HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dw Reviews

Advantages: - Wireless connection.
- Duplex printing and scanning without even connecting to a computer in a network folder, on a flash drive and even by mail. True, batch scanning in the latter case is not provided. Probably because of the not very large RAM memory.
- Scanning over the network, i.e. can be scanned from multiple computers.
- You can print directly from your tablet / phone via WiFi, by installing HP eprint.

Disadvantages: - Some settings are only available through the web interface.
- Apparently, due to the design features, scanning through the ADF tray (which is very convenient for two-sided batch scanning) is only with a resolution of 300dpi, which is very small, for example, text recognition.
- On the manufacturer’s website it is written: “Scan file format PDF, PDF with search function, JPG, RTF, TXT, BMP, PNG, TIFF”, actually scans only in JPG format with loss of quality. It doesn't matter what format and / or resolution is indicated on the output. The scanner gives only a hardware JPG format, and then is converted by software to the desired one. Checked on various scanning programs including the included software MFP. This is noticeable in the artifacts around the characters when the image is enlarged when scanning documents.
For this is a very big minus!
- By the way, what kind of scan formats: "PDF with search function", "RTF" and
"Txt" remains unclear. No automatic text recognition
device does not support.
- Not quite clear drivers for Linux. Instead of uploading a PPD file right away, a script is downloaded that compiles a completely unnecessary utility and still generates a PPD file.

Comment: Quite tolerable for not very active use.

Advantages: Print quality, two-sided copying and scanning, scanning to a USB flash drive and over the network, built-in Wi-Fi.
Disadvantages: expensive cartridges, auto calibration for no reason
Comment: I bought it home so that a spouse with a small one could work at home, everything arranges except for auto-calibration in the middle of the night, you have to turn it off, and the start for a cold one is about 2 minutes. Connected via WiFi ie only one wire - power. It is in the far corner of the room does not bother anyone.
