Reviews of Nikon 50mm f / 1.4G AF-S Nikkor

Evaluation 5
Advantages: Not a bad lens for the money, good luminosity, well enough resolves the matrix, well done, very light, very small, not as expensive as the top 58 1.4,
Disadvantages: Unhurried autofocus, and the rest is just nagging and our mistakes with you))
Comment: Suitable for both amateur and professional. Poltos 1.4 should be in every photographer, often rented to them in the studio, behaves well in the registry office and many other places when shooting a wedding.
P.S. If you do not know how to work with an open hole, you do not need to write a bad review about this glass.

Advantages: Aperture, AF accuracy, detail. Minimum chromatic.
Disadvantages: for its class - no.
Comment: I use on D800. One of my favorites. The feeling is that in the hands of the good old “Zenith” with “Helios-44 ″, which has been used for over 20 years. Therefore, it turns out to shoot everything (of course, except where more than 100 mm is required)

Advantages: Bokeh, aperture, soft light on an open hole, bokeh, the blend does not rotate when focusing, bokeh, yes, yes, it is worth mentioning it three times.
Disadvantages: the price, especially considering that the difference between the same lens with a 1.8 aperture almost doubles (!), but I still took this one.
Comment: Excellent lens, took it to replace the whale and now the whale is in the box. The lens is great. While I try the subject and street photos. I advise you to buy to everyone who wants to get a gorgeous bokeh, and feel that the money was spent for good reason.

The only thing I would like is metal instead of plastic to be made and a metal hood.

I really liked the hybrid autofocus system, when after the autofocus worked it was possible to switch the focus manually without switching anything.

I advise you to immediately buy to him a protective filter or any other so as not to spoil the front glass. Now I think to take only high-aperture lenses, since the difference in using high-aperture glass from a budget one is so dramatically different, even on a budget camera, that I don’t even want to think that I will buy dark glass. And this is not boasting, this is honest advice: "" DO NOT TAKE CHEAP LENSES! "" That's what I just want to shout to everyone. The camera comes alive with a good lens.

Advantages: 1) Excellent sharpness for f / 1.4
2) Excellent sharpness at the edges of the frame, even in full frame (Nikon D600). And even more so on the crope.
3) Excellent colors!
4) No accuracy for autofocus accuracy
5) Geometry and vignetting - very good. In the lightroom 4.3 there is a profile for the lens - it perfectly straightens even the pictures taken at f / 1.4!
6) Lightweight, compact, sturdy
7) It gives an excellent microcontrast on the pictures
8) Divinely soft bokeh on open diaphragms
9) Video filming on this glass is one big advantage (especially in the full frame, where it gives an honest 50mm).
Disadvantages: 1) Autofocus speed (slow, not rushing, recheck once again for accuracy)
Comment: Gorgeous glass! One of the best fixes on the full frame. For crop, I would advise to take 1.4D as it will not yield in quality, and even surpass 1.4G due to slightly lower HA. In addition, the 1.4D autofocus is noticeably faster, you can even say lightning, which cannot be said about 1.4G, whose autofocus is in principle accurate, but not in a hurry. But in the full frame the picture changes - 1.4D doesn’t fit the full frame, the loss of sharpness in the corners is no match for what we get in 1.4G, which is great in the full frame. I hid all my tele-travel zooms and clicked only on fifty dollars, this is a great pleasure, all the frames are from the cover, juicy, contrasting, sharp across the entire field of the frame. Plus, the glass is light and compact, it is also applicable to the full frame it can pull any plot - be it a landscape or a portrait, shooting against the sun or at dusk; it helps out always, at any time of the day or night, in any terrain and at any lighting.

Advantages: luminosity, drawing, sharpness (if lucky).
Disadvantages: A lot of copies with inaccurate focusing.
Comment: It takes a long time to choose a suitable copy, it’s like such a feeling that, in China, some Uncle Liao gathers them on his knees especially for our mighty country in a dark basement. At the same time, the same glass was brought from a friend from Japan and is just perfect, sharp and accurate already from 1.4! Therefore, there is only one advice, very picky to choose, to come to the store with a tripod, laptop (to view at 100% magnification), a friend (or girlfriend), a person to sit down and focus on the pupil (I think the test tables are not too good a solution but useful for evaluating chromium and geometry) and begin to methodically carry out the brain to sellers within a few hours. No more, you can carry it to the alignment of course, but it’s not a fact that will help, and it’s like how to buy shoes one size smaller in the hope that they are being carried.

Advantages: 1. f / 1.4, there is f / 1.4
2. color rendition - download
3. you can forget about the flash
4. very sharp
5. great washes background
6. easy
Disadvantages: price
Comment: In the fall I bought a D7000 with a 18-55 mm whale lens. After a couple of months of shooting, I realized that I needed fix and zoom, I spilled the Internet, I decided on 50mm f / 1.8 and 18-200mm f / 3.5-5.6G. In December my wife gave 50mm f /1.4G AF-S. After the first shots I was shocked by the aperture ... the sharpness ... the bokeh ... the color rendition ... at the height. Whale 18-55 where it is necessary to do something. I recommend this 50mm f / 1.4G AF-S to everyone.

Advantages: Reliable fix for a variety of tasks - from a portrait in cramped and dark rooms such as bars, restaurants and clubs, to a relaxing walk through the fields and forests.
Very light.
Quiet motor.
Lack of HA.
Disadvantages: It has an "interesting" color - such fair, for my taste) This is a nagging, because From RAW, everyone constructs what he needs ...
There is an opinion that you need to carefully select for accuracy of AF, etc. - I do not know, did not encounter.
Comment: Lens from a series of must-have)
Mine was acquired with little or no verification - that’s how it was.
Probably lucky, but I did not encounter any soap or AF inaccuracy.
As he wrote above - his main purpose is to shoot in places unsuitable for shooting, where he displays all his merits.
Despite the Chinese assembly, it is constructively very good: no backlashes, no sounds, no squeaks. Dust does not swallow.
Definitely recommend as a base lens on any FF camera.

Advantages: 1) high-aperture
2) Sharp
3) Easy
4) Built-in motor (for models of carcasses without screwdriver)
5) Semi-automatic M / A mode
6) Build quality
Disadvantages: 1) My model has a slight creaking of the motor when focusing.
Comment: Long chose to replace the whale glass 18-55, which did not satisfy the sharpness. I stopped at this model, which I didn’t like with a plastic construction, in the photo it looks a sheer cheap. I went to the store, picked up and all doubts disappeared. The plastic is very high quality and not easily soiled, the glass is well assembled.

Advantages: Aperture Awesome sharpness on apertures from 2.8 to 8, and acceptable on all others. Adequate cost (a similar lens from Sigma is more expensive). The presence of the motor. Boke
Disadvantages: Rather slow autofocus. Minor HA under certain shooting conditions. AND EVERYTHING !!!
Comment: Bought this lens a week ago. I use on full-frame D700. Bought for the soul. To shoot this bundle is a great pleasure, easy and sometimes not attracting unnecessary attention. Sharpness is amazing. In RAW, all pixels of the matrix are clearly traced. The color rendition is excellent. There is something to compare with - I have 24-70 f / 2.8. I will say the following about slow autofocus: "This is a fix, not a reportage lens, focusing speed is not as important here as its accuracy." They write a lot about HA, but in my opinion they are insignificant, or the D700 fixes them better than other cameras. On the diaphragm 1.4 can be removed if skillfully. In the full frame, it can be used as a "staffer", and on the crop as a "portrait painter", and for non-motorized cameras there is no alternative. Blur is largely determined by the design of the diaphragm. In this case, a 9-leaf with a rounded aperture gives a beautiful bokeh. If possible, take this "mast have" lens.

Advantages: Figure.Detalization. Color transfer. The quality of the assembly is at a height. The wearer really corresponds to the one declared by the manufacturer.
Disadvantages: The price ... But not to get used to the AF-S lenses ... I would like to build Japan. For fixing slightly slow focusing (finding fault) ...
Comment: I have long watched, read and watched tests, reviews of owners. After the test shots in the store, I bought my carcass (Nikon D5000) and watched the house on the big screen without regret the next day.
