Philips AJ 3400 Reviews

Evaluation 5
Advantages: Large display, high accuracy (quartz!), High-quality radio, neat nice design
Comment: I love network radio clocks for luminous numbers, high volume signal. The main drawback of the overwhelming majority of models assembled on the SANYO LM8560 chip from the 80s and the like is the synchronization from the 50 Hz network. In real conditions, the clock is a little behind in the daytime, then it catches up at night. But as a result, the lag is accumulating. The watch with a quartz resonator is much more accurate, but until recently the network watch with quartz (with the exception of the Soviet ones) did not come across. This model is just like that! Accordingly, the accuracy is at the level of a good wrist digital watch. A large display with 3 cm (1.2 ") figures of a pleasant light green glow and two levels of brightness, does not irritate in the dark like red, and is easy to read, unlike blue. Two independent alarms. Of these devices. A large enough speaker is located at the back. The sound does not hit the frequency range, but it is clear and loud enough. Simple and fine tuning. Powered by a 5 volt external power supply, backup 2xAAA. i. Who has regular problems with the network, can be powered from an external redundant power supply (5V 500mA), but at least in the car. Again traditional clock radios that are not allowed. It is evident that the new modern design. Build quality. I recommend!

Advantages: 1. Quality materials.
2. Green light.
3. A moderately bright glow, at night everything around does not illuminate around itself + you can even lower the brightness.
Disadvantages: for myself not noted
Comment: Bought exclusively for hours to parents. Vision is not very necessary, therefore, large but not huge numbers were needed, plus a slight brightness .. since the Chinese counterparts have a clear disadvantage: the searchlight is shining! It's all fine with that. Light pleasant, do not deliver discomfort at night! Mom is happy)

Evaluation 5
Advantages: A million reviews and everyone writes that catches well. And really do not lie. It catches perfectly, and like many, I also have a wire / antenna stupidly hanging down. In general, it is not clear why many radio receivers catch much worse, and here is the quality.
Huge numbers. Bright, but not squinting. 2 gradations of brightness
Digital FM tuning - you don’t have to turn the torso trying to catch the best quality - everything is clear and the stations are rewound with the button.
Look beautiful, pleasant to the touch
The alarm clock can squeak or turn on the radio
Music plays well for a small single speaker for the money. + Pretty loud and not bursting.
You can set auto-disable who likes to fall asleep on the radio
In the battery compartment, there is even a rope - it pulled and the batteries came out (no need to pick)
Disadvantages: All the buttons are small, black as the body, the signatures are small, the radio button-switch is located among other unnecessary ones. It bothers pretty much. The most necessary buttons are the volume and the radio stations they would like to post or separately make.

+ there are nuances:
Toka FM
Memory at 10 stations - in most cities of our country there is no more, but who needs no more fate or will have to choose the best and introduce them.
2 AAA batteries here exclusively for storing radio station settings and time. According to the instructions, the settings are stored for 2 hours, although in fact much more, it seems.
If you turn off the electricity, then the alarm clock naturally does not work (if it’s honestly this is nonsense - the mobile phone has the best alarm clock, change the melody, write and place the dictaphone, put alarms on the smartphones on the smartphones, or wake you up with live people)
The speaker is located behind and plays back. If there is at least a centimeter of space behind, then there is no problem, and if there is no space behind it or even worse, if you lean against something soft, then the sound will disappear altogether
There is no telescopic iron antenna - the current is black wire, and don't care - it catches super
A little flashing colon infuriates, it would be better not blink
Well, as a fantasy, I would like the radio stations to be entered using names like on TV sets like Sony, RUS, EVR, MOS ...
Comment: Highly recommend. Great clock, great radio, alarm clock.

Evaluation 5
Advantages: + Excellent strict design with a very nice front panel - alive in the interior looks expensive and solid,
+ a perfectly readable large-scale digital display (from 3 meters with -2 vision, norm is visible) with dotted alarm indicators and a blinking separator every second (for 1 second it lights up and goes off, that is, flashes frequently)
+ Excellent tenacious and quiet radio reception (catches better than all the audio equipment in the house, I did not expect it!), convenient setting and assignment of presets,
+ High-quality sound from the speaker without wheezing / screeching at max. volume (emphasis on voice mid-high frequencies, the bass on it did not cut through even after hours of swinging the speaker to maximum volume, which, nevertheless, noticeably improved the sound out of the box, but it's still an alarm clock, not music center, we don’t wait for this Sound for 700 rubles),
+ quite logical, although not entirely intuitive (without instructions initially difficult to understand) control,
+ a very correct alarm clock: 1) dual independent, 2) at first it works very quietly (as with the radio, which is squeaking) and increases the volume VERY smoothly and slowly to almost maximum, 3) after 28 minutes (the engineers saw enough "28 days later" ?) disconnects itself, 4) allows you to "finish it off" for 9 minutes, and after they expire, you will immediately yell loudly, they say, "they woke you up once gently, get up, come on !!", 5) that frequency is turned on with the radio, which was turned off last time (whether on a preset or manually configured),
+ backfill with a choice of off time from 120 to 15 minutes (although it turns off, alas, abruptly, and not smoothly - you could have foreseen this).
Disadvantages: - the front panel and the whole case are awfully attracted to dust, and within a few hours after you erase new dust streaks form - you need to wipe it all the time (maybe it’s from the neighborhood with speakers and TV, I don’t know, but they don’t sticks)
- too light and sonorous case with sound output in the rear wall (i.e. FROM the listener), unreliable fastening of the lid of the battery compartment lid - it can be broken-dropped-lost,
- the screen is very blind in the sun, including due to sticking dust, and with a weak (night) brightness in the light of the digits can not be seen at all, and with a strong (day) under the direct sun barely visible and only on a freshly worn screen (you often at night you wipe the dust so that in the morning you can see the time? I am not, and the windows, however, are to the east ...). That is, choose to watch "a place in the shade"!
- dual-mode brightness makes sense only if the clock is at arm's length, because the manufacturer has not provided for automatic brightness change over time, and as it was said, in the morning / afternoon the night brightness mode is unacceptable (well, if only in winter or in the basement / garage),
- there is no possibility to assign an alarm by the day of the week, you cannot charge your own volume on it, it will not work without electricity in the network, and two AAA batteries according to the instructions support the time memory for no more than a day (I have a 3-battery battery receiver in the kitchen ready screaming for two days at the throat!) - since these are like the features of the model, I included them all in one common flaw.
Comment: Someone may be surprised by the number of deficiencies described by me and at the same time my own rating of 5 - I will explain: in comparison with the radio speakers on the market for a price of 2 tr. This is one of the best. At the same time, and he, of course, is not without drawbacks, which I tried to describe, so that when you buy you understand what you are buying, and there is no disappointment.
At the same time, it is necessary to clearly understand the priorities of this type of device: 1 - clock, 2 - alarm clock, 3 - radio. So, according to the first two parameters, he is an excellent student with a minus, the third one is good with a plus (given the excellent reception quality and quite satisfactory sound quality not only for radio speakers, but in general for compact radio receivers). That is, it will be at least strange and unpleasant to listen to music on it (although it is generally unpleasant to listen to it on the radio, in my opinion, but if it suits the MP3 in 128 bit or it’s just not clear what I’m talking about now, then maybe it’s okay ), but it is convenient to keep track of time and reliably wake up to a variety of pleasant sounds or morning news - the most it!
In general, I am very pleased with the acquisition - for 750 rubles this is probably the best version of a radio alarm clock!

Evaluation 5
Advantages: 1. Inexpensive
2. Digital frequency setting
3. Memory on 10 radio stations
4. Nice exterior design
5. Radio catches great !!! It sounds good.
6. The numbers are big, bright, and contrasting. Two options for brightness.
7. Convenient, simple and intuitive menu
8. Compartment for AAA batteries so that time does not go astray during a power outage
Disadvantages: Volume levels 1 and 2 are almost the same. At volume 1, it plays quite audibly - there is no possibility to make it even quieter (as an unobtrusive background music). Suppose you do not leave the radio at night at such a volume.
Comment: The colon between the hours and minutes blinks.
When the radio is on, time is displayed on the display.
I don't use it as an alarm clock, so it's better to read about this side of the device in other reviews.
There is a compartment for two AAA batteries (as in consoles). When a power outage or just a second failure time does not get lost. BUT! if there is no electricity, time will not be shown and the radio will not work either. Batteries are only needed so that somewhere inside the system time does not go astray and when the electricity is turned on, the correct one is highlighted.
I really liked these clock radios. Absolutely no regrets about the purchase and recommend it to everyone.
How I appreciate the clock for 5+, as the radio is just for 5, like an alarm clock without rating.

Evaluation 3
Advantages: 1. Nice design.
2. Good materials.
3. Sound
4. Functional.
5. The quality of signal reception.

Overall pleased with the purchase.
Disadvantages: The most important and huge drawback, because of which I put 3 points - it is impossible to adjust the volume when the alarm turns on. I bought it to use the alarm clock. I like to have the radio on the weekends in the morning and calmly play the background. But no - here it starts to "vote" on the whole. Everything else is ok.
Comment: Great alarm for that kind of money. Take - you will not regret.

Evaluation 4
Advantages: Stylish, modern design. Simple settings
Disadvantages: 1) At volume 1, I would like it to sound quieter (there is no way to make the sound more quiet)
2) When you turn on the radio, the volume is set to the default level 7 (loud), there is no possibility to customize it.
Smirnova Olesya October 27, 2013, Vologda \ Experience: less than a month
Evaluation 5
Advantages: Big numbers of hours with adjustable brightness: (day - night)
Simple operation, clear fixation of buttons, high-quality plastic.
Digital radio tuning, memory for 10 stations. High-quality sound radio. Electronic volume control and auto-boost sound mode alarm.
There is an indication of the alarm (2 modes) and two independent alarms.
The clock does not get lost when de-energized like a SONY ...
Disadvantages: not yet discovered ...
Comment: These are the clock with the radio and need.
1. A digital radio is easier to tune and the memory at 10 stations allows them to be sorted out (when they get tired). On the analog tuning, you can’t find the station back, you’ll twist the tuning, and here the frequency is displayed.
2. Quartz stabilization of the clock, do not stray when there is an interruption of electricity. On the SONY 205 the clock runs away, constantly having to check the time.
3. Digital sound volume control - convenient when changing stations.
4. The display shows the frequency of the radio station in tuning mode or selecting stored ones. It also displays the alarm mode — on, off, and radio or alarm mode.
I suffered from the SONY 205 - mainly because of the departure of the clock (well, sometimes they turn off the light during the day), you come in the evening from work - and you need to check the clock, although there is also a backup battery, only nothing from it. Well, the radio station on analog receivers is harder to catch, and you already want to change to another - you are tired of the repertoire. Indication of the included alarm - it generally must be on all watches.
Very high quality device. Now I am satisfied.
PS: The people, how can you point out the shortcomings - that the time goes astray if the batteries are not installed, and the power supply disappears? Do you even read the instructions then - this is the backup battery power to store all the settings ...

Evaluation 5
Advantages: Large screen, digital radio, good sound, stylish model.
Disadvantages: the only thing is that you cannot set the alarm to switch on only on weekdays
Comment: Satisfied with the purchase. The settings are clear, no problem. Quality worthy ... well, I advise :)

Evaluation 5
Advantages: Perfectly made, the numbers on the clock are large and read from everywhere. The buttons are very convenient. (All the functions listed in the performance work perfectly perfectly.) I was amazed at the very high-quality receiver. The station catches everything, just with a chic clarity of sound. Super speaker without wheezing and noise at any volume.
Disadvantages: Not
Comment: Radio alarm clock selected daughter, go for the second.
