It reads tags, but only in Latin letters. It’s convenient to use flash drives, you don’t need to remember a name, for example, 85 albums on a flash drive, a tape recorder will write a name (but thoughtfully, doesn’t write right away, but after 1-2-3 seconds). not every music center.
Shows the names of the album albums, and when playing at the beginning of the sound, the name of the song, but once, and then only highlights its sequence number.

Disadvantages: Despite the readable tags (text information) the RX-D55 does not have RDS (the text sent by the radio station), the station name does not write, you need to remember on what frequency someone broadcasts.
A 8GB flash drive (Silicon Power UFD ULTIMA II-I) prepares to play for 25-30 seconds, while at my music centers it is determined almost instantly, and immediately the music is inserted.
Radio is not the strongest, Sony Sony CFD-S07CP and Mystery BM-6110U have better radio reception.
Only 16 positions in the memory of radio stations, but she caught so much (with clear sound) out of 31 available ones. Really can catch everything, much more catches stations, but there the sound becomes already with noises and hisses at weak stations (I don’t need it) .
At the stations I left, the sound is very decent and stable, with catching in stereo, in mono it can be better reception.
The transparent window on the cassette is a very thick film.
There is no recording from tapes to USB, only from USB or disk to tape (it can not convert an analog signal into a number, but almost no one can).
Headphone jack at the back, but it's all.
Included are no batteries for the remote.

Comment: Still, for convenience, I have 5 stars for the RX-D55, in general, a very thoughtful and convenient control of the radio, a cassette cover (funky opens), the buttons themselves are comfortable (compared to Sony CFD-S07CP).
If you press the Sound Virtualizer button, then the radio tape recorder noticeably adds as a HF, in stereo and in musicality.
In general, there is no strong bass and super-special crystal-clear HF, despite the presence of ceramic twitter.
The RX-D55 has a sound recorder, not a music center (or a cheap music center, which in general is a radio with speakers).
It is possible to note a good musicality, I would even say that it is musical (only with the Sound Virtualizer button pressed).

If you compare with modern tape recorders Mystery BM-6110U and Sony CFD-S07CP, to replace which this Panasonic was bought, then with the button pressed Sound Virtualizer Panasonic RX-D55 is much better in sound, the sound is larger, deeper, wider frequency range, but RX-D55 and 2 times more expensive.
The sound of the Panasonic RX-D55 corresponds to its price — it significantly exceeds the quality of the radio as a price of approx. 3 thousand, but it loses to the devices by 8 thousand and more.
If you take into account the functionality, USB, cassette deck, then in my opinion, the RX-D55 is a fairly successful model.

Advantages: I hope that the workmanship will be an undeniable advantage! Specifically: the sound quality is above average, loud and quite clean (with CD and USB), if you put your ear to the speaker and make a sound at 1, background noise is heard, at a distance from the device is not critical, about the tape - it all depends on the quality of the source, there is such a thing as sound virtualizer is a cool sound, there is a clock - well, you can set an alarm (I have not tried it yet), and there are also programming stations, though not enough, only 16, but at least something loved (optional), weight is heavy, probably a lot of iron, not plastic, quite tolerable navigation, in basically all control from the remote, so that the remote must be protected. Memorizes a stop on a flash drive.

Disadvantages: Disadvantages: in the yard in 2014! and the memory for memorizing stopping places on a disk is not! I called in Panasonic, they confirmed there - yes, there is no memory, press they say pause, why should I keep it for days? In general, after the "stop" the disc begins again, and there are more than 100 songs on the MP3 disc. There is no memory - a huge minus! Although the batteries for memory are, but they are probably for hours. The receiver is not “super”; some stations do not catch very well, I have a car stereo in the car and it catches better! Comment: Summing up, we can say the following: the quality of these devices decreases over the years, I still remember the old Sharp number, either 555 or 777, that was a car! which sound! and the receiver is good and it was 30 !!! years ago, alas, progress if there is something else not in this area ... and here we have an average radio tape recorder with some significant drawbacks, but if for some it is not important, then the radio tape recorder is quite acceptable, you can listen, judging by the reviews in On the Internet, it is considered the best in the range up to 6000 rubles, I wonder what, then, are the others? I hope that Panasonic will be faithful to its quality and reliability! All good shopping!

Advantages: Pleasant balanced sound, good materials, high-quality assembly (Indonesia), discreet but solid appearance (design "Back to the 90s" :)), a convenient control panel, an equalizer with presets and the ability to independently adjust the high and low frequencies, function "Sound Around" (Surround), re-mastering function (frequency recovery for MP3 records), USB (read 32 GB USB flash drive with 1500 tracks audio), cassette with Full Autostop (also disabled during rewind), line input (you can use the radio as acoustics for com yutera or phone), alarm clock.

Disadvantages: So far I have found only one miscalculation by Japanese engineers :) The music port (aka line input) is turned on only from the console. If batteries sit down, it will be unavailable.

Comment: After careful research of the portable audio market, I came to the conclusion: today there are no competitors to this boombox.

Advantages: The radio tape recorder sounds good at an average volume level, then if you raise it above 30 (readings on the display), the bass is trimmed, this happens forcibly, regardless of the nature of the music - but the distortions are thus nullified. The device is strictly, looks beautiful, nothing superfluous, no light bulbs, projections. Therefore, it is easy to care for the radio tape recorder, to erase the dust is a matter of 2 seconds. USB playback starts quite quickly, when you turn it off, if you do not remove the flash drive, it remembers where it stopped. A 2-way speaker system with bass reflexers is more likely nonsense for devices of this type. The only of the tape recorder which assembly is made in Indonesia.

Disadvantages: The power cord is somehow clumsily inserted, with a click. mp3 tracks don't shake. Although maybe I have not figured it out yet.

Disadvantages: The disadvantages of the lack of VHF, a small LCD display, which is visible only with a sufficient approximation. All control of the radio is available only from the remote control and extremely poor control on the radio itself, only the most basic functions. Sleep timer 30-60-90-120 in my opinion in 15 or 10 minutes increments would be better. Lack of batteries included. Rather narrow stereo 50-60 °.

Comment: Great thing for the right price.

Advantages: Quite a good model for the radio among non-mobile devices, the sound is quite decent, a lot of useful settings for it.

Comment: I love good and high-quality sound. Choose a radio for outdoor recreation. There was an opportunity to compare many models of portable recorders.At the moment, there are no competitors in the quality and sound power of the PANASONIC RX-D55. Very pleased with the purchase.

Advantages: For our small city, the radio works pretty well. High-quality CD playback. High power.

Disadvantages: It is impossible to listen from a WAV flash drive.

Comment: I have a decent stereo at home, so I chose based on sound quality. From available today in runet, this radio is one of the best. When checking the recorder, the Scorpions CD of 2001 with the Berlin orchestra was used. Hearing the music manager was amazed and begged to listen to the entire disc.
