In order to eliminate the discharge of air in the room (since mobile air conditioners take air from the room and throw it out), I attached a pipe to the intake grille, which I brought to the street. Thus increased the efficiency of the air conditioner. Just wrapped the pipe exhaust hot air blanket 4 times - the noise is significantly reduced.
Perhaps it would be easier to put a split system, you say, but I live in a rented apartment, so for me this is true.
