Advantages: Convenience, foldable design, design, sound intelligibility and detail

Comment: If you used to listen to music in headphones with an accentuated bass (low-end sony, pioneer) or with a high compressed (akg) - then you probably will not like the sound of Audio-Technica. Looking at the frequency response shows that the entire low-frequency range is below -3dB, at 250Hz pit to -10dB. The curve equals zero only at 400Hz and starts to rise to + 7dB at 4kHz, again the pit at 5kHz again to -10dB. A sharp jump and at the peak of 7kHz we have an amplitude of + 10dB. Describe the curve above 10kHz does not allow me a small frequency range of the microphone. But subjectively by ear, somewhere in the region of + 6dB or higher. The manufacturer positions the model as a studio. But it is debatable. On the one hand, good detailing of medium-high and high-high frequencies due to the dynamic discharge at 5kHz and an emphasis at 7kHz. On the other hand, the almost complete absence of low-mid and medium frequencies. Quite a strange circumstance, given the promises of the manufacturer - the detail of the middle range.
I am still young and the high frequencies severely cut the ear, so the intelligibility in the middle and lower levels, for me personally, worsens even more. I suppose that people in the age with such a problem will not face.
In sum, considering all the above, I would not recommend these headphones for information. Modern orchestral music (two steps for hell, for example) sounds too elaborate because of the small amplitude of low and medium frequencies. But the classic (not oversaturated with percussion), on the contrary, sounds lively and pleasant. The same can be said about rock and jazz music - the classics are good, the modern is worse. Beginners "electronics" and arrangers, headphones can also be recommended if there is no excessive sensitivity in the high range. The main rule for selecting headphones is the pleasant sound of the music with which you work, so as not to keep the corrections in mind when mixing. Nothing universal, alas, no.

Advantages: 1) Sound. Not to say that perfect, but its 6,000 rubles. act out on all 100%. The bass is unobtrusive, the sound is pretty neutral - exactly what I was looking for.
2) Excellent sound insulation. People around you can not hear your music and you can not hear others.
3) Portability. Foldable headphone design gives them incredible compactness when folded. A simple bag of leatherette in the kit.
4) Reliability and quality. Nothing backlash and creaks. The wire does not twist into knots. All mobile connections are quite strong.
5) Soft ear cushions. You can not remove the headphones for several hours. In this material ear cushions are selected so that the headphones are evenly pressed to the head. The main thing - to choose the right fit, so that the ears were comfortable.
6) Audio-Technica, after all.

Disadvantages: 1) Non-detachable cable. The main disadvantage of headphones, significantly limiting the practicality and the scope of their applicability. First, listening to music from a player or phone, dragging 2 meters of cable in your pocket will be at least inconvenient.Secondly, in the event of a wire failure, it will be impossible to repair the headphones without a soldering iron and tape.
2) Sound absolutely disgusting from the integrated sound card. At least with me. To listen to music from a computer, you need either a discrete card or a separate amplifier. Impedance probably affects 47 ohms.

Comment: I bought headphones for the player Fiio X1. Never regretted it. For the second month I have been listening to flac-format music with studio sound quality. Headphones are suitable for playing any music, but in some cases you will have to twist the equalizer. The only complaint to the sound, I will have only not the best detail high frequencies. As already noted by one of the users, the headphones have a rather high resistance. Hi-fi player more or less copes, but a regular mp3 player (or a Sony NWZ-E383 level media player), as practice shows, does not closely reveal the possibilities of these "ears": the sound is squeezed. Also, there is no volume control on the cable, so when playing from some phones, the volume level may change in jerks. In general, in terms of price / quality ratio, an extremely successful model. Recommend.

1) I take my words about the design back. I thought that these headphones look ugly and unaesthetic, until I saw the ideological competitors, which are Sony MDR-7506 and Sennheiser HD 280 PRO. Here designers have had a rest, as follows. Owners of these models will ask me not to kick my feet, I do not say that they are bad.
2) I experienced considerable frustration when I connected the headphones to the computer. The sound has become incredibly dry, with highly dominant high frequencies. Bass simply evaporated, it is not in principle. Volume is also not felt. If anyone wants to connect the M30x to a computer, it’s better to immediately think about purchasing an amplifier or a good sound card.

Advantages: Convenience, durability, balance in the frequency range, good sound insulation

Disadvantages: Isolation sound "out" - that is, the headphones still skip the music that they lose, out at high volume.

Comment: Excellent appearance of the headphones, they sit perfectly on the head, for 3-4 hours the socks do not noticeably strain the neck, for the year of use the look is perfect (if you clean the plastic for which they take their hands).

The sound for the middle ear is great. The manufacturer is famous, so there is no doubt that the sound picture will be complete and accurately transmitted. Of course, various Sony, which is twice as expensive, gave a more pleasant sound and sat on the head better, but they are more expensive. Here, without various equalizer-improvers on the standard audio chip of the computer, the sound is wonderful. The diameter of the emitters is quite large, so the picture is volumetric.
Headphones monitor, that is designed to transmit sounds as accurately as possible without distortion. This is clearly seen, after AKG's beloved by me, which, for the beauty of the sound, give more developed bass, the sound seemed different. The fact is that the equalizers on the ATH-M30x can get the sound like on AKG, but on the contrary - not.

I highly recommend, it is a pity that there was no money for the older model)

Advantages: Great headphones. Sound juicy. Bass in moderation.

Disadvantages: Not. Although there may be one. When removing one ear strives all the time to develop.

Comment: Great headphones for home use.
Watching movies, listening to music. Not necessarily from a powerful source.

Advantages: The monitor character of the sound with greater emphasis on the extreme frequencies than the 50-ki. True design (the form itself) coincides with them, as far as I know. And this is good, as it is very comfortable to sit on the head, and the ear cushions nicely fit to the ears.It is, in principle, very durable (stepped on headphones on the floor in the dark by chance - weathered) except for one place - those places where it is attached to cups do not inspire confidence in me. The cable is attached on one side, so they can be very comfortable lying on the right side in bed.

Disadvantages: The sound is very different from the ATH-M50x, it’s not just the “younger model”. Here he has a distinctly different character.

Comment: My favorite home "friend", whom I would not agree to exchange for anything.

Advantages: I use this model for a couple of months. I must say that most of all in this model I liked a strong, powerful sound. Headphones are designed for home, so the wire is quite long, and ear pads - soft, elastic and comfortable.

Disadvantages: The resistance is a bit high - it would be better to have made 32 ohms, then the sound from portable players would be better.

Comment: I liked the ATH-M30x. Of course, this is not the legendary ATH-M50, but the sound of the 30-ki is very good. In general, if you like a good sound - try this model.

Advantages: Good price, excellent balanced sound, very comfortable fit on the head.

Disadvantages: The model is made only in one color - in black.

Comment: I use at home when playing tanks and on the street in conjunction with the Colorfly player. I am very glad that I chose this particular model in the store.

Advantages: Excellent sound suppression (I have never seen such a good one before), excellent sound with a perfectly balanced middle, long cable (conveniently, you don’t need to be removed from your head when you move away from the computer), low price.

Disadvantages: Not found.

Comment: Perfectly suited for singles on the computer and home audio system. Recommend.
