Advantages: After a not very successful attempt to shoot aircraft on MAKS and birds of prey in the Astrakhan region, I wanted to change the Nikon 28-300 mm lens to a more powerful one. And due to the lack of other options, the choice fell on this lens. Very pleased with this lens. On vacation, taking probably nothing better. A complete set of Sigma in general is the most worthy. Other manufacturers do not make such covers.

Disadvantages: Due to the length of the lens, shooting with the built-in flash is not convenient because of the large shadow. But this problem is completely solved by installing an external flash on the shoe. It’s hard to find filters for this lens (but on-line ... they are there). Of course you can take pictures from your hands, but always. I solved this problem by buying a tripod. There is not a big choice of bags for Nikon D750 + Sigma AF 50-500mm bundle. And they say there are problems with individual instances of customization.

Rented with Nikon D300.The instructions for the lens indicate that shooting with the built-in flash is not possible, because the luminous flux will be blocked due to the large dimensions of the lens. In fact, with the built-in flash in most cases you can shoot, the shadow effect occurs only when shooting from close distances (50-60 cm).
Testing the resolution (and, for one, the stabilizer), I used a 50 rub bill as the worlds; shot from 6 meters at a focal length of 500 mm, from hands (flash, S - 1/60). When enlarging a picture, protective lines in all colors and the smallest line elements of graphic images are clearly visible.
Naturally tested on flying birds; With a good "aiming" on the tracking autofocus, the results are excellent.
On occasion, I filmed a series of shots of an airliner flying at a height of at least 6000 m; In one of the images, the alphanumeric code on the lower wing plane is readable.
