I chose the player to listen to audiobooks. For this purpose, it fits almost perfectly:
- Long time work. Up to 20 hours he did not reach, but worked for 19 hours. I want to note that this time is achieved when the screen brightness is 1, the screen off time is 15 seconds. and volume 10 with the equalizer and bass turned off. I repeat, for audiobooks, this mode of operation is perfect.
- Screen. I was looking for a player with a small screen, only to be able to select a folder and write to it (for the case when there are several audiobooks on the player so that the recordings are not messed up). This screen is quite enough for my purposes.
- He remembers the place where he stopped, and begins with his subsequent playback.
- Many complain about the curved menu. I do not know, in my opinion the menu is ordinary, simple, intuitive. At least I didn’t even have a thought, read the instructions to deal with the menu. Everything is perfectly versed by the method of scientific spear)
- Functions. I was looking for a player, respectively, any nonsense such as games, pictures, video (it’s on the display 2-3 inches, three ha ha in your direction) I don’t need. I decided not to cling to the presence of the radio - although the news will be available in case of anything.
- Design. As a girl I can not get around this topic. Yes, he is beautiful. This is absolutely not the main thing, but as an addition to the characteristics that I needed and arranged for me, it is nice) I didn’t deny myself the pleasure of finding gold, gold still suits almost any clothes) But the Philips SHO2200 headphones are not very good fit him :-)
- Memory. The only thing that confused me. Nevertheless, 4 GB is not enough. But I realized that you can fill as many books with 4 GB as it does in one charge.

- Surprisingly, in the design of the new model there is a regression. The buttons are inconvenient, both in size and location (although in the players of other manufacturers I found options even more delusional).
- The metal case doesn’t need a player (the plastic was quite strong), but a metal circle with buttons would not hurt.
- The screen has become smaller, respectively, and the letters too, although the dimensions of the player are the same.
- When playing music, there was a rather strong hiss in the background, and in any headphones, especially felt on the volume from 6 to 15. Above, the music just interrupted this noise. The store said that this is not a defect. Normally so ... But still changed to another player.
- Build quality is far from perfect. The headphone jack is crooked, the piece of iron in the cap is loose and rattling, and the back wall inside the cap is heavily scratched. I don’t know what the Chinese did to him there ... And it was a player with which I replaced the previous one with a sound defect.
- The battery charge is much faster than the specified. In order for the player to last 20 hours, you probably need to turn off everything, including the sound. Sony b143f held a better charge, even after several years of operation.
- In this case, the automatic shutdown of the player is triggered after 30 minutes of inactivity, after completion of the reproduction of the folder.
- The sound quality is generally the same as on cheaper brands.
- And finally. Packaging - insanity. Packing it back without special training is problematic.
Once took, I will not take the money. But most of the degraded Sony products will most likely not be bought.

I bought this player to listen to music in the car via AUX. Subjectively, it sounds better than my Iphone 4S, compared only through standard acoustics (CD-400), because I took it for these purposes. In our age of disposable things, Sony is pleased with the quality of assembly and materials, which is rare at a small price to the same. Grieves the inability to charge from the cigarette lighter while listening to music. Although the battery is quite tenacious, the player is now lying in the car for three nights and remained alive.
