Disadvantages: - Autofocus points are collected close to the center, if the subject is close to the edge, you still have to perekadrirovat.
- Slow SD slot. UHS-I cards are not supported and therefore the whole point of duplication is reduced to nothing. To shoot a series in RAW, only JPEG is recorded on SD, otherwise the camera's buffer is quickly full and it freezes. Of course, backup in jpeg is better than none, but still, there should not be half measures in the camera positioned in the “Pro” segment.
- There is a chip programmatically knocking down the focus on non-native lenses. On 6D, the Sigma 50 1.4, with intracameral correction at -5 without a miss, beats even on the open one. On the nickle with such a correction, the glass gives a stable undershoot, without correction, the focus generally floats — either the back or the front. With native L-kami there is no such problem.
- Well, the sound of the shutter is too mechanical, hard. On 6D is nicer.

Comment: Prior to the purchase of the 5D markIII, it took almost a year to shoot at 6D (now it has become the second camera). There are things that I like in the six (support for UHS-I cards, control via wi-fi), but for work, the things that they like in the penny (autofocus and ergonomics) are more important. And portraits with 5D are more lively, plastic and voluminous (of course, with proper work with the light). And I believe that this difference is worth the price difference. For professionals - for sure.

Advantages: First of all, I would like to attribute to the pluses a new autofocus system, tenacious and fast, because I often shoot sports, this is critical. Now the autofocus system is really caught up with the nicknames.
Flexibility - all buttons are customizable, everything can be conveniently made for you.
ISO has written a lot about it. Up to 6400 noise is not enough. Up to 3200 there are practically none.

I like very much serial quiet shooting, and it is quiet and quite bright.
All other changes - this is rather an evolution after the second penny.

Disadvantages: The new system of viewing and zoom, had to get used to.
Inflating the menu knows no bounds, well, there is a custom menu.
I personally do not need video functions, it is a pity that it is impossible without them.
Not quite convenient flash control menu from the camera, when there are a lot of them.

Comment: I left Nikon in 2004 and then only the Canon: 30D, 1D mark3, 60D and finally 5D m3. Native battery really hit me with his willpower. 10 hours of shooting in the cold of -15 degrees, about 1200 shots (raw & jpg separately), 30 percent of the continuous shooting. Did not even blink! I came home, I look - 4 divisions! With three divisions discharges already faster. I do not know, maybe it's so lucky for me.

Battery pack If you plan to mount the device with BB on the stand for the heel on the lens - forget it. Anyway, in my Slik is not attached - BB rests on the head. What is sold in Moscow is in 99% not the original, no matter what you say. Average prices range from 9,000 to 15,000. I compared the quality in 3 different reputable stores personally - 1 in 1. I bought the same for 3200. Everything fuzzily functions, even a network adapter, if inserted into the BB. Delight is incredible! There is a correction of aberrations and vignetting, and for each specific lens. It may even correct distortion itself, but there it is a little more difficult.
There is an internal adjustment.The back / front focus is no longer fatal, for each lens has its own profile, the zoom has a separate adjustment for the long and short ends, it calculates the internal (intermediate) values.
You can fine-tune the tracking autofocus to reduce defects when shooting sports type dynamics.
Reassigning keys is extremely useful. You do not like the button "increase" thrown to the left? Assign "zoom" to the set button - and voila.

ISO workers. It is important. For all. You are no longer pressed against iso 200 if you do not want to lose the quality of the picture. 6400 - your new 200. This means that you can shoot in rooms with more than a modest light without noise - without additional light, flashes, loss of quality, without being clamped on an open hole and dangerous exposures like 1/15 just to squeeze the maximum of stops . On expanded iso 100 000, the device sees what I do not see, in total darkness. Of course, it’s hellishly noisy, but if you are a beggar spy who doesn’t have Q gadgets, this will allow you to rent car numbers and visible faces in dark underground garages.

Disadvantages: Price. But with a more detailed study of the market, you realize that it is more than adequate. Wait a few years until Mark 4 comes out and Mark 3 gets cheaper is stupid.
Weight / size. Before shopping, they scare, after - you stop to understand why they scared you.
Unresponsive joystick. Left-right spinning more willingly than up and down, but not to say that it hurt much. In order to search at least some minuses.
No serial shooting timer. This is strange, because the younger models have one. You can not specify the number of frames for shooting on a timer, and this allowed you to make self-portrait photosets with a tripod. And the timer is only 2 and 10 seconds. It was so difficult to let myself set the number of frames and seconds before the start, and maybe a pause between frames. Like, buy, kids, remote? This is also not an ideal solution, however.
There is no constant autofocus when shooting video. Yes, the video is only with manual focus. If during the shooting you press the autofocus - it will catch it for a long time, and it will be noticeable both in the picture and in the sound - brightness, sharpness, in general, full power will jump. Only hands.
The competitors from Nikon have a tracking autofocus on the video, it is strange that Canon did not ripen. But he seems too imperfect and does not solve the problem. The technology has not yet matured apparently, we are waiting for the next generation, while we are learning to turn the knobs and not to tug the camera.
Eats battery faster than younger brethren. But this is not specifically the trouble of this model, but the general rule of pro-cameras. Just for those who come from the crop, like me, this is news. Therefore, yes, additional batteries will have to be taken if you choose for long sessions such as day excursions or hiking in the woods.
The monitor is lying. This is so, everything looks prettier on it than on a computer, but when you take it into account, there are no problems.

No, Mark 3 differs dramatically, lose the high working iso and normal autofocus and many small things that together constitute a significant advantage. Even lower by an order of magnitude, 60d, 7d - already cropped. 6d - essentially the same mark3, only trimmed, and some things are cut away not for the sake of diminishing value, but purely from “harmfulness” so that it does not clearly eclipse mark3. But if the money is very sorry, then this is probably the main alternative, take a look. Nikon's options looked only at the subject “are there any decisive merits”, did not find those, did not dig further.

RAW or JPEG? There are a lot of holivars on this topic, but for myself I stopped at a compromise. Ro + jpeg, ro is written on the CF card, jpeg on SD. I only write off jpeg on the computer. If I find a valuable frame, which I am willing to spend time on, I climb SF and find its po version, pull out and correct.The built-in noise control and other automatics in the camera really give very good jpeys, and when you find a photo you want to spend time in a shop, it will be logical to start with editing po without losing quality.

4) Huge functionality (reassignment of buttons, silent shooting mode, fine focus tracking settings, pleasant twists like HDR, electronic level and silent tactile control when recording video, editing raw in the camera itself);
5) “Reporting bias” (6-frame rate of fire and matrix optimization for high Iso) will be appreciated by those who plan to work a lot with telephones (plus you can save if you buy dark Elks, but not light ones, because iso allows).
6) Autofocus. I will not say that it is much better, but better (at 550D I focused on the central point and generally did not complain). It is fast, but, of course, not “instant” - but this is not a 1D reportage.
7) Case. Large, comfortable, durable. Severity reduces vibration at the hands.
8) Two memory cards. However, I was more interested in CF because of the speed, I just forgot about SD.
9) Correction of autofocus and chromatism of lenses.

Disadvantages: There is, of course, this leakage of light, but it is so insignificant (it is not even a tenth of the photographer’s mistake in choosing the exposure) that it is only a psychological problem.
I read the entire manual and tried all the functions - absolutely everything works without glitches, I did not even change the firmware.
There are probably no real flaws. And who specifically seeks them, will find in any model.

Comment: Those who are interested in photography and want to develop, definitely sooner or later need to move to full frame. I chose between the second third brand, in the end I chose the third - why buy a fullframe from which autofocus would be worse than that of a modern crop ?.
If we talk about a competitor, then you cannot say that something is better and something worse - 5D Mark III or Nikon D800, these cameras have slightly different directions. I didn’t choose D800 for two main reasons - the entire Internet is full of many problems with the raw first batch (lanes on the video, microphone noises, drops of grease on the sensor, burning batteries, etc.), and I already have my own Canon glass.

Advantages: The new focusing system is really impressive. Very fast and VERY sharp.

The focusing system is beyond praise. Very impressive tracking autofocus. last model is like a joke, but it really works. Shooting a sport and driving on open holes has become much easier. AF areas are scattered across the field. And this is great. Now you can frame correctly right away without fear of blunders. On Mark 2 this was not dreamed of. when shooting motion in low light, you had to focus on the center point to get into focus.
It is important to note that the worse the lens, the less AF cross points will be active. I think it is useful for newbies to know ... Therefore, such a camera also needs appropriate optics)))
Loved the zoom system. the button can be programmed and with a single click you can immediately see the required degree of magnification at the point of focus in order to quickly evaluate the image.
Build quality at height. Nothing creaks and everything fits snugly.
The viewfinder has become much brighter. This is not bad for manual focusing. And now it shows the entire field of the frame.
Customizable HDR. You can shoot even with it. The camera itself will combine the pictures, the quality is pleased. Completely sold pictures turn out.
and of course the rate of fire 6 frames per second with tracking autofocus in Rav !!!

on the camera .. I have already taken three conclusions in Prague:
1) the main + this is AF it is descriptively perfect ... I compare it to 5d2 ... so there is a complete poop. My favorite lens is 85 1.2II. I was critical of the side points. (5d3). Even the tracking af is working and on 5d2 it is a pure fake chip
2) Two cards are a good reinsurance (who burned he knows)
3) Changed the grip of the camera .. under the fingers made a notch, the camera does not slip
4) The screen is better (but for me it too beautifully shows, it lies)
5) Iso working up to 12,000 compared to 5d2 in which 3200 max
6) Finally, a normal auto car, on the street now puts 100 iso and not 400 as 5d2 ..
