t recommend it to a с off hand ’to an unintelligible person, the only guarantee of quality is buying a new one at an authorized store.

I liked “Stiel” in my work - moderately heavy, fairly quiet, with a low level of vibrations. The carburetor is not particularly successful - depending on the setting, the saw is either hard to start on the hot one, or on the cold, “middle ground” in the adjustment, it is difficult to find.

The MS 170 chainsaw is equipped with an automatic lubrication system (yes, that one). On the one hand, it is convenient: the oil does not leak during storage and transportation, the flow can be adjusted. On the other hand, the decision of the manufacturer to make the oil pump drive from the crankshaft with a plastic worm cannot be considered optimal: the worm wears out quickly at high speeds, and to replace it, you need to remove both the manual starter and the centrifugal clutch, after passing oil on the oil. Plus, fine wood dust actively clogs the space under the casing, sometimes managing to contaminate even the oil channel, so the rule “Drank-clean” for Stihl should be mandatory. The gas tank and the oil tank here, by the way, are the smallest of all the models in the rating.

Compact and lightweight (weight - 3.8 kg, while in most amateur models it is higher than 4) the saw from a well-respected brand could not be ignored in our ranking of the best popular chainsaws. Moreover, the saw unit is not bad here - the length is 35 cm, the Oregon chain is installed from the factory, everything is the same as for Alpina. However, on closer examination, you can remember the unkind word of the developers of the chain tension knot - it doesn’t inspire confidence in the appearance that some owners have checked on their experience, who have been breaking it from excessive tightening efforts. A small motor (32 cubes) with a power of a little more than one and a half "horses" cheerfully spins up, compensating for the lack of power with speed.

What exactly few people will like is the absence of the usual fuel pumping on the carburetor: it will not work to start a new or lying saw on the shelf without dancing with a tambourine: either long and hard to pull the starter, or, remembering childhood and the then way to drive a little more on the “dried out” moped, blow into the gas tank. When working, it will open up and insufficient development of the air filter, which lets in too much dust at the inlet - it definitely needs to be refined.

Korean chainsaw primarily pleased with the price: for 3.5 hp power is a little, most of the "branded" saws for the money - low-power amateur. The motor really works perfectly and "pulls" any load.

The volume of the gas tank is half a liter, given the decent economy this is quite enough, and just at the time of refueling, you will want to take a break and let the saw rest itself. Inside the motor, not a cast-iron sleeve was found, but a nickle coating: it is both lower friction losses and less risk of seizure during overheating (the difference in thermal expansion of the piston and cylinder is smaller). The reverse side of the medal is the need to monitor the condition of the air filter: scuffs in the piston nickle box are not repairable, if the master's cast iron cylinders manage to bore by selecting a larger diameter piston, then only a replacement is possible.

To access the air filter or turn on the "winter" mode of heating the carburetor, no tool is required - this is also a plus in the Daewoo box.

Of the minuses, note the weight: complete with a chain and a tire, it has passed over 6 kg.

The model was controversial: on the one hand, it has sufficient power (3.1 hp), the chainsaw proved to be comfortable and reliable in operation, but on the other, the tire is 35 (40 or 40 cm) closer to amateur models, sometimes these 10-15 cm to the standard in the class of half a meter may not be enough.

Among the interesting moments, we note an automatic brake, which instantly stops the chain during a strong jerk, a carburetor with a balanced float chamber, which does not react so strongly to the clogging of the filter by “floating away” the composition of the mixture. As additional options, the manufacturer offers a chain-tightening system without a tool (out of the box, a screwdriver is needed, the tensioner itself, by the way, is not particularly convenient), the elastic damper of the starting device (the cable jerks are really smoothing)

In winter, you can turn on a special heating mode - in this case, the air from the cooling impeller is directed to the carburetor, preventing it from frosting. Switching is performed with a conventional screwdriver, does not take much time.

What did not like? First, the noise: passport 114 dB make themselves felt. Secondly, the starting device: a cold motor can be started with one or two jerks, only very well getting used to a particular saw. There is not enough manual fuel injection, two and in the gas tank would not be superfluous level control.

This chainsaw is already closer to the professional, if it were not for one “but” - the maximum tire length with which the model 361-16 is completed is 45 centimeters. Although the power of 4.6 hp unequivocally promises the opportunity to cut down timber, tires for this is not enough.

The cylinder with a four-channel purge (which has a noticeable and positive effect on power, because its volume is only 52 “cubes”) is equipped with a decompressor, which makes it easier to start. After a slight warm-up, you can be sure of the effectiveness of vibration damping ... but also complain about the noise: 115 dB will be forced to work in headphones if you often have to open the gas "to the full".

Most of all, the saw didn’t like its price - almost two times higher than that of the MS 250, and in fact they are very close in design. Are extra 5 centimeters of tire and one and a half horse worth such money? The question is very controversial.

Again, “Calm” in its role - on the one hand, as if to compensate for the short tires of the semi-professional series, a 90-centimeter tire was installed here (indeed, a real pilomech), on the other hand, the saw sharply became “fat” up to 10 kilograms, almost twice overtaking Husqvarna at a price. Moreover, the manufacturer indicates this figure without tires and chains.

Of course, when felling the forest, it will show itself - here there is a use for almost a meter tire and a motor with a power of 8.7 hp. But the versatility and price of a chainsaw is clearly losing to many competitors, much more affordable. Will this compensate for the resource? The question remains open, to assert about the total superiority of Stihl in reliability, we will not.
