Top 10 motoblocks
Having your own farm, it is difficult to do without mechanical “helpers” - even a low-powered walk-up tractor can ease a lot of work, and in a very unusual way: for example, by installing a pump on a power take-off shaft, you can quickly pump water from a well or, on the contrary, drain ditches or caissons. It is not surprising that in the villages one can often see the craziest constructions, which, following the example of the Warhamer orcs, gather literally from what was superfluous at hand.
However, today we will not understand how to assemble a walk-behind tractor, but what can and should be bought in stores in 2019.
How was the ranking of the best motoblocks
First of all, we note that we do not pursue advertising goals. All units proposed for your consideration were selected impartially, according to the principle - “as for myself”.
Criterias of choice:
- Opinion of the owners devices was taken into account in the first place. We felt that this was the surest way to get an answer to the question: “What a good walker, and which one is better to pass by in the store?”. Faith practitioners are more than salespeople. But there is another side of the coin - according to the owners, only the fairly common and popular petrol and diesel tillers had a chance to get into the top rankings, and high-quality new products could go unnoticed. How did we do? See next item.
- Study of technical specifications allowed to identify the monoblocks, already available on the market of agricultural machinery in Russia, but which are still little used by citizens. In such cases, we monitored similar products of the company, for which there are already reviews and extrapolated the result to the described model. That is, in practice, they estimated the reputation that the company earned for itself earlier. In addition, reviews were analyzed on foreign sites.
- Functionality and price - the assessment of this duet of parameters allowed to exclude motorblocks from the TOP, which “do not fit” in modern Russian realities, namely models with a cost comparable to the price of a new car, but with a completely normal functional set.
- Availability of purchase - it makes no sense to describe the walker, which is impossible to buy in our country. For such products there are foreign catalogs.
For easy classification, tillers can be divided into the following groups:
- Light tillers have motors with a capacity of no more than 4-5 horsepower, most often a motor transmission and at the same time coupling them is a V-belt transmission. The main purpose is to work with cutters, the additional linkage is connected with the second belt, if there are several streams on the drive pulley. They will not pull a large load in the form of a plow even with weighting compounds, they will overheat on heavy soil. Such a walk-behind tractor is a good choice for a small farm where a serious cultivator is needed, but hard work in large quantities is not expected.
- Medium tillers already more powerful and heavier. In this class, you can find not only models with a multi-stage transmission and reverse, but also diesel models, which are even more expensive, but with frequent use it is more profitable in terms of fuel consumption. Motor transmission is often direct - and this makes it possible to connect an active linkage to the power take-off shaft.
- Heavy tillers fully justify their name - their weight exceeds 150 kilograms (and even rolls over 3 centners, like the Profi PR 1040E and his classmates), so they can pull a plow without additional weighting, transport loaded carts - and 10-13 liters motors. with.do an excellent job with this load. Given the size and weight of such devices, a differential appears in the transmission - it will no longer be possible to deploy such equipment on one wheel like light tillers. Often you can meet and downshift in the gearbox.

The best light cheap gasoline tillers
47 600
In the category of the best lightweight gasoline tillers, the Neva MB-1B-6.0FS wins. The brand with a renewed “heart” that has been familiar for a long time is good because it does not deliver problems with the maintenance of the transmission - all parts are available in stores, and the walker itself is well known, so if necessary you can find the “Kulibina” next door. According to the Soviet tradition, this series of motoblocks has been produced in the form of appendage at a defense enterprise - Leningrad “Red October” since 1984. The sample now offered, fortunately, got rid of the unreliable domestic engine and is completed with the proven Briggs & Stratton RS950 petrol engine. From its 208 cm3, it gives out 6 hp, which for a light-duty motor-block (although in terms of weight the Neva is already closer to the average — 75 kg) is quite good. Although the engines of the American brand are assembled in China, there are no complaints about their quality - this is confirmed by the owners and the resource tests of specialized publications: for 250 hours of work under nominal load, the motor showed no trace of wear, maintaining power and torque without loss. The MultiAGRO transmission installed on the walk-behind tractor is a three-stage transmission with reverse gear. In addition, in a motor transmission both pulleys are two-legged, so that the gear ratios in all gears can be varied by a motor transmission. Therefore, it can be safely used with mills on soils of varying severity, having precisely set the necessary turns, to transport the cart without problems with maneuvering - the walk-behind tractor was affordable and versatile, all you need to do is to install “differentials” (split freewheels) on the axis, if you intend to work with frequent reversals. And, of course, you can put the drive belt of the front active linkage on the two-pulley pulley, the manufacturer provided for the benefit and the mountings, and the accessories themselves. The gear shift is based on the steering wheel, and the lever moves with it when adjusting the height - and often on more expensive models, tall people have to reach down for the lever. For thoughtful ergonomics "Neva" also deserves a plus. Another advantage in terms of convenience - is the presence of headlights. Main advantages:

Neva is the best low-cost motoblock, a real workhorse, with timely maintenance of the motor does not cause problems season after season. The chain, however, stretches quickly - but I also plow and drag it to the cart. |
33 600
The cheapest and easiest (52 kg) in our rating motoblock on the characteristics of the engine - the twin brother MKM-3-DK7, transmission is also similar (two forward, one back). But here the convenience of maneuvers is leveled out by the impracticability of the out-of-the-way tiller — when buying a budget-mounted seven-track tiller, the owner will obviously use it in heavy work, so we will have to put weights on it right away, and the full circuit in the gearbox should be replaced with a stronger one. The tiller has the ability to install the front active linkage, but, again, "native" - for products from other manufacturers will need a transition bracket. The main complaint about the tiller is that when adjusting the position of the steering wheel, the gearshift lever remains in place, during operation you have to reach for it. In general, for my money, the motoblock is not bad, although I would very much like to see, if not a branded engine, then something more decent than the established Chinese “nouneyma”, at least the same Lifan. Further in our ranking - a walker with an American passport, but narrow eyes - he is going, of course, all in the same China. Specifically, this modification is equipped with a six-strong 205-cubed Briggs & Stratton Intek I / C, which, in our opinion, is better than the proposed Subaru-Robin and Lifan. Its advantages are an effective air filter, which, in the case of the usual work of a motor-block in dust, has a very strong effect on the resource, double ball bearings on the crankshaft, cylinder liner from high-quality cast iron. At the same time, the motor has a simple gear drive of the lower camshaft, and not an over-wrought chain - the top one, as in the “Subarovskiy” engine. And simplicity is also a potential plus to reliability, and disassembly-assembly is much faster. "Lifanovsky" the motor significantly weaker pulls, and noticeably loses on the resource. Therefore, the choice of a complete set with a B & S engine will definitely become the most correct, in our opinion. Transmission at the motoblock has three speeds of the forward course and one - back. The very thing for this type of tiller - here you have a low first for good traction, and a more or less decent speed at the third, if you go somewhere with an empty cart. Well, on the way back you can turn on the second speed. Coupling - dry, reducer - gear. In general, we can give our recommendation. Main advantages:

I really liked it - the assembly is decent, the motor pulls well for the second one for two hundred cubes. |
At present, an interesting offer: reasonable price, good weight (86 kg), which does not complicate the transportation, but also provides sufficient load on the wheels to do without the necessary amplifiers - they will be needed only for hard work. The engine here is installed its own production, Daewoo DAT 225th series. It gives out 8 horsepower with good torque at low revs. Reliability he has more than decent, the engine came out very successful. True, it is not very convenient to maintain it, as many tillers “get sick” - as always, it brings the location of the drain plug. Gearbox - gear, in cast iron crankcase. Well, and since the motor has good power, and the gearbox is not deprived of durability, then the complete cutters inspire - they can be installed up to eight pieces, so everything is fine with the performance here. Of course, to reduce the cost of the manufacturer went to a number of victims. First of all, it is, naturally, the transfer of production to China. But, fortunately, it practically did not affect reliability. Is that the fastener fastener before the start of operation is still worth checking out if the store did not make a pre-sale, but pour oil. The gearbox is simple here - two speeds ahead, two back, although the engine could work with a large number of gears in the transmission. Well, the motor transmission here, of course, is the simplest - a V-belt, and not a direct transmission through a dry clutch. The drive pulley of the motor has a “spare” stream for connecting the front active linkage, there is no rear PTO shaft. Main advantages:

If it were not for the average build quality, which the Chinese "Champions" have long known, this walk-behind tractor could claim big score points. It was conceived as it should - a longitudinal nine-power G270HK engine, which, moreover, can easily reach the valves and spark plugs, dry clutch, rear power take-off shaft, durable crankcase box and gearbox. The weight of the tiller is 147 kg. This is exactly where the “ponizhayka” wouldn't hurt - turn on and hook the plow, but, alas, the usual gearbox is “two forward, one backward”. The motor is well-designed, it even has an oil wiper cap on the intake valve - a rare thing for engines of this class, especially Chinese ones. It is convenient to regulate the valve; we do not have any special complaints regarding the CPG resource - it is quite average. And even the drain plug - lo and behold! - located where it is convenient to bring the tank to drain the mining. All is well? Then let's add a fly in the ointment. The quality of fasteners is expectedly low - wherever possible (but not always necessary), they put cheap syromyatin. Keep this in mind and do not be zealous with tightening. Spiral-bevel gears in the gearbox from the factory are often poorly adjusted - not without reason, even in the operating instructions there is a separate section describing the procedure for adjusting the gap. And it is configured with shims, which still try to find. So, whatever one may say, this motoblock is clearly designed for a handy owner, who can tinker with the equipment, if not for pleasure, then at least for not a burden. Main advantages:

This tiller, like the CRAFTSMAN 24030B, is equipped with a Briggs & Stratton Intek engine, but with a slightly more powerful 6.5 hp. However, the layout here is completely different - the engine is transverse, the drive to the gearbox is started up with a belt. Gearbox, alas, chain. At the same time, the price is slightly lower than the “Kraftsman”, which is much more reliable and has a full-fledged power take-off shaft for the rear linkage. However, if you already have an active front linkage, designed to drive from the engine pulley, then, naturally, it is more interesting to have the tiller-mounted tillers. The main complaint about the “Oka” in recent years is precisely to the gearbox - the oil leaks, the bearings are weak (there is a backlash on the shaft). At the same time, it is easy to treat this if there are properly grown hands, therefore we reasonably blame the plant for its practically “soviet” attitude towards the buyer. But, while the “Oka” was still called MB-1, this walker had a good reputation. Main advantages:

The class of tillers with a separate wheel axle is not so widespread - usually both wheels and cutters are mounted on the same axis, although it is really more convenient to work with a two-axle tiller. Alas, you have to pay for convenience literally, and the price of Mobile K Ghepard CH395 clearly indicates this. Although a separate drive is not the only “trick” of the model: here you can find a transmission with 4 front and 3 rear speeds, and a 10-horsepower Kohler gasoline engine with a forged steel crankshaft and a full-iron cylinder, and a full-lockable differential.Such a strange transmission device was invented for good reason - the steering wheel can turn 180 degrees, so that the front and rear of the motor-block will change places, and the same power take-off shaft will be able to work from the front and from the rear linkage. The cutter drive module itself is also a mounted unit mounted on the power shaft. The remaining modules are optional and purchased separately, the specific horizontal layout clearly indicates incompatibility with most common devices, with the exception of pumps. But with a complete set this motoblock works as a snow blower, and mows the grass, and even sweeps asphalt. Main advantages:

The best average diesel tillers
72 700
The failure of the lightweight Aurora compensates on average - the diesel model presented by the company at its affordable price and good build quality will interest many. Although the engine power is small - 5.4 hp - but its high torque at low revs allows the 147-kilogram motoblock to confidently pull the plow or, moreover, the excavator. The engine is equipped with an electric starter, but thanks to the decompressor, it is easy to start up with a cable. With a two-stage gearbox, the diesel engine is connected by a dry clutch, the power take-off shaft, hidden behind a protective metal cap, is pulled back. Gearbox - gear, in a robust cast iron crankcase. Of course, low power somewhat limits the functionality of the motoblock, but the toughness and literally drip fuel consumption pay for it in traditional applications - plowing, cultivating the soil. Here it is extremely inconvenient to maneuver with it - heavy and clumsy, it is deprived not only of the differential, but also of the simplest freewheel clutches. Main advantages:

The best heavy gasoline tillers
96 000
The winner of our ranking of the best heavy motoblocks, Minsk Belarus 09N-01, is far from new: the “ninth” family has been produced since 1992, so that all its “childhood diseases” are either eliminated or ways to eliminate them are well known. Specifically, this modification uses the original Honda gasoline engine, and not its Chinese clone - let it be noisy and not the most economical, but it has proven to be unpretentious and reliable. The motorblock has a transmission with a reduced number (4 forward - 2 back) and can develop traction up to 100 kgf. The gearbox is equipped with a differential with the possibility of forced locking, behind the gearbox you can see the PTO shaft. In its essence, it embodies what we value in the Belarusian technique - simple in design and well-assembled, it was created in order to work, and not show off on advertising posters. We will lower the score in the tillering block, except for the inconvenient weight distribution. Main advantages:

The best heavy diesel tillers
68 290
The 164-pound tiller is equipped with a 9-horsepower diesel engine and will become an indispensable tool for plowing where the use of a tractor is not justified - given the affordable price, you can forgive Asian origin. The gearbox has only two speeds, and the gear ratios on both are low - it pulls up the plow on heavy ground quite confidently, especially if you replace the regular pneumatic wheels with metal ones with powerful ground lugs. Even with regular cutters in a single pass, the tiller captures the 125-centimeter lane, but its capabilities are clearly not limited to this — this is indicated by the engine thrust and the strength of the transmission. The Chinese diesel motoblock received rather high marks from users - it is economical, moderately noisy, and with proper maintenance it is able to work for many seasons. Main advantages:

Take the BC1193 already described above and replace the gasoline engine with a diesel engine - that’s what the motoblock will be like. Of course, the combination of the Champion D420-1HK diesel engine with a solid weight of 177 kg already makes it possible to consider the walk-behind tractor a full-fledged “weight”, but, alas, it still turns out to be “at the bottom” of the rating of the best walk-behind tractor. Let's start with the fact that the gearbox has not changed - all the same "2 +1". And after all it is on a diesel heavy motoblock it is desirable to have more speed, otherwise either thrust at low is not enough, or speed at high. The reduced number for this class can generally be considered the norm, and it is a pity that it is not here. The gearbox also remained the same, that is, the wheels are still rigidly fixed on the same axis. As a result, it is already thoroughly uncomfortable to maneuver - a heavy walk-behind tractor stubbornly does not want to turn, it is hard here without a differential. Of course, in the end, the walker came out is not the most expensive, but the payback for this savings, from our point of view, is too big. Therefore - definitely the last place in the ranking. For my money, the walker suits me: diesel eats a bit, pulls like a tractor. That is to turn, of course, hell, especially on tillage. |
How to choose the best walk-behind tractor?
Start with engine - if you choose gasoline tiller, then the priority will be branded nizhnevalnye motors (Honda GX, Briggs & Stratton, Subaru-Robin), Subaru upper motors are also not bad, but more difficult to maintain; cheap, but quite reliable Chinese clones - Lifan, Kipor. If the issue of price is acute, then you will have to choose from a complete Chinese “nouneym”, which either has no marking at all, or is already marked by an assembly company under its own name.
Diesel walking tractor it is better to choose if there is a large amount of hard work to be done, since they have higher torque, longer life and lower fuel consumption. The overwhelming majority of models available in our market are equipped with “purely Chinese” engines, but Japanese “roots” are again evident in the engines Lifan and Kipor.
As for motor transmission the choice is only in the middle class: light tillers except for a few rare models have a belt drive, while the heavy ones only have a straight with a disc clutch. For an average motoblock, the best choice would be a direct one, but there are also many successful models using straps of common sizes: if there is no fundamental need to install a rear linkage on the power take-off shaft, then this motoblock will be more advantageous in price.
As for gearbox, there are three options:
- Chain- the cheapest and easiest, but the chain will stretch over time and will require replacement, and for this you will have to disassemble the "leg" of the motor-block. On cheap Chinese motorblocks, it is better to replace it with a domestic counterpart right away.
- Worm the gearbox is durable and compact, but its main drawback is that in the absence of a free wheel, such a walker can not be rolled, when squeezing the clutch, the wheels immediately “get a stake”. It is possible to use tillers with such gears only for plowing; it is simply dangerous to transport goods on a cart on the roads.
- Gear wheel the gearbox is the most expensive, because in its “leg” there is a whole set of gears, and in the case for them there are exactly bored seats. But in its operation it is sufficient to maintain the desired level of gear oil.
Some tillers use combined circuits, for example, gear-chain gearboxes (the chain is stretched along the body to do without expensive gear set, but ends with a downward gear pair that unloads the chain and reduces its wear) or a combination of gear wheel drive and worm gear - a separate exit to the milling cutters . But it is rather exotic, common models are based on traditional kinematics.
Tip: if there is an opportunity, before purchase, inspect the main components of the tiller, visually assess the quality of the assembly and coating. Sometimes an unfinished bolt will help to learn more about the reliability of the device than a pile of studied literature.
Happy shopping and a rich harvest!
