Canon EOS M3 Kit Reviews

Advantages: Ergonomics, small size, swivel screen, high-level video and photo quality are definitely the same!)
Disadvantages: Not at all, only pluses
Comment: He took a camera for home purposes, chose just a good camera for the family, to shoot on holidays, on vacation and the like. But this model has completely changed my views on this matter, with the help of her photos come out artistic, bright, interesting. The focus is smooth and fast, which is very nice, because it catches the most colorful moments. I shoot with him even in poor lighting, ISO allows. Now the photo for me is art. In general, I advise everyone, do not be disappointed!

Advantages: Protected from accidental clicks of the screen touch-interface, direct access to the PASM-parameters of shooting from a physical manipulator and the most popular other parameters, rubberized grip, working AF, more than the desired flash settings. Built-in flash allows you to direct the light away from the subject.
Disadvantages: Folding screen, "empty" handle. The price / performance ratio is inferior to the comparable DSLR price. Loud shutter. Unjustified price in Russia. Great noises.
Comment: He took on replacements EOS M, whom he owned for about a year. With his predecessor, boldly dragged off a chic 22-mm "fix", giving the "old man" 18-55 "whale". Well, as a “replacement”, I’ll be comparing with EOS M, but the strengths and weaknesses of the latter, like the “system” as a whole, are no longer here.
I got a fast enough AF, which is quite reliable at EOS M, but very slow. The switching speed is “normal”, but not a rocket. It does not bother.
Ergonomics - much, much better. This is no longer "under the tentacle with a sucker", but you can already cling with your fingers. But the disadvantage is a somewhat larger envelope due to the handle. Even more enlarged due to the folding screen. It would be better without him, honestly, and it turns limitedly - it will not be possible to unfold and fold to the side. They would save space and simplify the design (or they did it normally!). The handle to the touch frankly empty - not very nice. But - a twister with PASM-modes and access by a joystick ring and a wheel around the shutter button to all pairs of variable parameters! The icons of the parameters are no longer "sticky" - you have to press the virtual button "Q" - no longer you touch the settings with a random touch. So what's new is good: a redesigned touch-interface, direct control, mechanical manipulators, more convenient body, wider settings, sufficient AF, added. The bad - the execution of the folding screen and envelope in thickness. As for the quality of the picture - not bad. But I have not yet seen a radical difference, except in “weight”.

It is easy to see that the picture on the right is noisier than the picture on the left. The noise at the same time is “dirty”, choking is much worse than on the left picture. On the left we have the EOS M (first), and on the right - the EOS M3. Alas. It would be better to leave the old matrix. The picture is RawDigger, which is called the most alive, without processing. So the new 24-megapixel matrix of Canon makes a lot more noise than the old 18-megapixel one and this is clearly seen already at ISO 400-800.

Advantages: I am writing compared to EOS-M. A lot of significant improvements, from the revived autofocus and rotary screen to the exposure compensation wheel and the built-in (finally) flash.
Disadvantages: A ten-frame self-timer was removed - a great sadness, because Wi-Fi will not replace it.
The video quality got worse exactly twice. Bitrate lowered.

Comment: For me, this is the ideal replacement for a heavy SLR on travels not related to prof. activities. The main reason for the purchase is the possibility of using L-optics. From native lenses, only the 22nd pancake gives a decent picture, but I will still buy 11-22.
