Panasonic RF-3500 reviews

Evaluation 5
Advantages: All-wave, which is quite rare now.
Disadvantages: According to modern concepts - no.
Comment: Those who were holding in their hands the receivers (receivers) of the National Panasonic of 70-80 years of release, at first will treat with disgust the similar goods made today. It seems that they have already done everything and even more to minimize the cost of production. As for the work of the apparatus, there are no comments. The sensitivity is excellent, the sound is good, clear. I got it in case of war, when there will be neither the Internet, nor television - we will learn about the state at the front with the help of old reliable radio waves ...

Advantages: Pleasant to the touch and high-quality body. Scale in aged gray-black with white lettering. At a distance of 25-30 km from Yekaterinburg catches FM on a folded antenna! High-quality dynamics with deep and soft bottoms, very pleasant to the ear. In the position of the TONE - HIGN switch, this is especially noticeable.
Disadvantages: I would add a highlight to the scale and it is a pity that we stopped broadcasting on the LW and MV bands. They saved hundreds of kilometers away from the radio stations :( but these are not Panasonic.
Comment: In the 90s there was a Panasonic cassette player. She had a high sensitivity and reliable seizure of stations in the VHF range. So now I decided to take Panasonic back for the garden. Looked in the internet for a model Panasonic RF-3500. And when I arrived at the store, the seller retargeted to the Panasonic RF-2400EG-K, such as why pay more :))) He did it, and when he arrived home, he was disappointed. It catches mostly powerful radio stations, and sometimes the sound is accompanied by detectable hiss. Maybe I got such a copy? I do not know ... Immediately I went and changed the RF-2400EG-K to RF-3500. When experienced in the garden - this is heaven and earth! Recommend.

Advantages: Great sound, good reception
Disadvantages: Not quite reliable grip signal frequency selection.
Comment: For this cost, the best version of the radio.

Advantages: High sensitivity in all ranges.
Great sound, clean, with bottoms.
Excellent ergonomics: the on-off button and the power connector are located exactly where you need it.
High quality workmanship (with the exception of some moments, which is written below), inside 2 boards, are made with high quality, the details are also of high quality. Everything is cultural, on the connectors.
Disadvantages: There is only one claim - loose adjustment knobs and volume, there is a backlash, too large gaps in the seats. In principle, it is fixable if you need your hands from wherever (I simply pulled off the place where the axis of the setting shaft snaps inside), with steel wire.
Comment: Great receiver. The price bites a bit, would give a maximum of 1500r, it seems painfully tender, although the assembly is of high quality.
About the output under the headphones is not a marriage, only one “ear” really works - this is not a malfunction, but a feature of the panas. I had a pocket RF-P50, the same one, for some reason, they make an outlet for a mono-earphone. Correctable, and very easy.
About the poor reception of the HF range - now all devices are equipped with pulsed power supplies, which greatly interfere with the reception of their own interference, and the computer is a complete generator of interference. Disconnect everything: a TV, a computer with a monitor, chargers - everything from the network, and then you can safely "catch" a lot of stations on the HF, even during the day the Chinese are caught quietly.

Advantages: Excellent sensitivity in the FM range. Good sound. Build quality. Reliability.
Disadvantages: No backlight scale when powered from the network.
Comment: Bought in 2006. The receiver has experienced a lot. Trips to nature, repairs in the apartment (terrible dust) and swimming in the lake. After drying, earned, began to wheeze. When replacing the speaker, I appreciated the quality of the filling and assembly - just super, almost like military equipment :).
Reliable, loyal friend.

Advantages: 1.Quality of reception
2.Quality of assembly
3. The battery life will pleasantly surprise !!!
Disadvantages: On SW, the station is caught at the station. And you need to gently rotate the adjustment knob to accurately catch. But this stuff.
Comment: Expensive, but I do not regret the purchase. For not so rich to buy cheap things.

Used model assembled in Indonesia.

Advantages: The receiver is equipped with a mono speaker, it is quite suitable for playing FM radio, the speaker starts wheezing at a volume above average, for a kitchen 12m.kv. volume is sufficient. The plastic of the front side is of high quality, even the smell is like that of the musical systems of the early 90s. I use it as a stationary radio, so the ability to be powered by AC is very useful. The reception is quite common, like a musician. centers and radio, the absence of high-frequency noise in some cases due to the fact that the receiver is mono. The volume control is fixed somewhat loose, but it is not annoying.
Disadvantages: Expensive, but Panasonic is the same)))
Comment: A pleasant thing does not give the impression of a one-time, which is rare in our time, but time will tell how much this is true.

Advantages: Convenient wide adjustment knob.

Convenient volume control wheel.

Well takes the station.

Good sound.
Disadvantages: You need a habit of tuning stations on short waves, because the bands are compressed: you twist the tuning knob a little and are already far from the desired frequency. It would be more convenient if the receiver had to “stretch” the short-wavelength range in length, then it would have been easier not to slip the required frequency.

No VHF.

No backlight scale.

No digital scale.
Comment: I have been using the receiver for more than five years. Pleased with his work.

Advantages: On a short, medium, long wave-sure reception, excellent sensitivity, selectivity is good! And, as said, the above-catching popular stations with its pretty good compactness.
Disadvantages: It is difficult to find the desired stations due to a very short scale, found even difficult to identify the approximate frequency in kilohertz. Unfortunately, there are no "tropical" ranges (2300-5000 kHz) where the receiver could show itself! The power button does not have in the bag blocking.
Comment: Receiver for SWL, but not for DX!

Advantages: Very good reception in the FM band outside the city (100 km. From St. Petersburg), without an additional antenna. Pure speaker sound - smooth, rich sound. Nice appearance.
Disadvantages: I do not know whether this is such a design feature, or if a marriage is slipped into me — the setting knob seems to be loosened, as if on a spring, it staggers, and sometimes shkryabaet on the body. Unpleasant feeling.
There is no scale illumination, as in the old, good Soviet (and not only Soviet) radios.
Headphone output, as I understand it, is monaural - this is completely incomprehensible.
There is no fine adjustment knob. The receiver is very sensitive (this is a plus!), But on short waves you have to turn the tuning knob very carefully so as not to “jump off” the caught wave, it would be a fine tuning knob, it would be much more convenient.
Comment: Despite all the flaws, I put five stars. I needed a confident FM reception outside the city, without the use of add. antennas. I got it 100%. The machine is worth the money.
