Alpine Air NGS-50F Reviews

Evaluation 5
Advantages: Automatic and non-volatile work, optimum price, good efficiency.
Disadvantages: Inconvenient hatch with controls.
Comment: The summer season is opening up, which means for many “summer house owners” the question will again and again be: what to drown? There are usually two standard solutions: a wood stove and electric heaters. Both options have different advantages and disadvantages, about which the majority have heard. But there is a third option - to burn with gas. And most often by bottled gas, since natural gas for an average summer resident is a difficult dream.
About gas convectors in our country know, as it turns out, very few. And they are usually confused with the so-called gas fireplaces (black "bedside table" with a balloon inside and a triple IR emitting panel). So I want to fill this annoying information gap.
So, we have a metal thing that looks like a "swollen" central heating radiator. An approximately half-meter horizontal pipe emerges from the rear side to take in air into the combustion chamber and remove combustion products. One pipe inside another. The device is quite heavy, since the main heat exchanger is cast from cast iron. The manufacturer promises that the convector will serve at least 50 years. Let's try to believe it.
The line of the same type of convectors differs in the heat exchanger size, size, weight and price. There are options with and without auxiliary fan. Heating power of different models from 2.5 kW to 5.

Initially, the device is designed to use natural gas. To switch to liquefied gas, you need to buy a special set of jets. You can change them yourself, but if there is no certainty, then it is better to hire a specialist. My friends during this procedure of inexperience damaged a spark-plug.

To install the convector in the wall of the house on the pattern you need to cut a fairly large hole under the pipe. Additional thermal insulation is NOT REQUIRED, since the convector itself has a thermally insulated base, and the pipe does not heat up to any dangerous temperature.
The control of the convector is extremely simple: open the gas cylinder valve, put the device regulator in the "ignition" position, press it and press the piezo button. After 5 seconds of burning, release the regulator and turn it to the desired temperature value. Further burning occurs in auto mode.

Advertising on the Internet promises, as a rule, the extraordinary efficiency of these devices compared to the same electric heaters. From my own experience I can say for sure that saving money at current prices and tariffs DOES NOT EXCEED 20-25%. Rapid heating of the room, even in the case of an additional fan, also fails. Still, this is not a heat gun, but a convector, working in accordance with the laws of physics.
When calculating the power of the convector at the time of purchase: in the case of summer typical houses, it is necessary to proceed approximately from the ratio of 1.2 kW per 10 sq. M. m rooms.
If the house is heated in winter, it is better to have a gas cylinder inside the room, because otherwise 10% of frost or even 20 gas will simply not evaporate.
Of the minuses of the device, I note only a very narrow and inconvenient window with a regulator and a pilot button. Therefore, the cover from this window had to be removed.
Of undoubted advantages - non-volatility and automatic power control (the main burner is turned on by a signal from a mechanical thermostat).

Kachestovo device - on the top five with a small minus.

The price is quite optimal.

And another piece of advice: it is certainly possible to heat such a large multi-room house with such convectors, but once again it is worth considering whether or not to install a gas boiler with batteries instead. In this case, you will need only one gas supply and a hole in the wall under the pipe. In terms of efficiency, gas convectors and modern boilers are exactly the same. Cash costs will also not be very different.
And one more thing. If you still get lucky, and the gas will be carried out, then there may be considerable difficulty in connecting these convectors to the system due to regulatory documents in which this type of instrument may simply not be spelled out.
