Nikon 105mm f / 2.8G IF-ED AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor Reviews

Evaluation 5
Advantages: Excellent macro properties and sharpness!
Disadvantages: Weight and price.
Comment: On the first day, after the purchase shot macro. I was just amazed at the capabilities of this lens. I confirm all the positive reviews, a great lens. Unnecessarily harsh for portraits, but for objects the size of a couple of millimeters is what you need. Perfect bokeh, good aperture, all-weather and powerful constructive. I bought it before the crisis, for a reasonable 25,000. A very good lens for people who like to take pictures in nature and make masterpieces without much difficulty)!

Advantages: Sharp, pleasant bokeh, stabilizer, protected.
Disadvantages: It is a universal macro lens. When shooting insects, this was revealed as a flaw.
Comment: China is proudly written on the lens, but it works perfectly. And now about the features. 105 mm is a versatile macro lens. With such a focal, it may well be used as a portrait. And now about the features of the lens. because of its 105 mm can deliver some degree of inconvenience. For example, you want to photograph a beautifully designed food. I mean, not a staged photo, but on the fly. And in order for your beautifully decorated cake to be included in the frame, you will have to get up from the table and move away for some distance. So for such purposes it is better to take a smaller macric. But when shooting insects, the opposite is true: even approaching an insect at the minimum focusing distance, the insect still takes up a small part of the frame and then has to be sprinkled. For the shooting of insects makriki 150-200 mm are better suited. So this lens, like any "universal" has its own compromises. But I’m keeping it exactly and am not going to change it for any other, since I’m completely satisfied with the quality of this glass, the convenience of this lens for different situations, and also the relatively compact size for this class of lenses.
After more than a year of use, the thread of the attachment of the hood was loose and it began to hang out

Advantages: Sharp, light, high-quality assembly (albeit China). Very high quality glass for both portraits and macro.
Disadvantages: Heavy, but it’s not even a drawback .. Sometimes autofocus is stupid, but you get used to it easily, especially m / a mode allows you to twist handles if autofocus is lost))) (So this is not even a disadvantage, but a nuance)
Comment: In life, I would not have thought that on the diaphragm 2.8 it gives mega erosion and very “expensive” bokeh, as in fifty a day or in Helios. High-quality lens, high-quality, sharp and smart enough. It wasn’t enough time to grow up, but as a portrait painter very, very ... The truth turns into a crop matrix in a telephoto, but if there are hands, the photos are unmatched ... A pleasant surprise, not a lens.

Advantages: Incredible sharpness and juiciness of the picture. No distortion. Aberrations, too, did not notice, even on a hole 2.8. Strong constructive. Backlight keeps excellent - no blend needed. Macro, which is really almost Micro. Suitable for both crop and fullframe. What else have you forgotten? And, the stabilizer - fulfills one hundred percent.
Disadvantages: Overly thoughtful autofocus. I did not find others.
Comment: Thing worthwhile.

Advantages: The sharpness is amazing. The appropriate detailing. The colors are just alive. The micro mode — well, I just want to forget what you shot before in macro.
Disadvantages: Weight? Is 800 grams of good Japanese metal-weight? Price? And offer at least something resembling, cheaper, or for this price. The only thing, this device has been produced for more than a year, in all beloved China.
Comment: Alexander's very amused testimonial, with impressive comparative characteristics. He’s probably with a whale, and he’s been passing all his life. He’s not 200% better in tests. And I can’t fuck up these tests. I’m satisfied with the lens and feel .... I am very satisfied. The more that I bought almost a new Japanese, for 700 bucks.

Advantages: Strengths - Sharpness, VR-II, bokeh, very accurate AF (in good light)
true with Micro only manual focus
front lens does not rotate does not move for Micro does not scare animals
Disadvantages: heavy, a little bulky
Comment: Like Micro - very happy at 5.
Portrait 5 (if a small room is not suitable - not enough distance)
Report on 3 (heavy and you have to run back, which is not always possible)
Subject on 5 +++++++ best result,

Advantages: Sharpness, speed, compactness, stabilizer!
Disadvantages: None This uncompromising macro lens.
Comment: The lens is good from all sides: ultra-fast, quiet and comfortable, high-aperture. so even with a stabilizer and full macro capabilities (1: 1 reproduction scale) There is no such combination of properties on the full-frame optics market for Nikon yet. It is also not too bulky and fairly light.

Advantages: Tremendous color rendition and drawing. Sharp, fast + stabilizer.
Disadvantages: are missing.
Comment: whatever they say, but he has a portrait drawing. The weight of 800 grams I would rather write in pluses, for the heavier the lens with the carcass, the more stable they are in the hands. Constructive armored, good moisture protection.
The most favorite lens, for the pictures taken by it possess some kind of barely noticeable magic. Such optics make perfecting in photo art, and not wrestle with the technical side of shooting (focusing, blunders, XA and others ...).
there are no competitors among the fixes ... except AF 105/2 DC, but these are completely different tasks and money;)

Advantages: Lens wagon. And macro and portrait in one person. This will appeal to many. Convenient construct. Switching the focus from automatic to manual instant, in addition there is a corresponding switch on the case - this is the legacy of the ultrasonic motor. Again, the motor allows you to quickly and tenaciously focus. The number of misses is minimal. Sometimes a vibration reduction system helps out. With a slow shooting, it is better to turn it off, but when shooting a reportage, it helps a lot. Technical bells and whistles and a sturdy body make the lens versatile, but what it really is worth respecting for is a drawing. Besides the fact that it is sharp, clear, it is also with a wonderful blur. Very nice drawing. After 70-200 f / 2.8, the quality of the 105th is visible, although the Nikon 70-200 f / 2.8 is almost a reference zoom standard.
Disadvantages: Disadvantages, disadvantages ... Yes, they are.In reality, the diaphragm is not f / 2.8, but “changes” depending on the focusing distance. This is somewhat annoying, though, I understand - that this is nonsense and cavil. =) Maybe another price. But believe me if you shoot portraits or close-ups, it is difficult to find a better tool. For quality taken to pay.
Comment: For whom the mythical technical parameters are important, as someone wrote here, then pay attention to other lenses. Who scares the price - too. But in fact, if you take it not for fun, but with a serious intention to get consistently excellent results and if you use all its properties 100%, then the 105th will not disappoint. On the crope, by the way, it also gives a beautiful picture, but of course you can feel the whole charm in full frame.
For the price adequacy, I put 4/5 - you always want cheaper =)

Advantages: Very sharp picture, smart and accurate autofocus, high-aperture, when focusing shows the real aperture.
Disadvantages: not found
Comment: Much has been said about this lens. The lens, as far as I know, has no analogues in its focal length, which would have a constant geometry, which is extremely convenient as it allows you to focus more quickly and accurately. In general, I agree with those who wrote about him about me. The lens is wonderful and extremely easy to use. Draws a sharp picture. Chromatic aberrations, about which some write is not noticed.
