1. Update the firmware to the latest version 10.34. Important: you may need to do the procedure twice if you have version 5.x installed - version 9.x first arrives, then you turn off the phone, turn it on again and start the update again - another update arrives - it is 10.34. If you do not turn off the phone, then a repeated update request will not allow you to download 10.34 - it says that "the latest updates have already been installed." So it was with me. I could not understand for a long time how to upgrade to 10.34 - and everything turned out so simple :)
2. DISABLE mobile data
3. Disable the DUAL network mode and set the GSM.

Everything. You will have a great long-playing phone.

Sad icons of the menu, games are silly, almost everything, the built-in themes are so-so, there are few beautiful melodies inside, and the camera is 5 MP - goodness, well, have you saved on autofocus? - there would be a focus, it would become very good! Built-in tweeters, nibmuzi, etc. things that you really want (and not at all) to throw out and forget - why should we?

If you are interested in the device without a touch screen, a button, and even in a metal case, with two sym bargain (suddenly useful), with tempered glass (this thing, I know what I'm saying!) - take it, you will not regret it!
If you can’t do anything without a navigator, mail, a cool camera - well, not destiny, the choice is yours, but in general it will be very much a gift or a second phone.

Comment: the menu is not very good but is customizable as before. the main thing is that the head thinks and the hands are in place ... the awful icons (but this all changes with the themes) could leave the old one. it is much better.
The camera does not match the claimed 5 megapixels. but if you urgently need to capture an important frame, it will come down. the 6700 camera is no better.
In general, the phone turned out to be normal (neither good nor bad) in any device there are pluses and minuses. for calls and SMS is the thing. I think the 6700 replacement is great. since it has not been released since 2010. and what they now sell is unknown from where they are taken. may recovered. The audibility of the interlocutor is excellent. speaker volume too. Those who complain about these aspects may simply have gotten married. may depends on the date of production. not all the same .... in general, who needs to call and send sms this device is the most. and to whom internet games, etc., there are other gadgets for this. Comment: I use it as a phone - calls, sms, I bought it for this. First impressions are only positive, if you do not take into account the "dancing with a tambourine" on the synchronization of contacts. The fact is that the nokia pc suite does not support s40-based products from 2013, and in place of this provides the user with a cable driver (to copy data into the phone’s memory without copying contacts, notes, etc.)

Comment: Long watched this model from the moment it was announced. In October I went to buy, but only the white version was found for sale. As a result, bought Phillips X5500. I used it for almost a month, and apparently would have continued to use it further, but my daughter requisitioned in exchange for the broken android, uses it and is very pleased. And I bought the 515th. From the point of view of ease of use, of course, the 515th is more convenient both in size, and in weight and in tactile sensations. And most importantly the sound quality when talking. Nokia here is out of competition. A huge fly in the ointment is software. At one time, I used many Nokii of the 40th series and I expected that at least now it was not worse. Alas. Much worse than before. For a long time I understood how to connect with a computer. Then I transferred the numbers for a long time (the transfer program, which is constantly failing on the phone, succeeded only through bluetooth. The contacts could no longer choose which contacts to display. The subscriber’s photo was very small. In principle, if now it was 2008-2009, then 515 would be a hit. Now people are spoiled by not expensive much more functional gadgets. But if you set a clear goal "I want a beautiful, metal push-button phone only for calls and you have nostalgia for old Nokia is easy - then go to the store for 515 ". Therefore, the main thing before buying is to decide what you need - just a phone or something more. But in any case this is the last Nokia (19.11. Nokia’s promoters approved the deal to sell Microsoft) History and only for the sake of it you should think about buying. It was all I who weighed and bought 515. There is a slight sadness, but it’s more likely that the era of great phones ended long ago with 6700. And now there are only gadgets for a year.

And the performance is credible. Crush does not play. Buttons do not hang out. However, I was not satisfied with the quality of the battery. On average, lived 3-4 days. In this model there is a BL-4U battery. I have the same from NOKIA 5530 express music. For the experiment set it - the vitality increased significantly. The battery in 515 outwardly differs from that set by me, which calls into question its "Originality". My old classic gray with a hologram and the gray gray inscription NOKIA, like on most NOKIA batteries. New black with the inscription applied on plastic. My subjective opinion is a third-party battery manufacturer.
