The impression of the phone is twofold, on the one hand it pleases its performance and autonomy, on the other hand, it afflicts a large number of bugs in MIUI 7. Most of these bugs are not critical, but they do not strain much. I probably won't be able to list everything, but those I encountered will try:
1. When using 4G, every 15-20 minutes the network falls off, recovers after 10-15 seconds, it’s not critical, but there are problems when downloading large files (with the same SIM card, the other phone works without problems)
2. A couple of times the phone went into a reboot for no apparent reason, once hung on the boot screen, which is not good for a phone with a non-removable battery, it was saved by a long press of the power button (30-40 sec.)
3.When the fingerprint is locked, the voice control of Google Now does not work.
4. Several times the front camera could not turn on, the camera application gave an error.
5. Notifications from applications. Here maybe my curvature is to blame, but the whole Internet is full of questions that notifications do not come from applications. Tips on unlocking notifications in the Security application did not help me, from some applications, despite the full resolution, no notifications come.
6. A few more bugs, such as a periodic equalizer error in the Music application, are more likely to be bugs of pre-installed applications and are treated by installing alternative software.

Does my review seem to give the impression of a negative one?) But in fact, not everything is so bad, if you use specialized resources, you will find quite a few bugs in devices like monsters like Apple and Samsung. The time is now, marketers decide.In principle, the phone is happy with 90 percent, I will keep for myself, I hope MIUI 8 will win the previous bugs, well, it will not bring new ones).

Advantages: 1. Battery. Finally, I forgot about the power bank and endless recharging. The device lives quite adequately one and a half to two days with an average activity.
2. Performance. The phone has proved itself quite bright: there are no downloads in the menu, games do not lag, I specially took the version with 3 GB of RAM.
3. Customization. I first encountered MIUI (my own firmware from Xiaomi for Android), and at first could not navigate it normally. But after a week of use, everything has become familiar and convenient, the phone can be customized as the user needs, plus a huge selection of graphic themes, display options for clocks, wallpapers, etc.
4. Front camera. Makes a pretty good selfie, and for Skype the most it.
5. Pleasant bonuses in the form of the ability to connect devices via OTG, infrared for controlling household appliances, as well as a fingerprint scanner. I do not know how much all this is necessary for an ordinary user, but, of course, such gizmos add points to this unit.
6. Price. In my opinion, at the moment Redmi 3S is one of the best devices in its price segment, taking into account all the above advantages. But there are also disadvantages.

Disadvantages: 1. Crude firmware. The phone has already been flashed to a stable global firmware 7.5.8.0., The Russian language and Google service were present. I upgraded to 7.5.9.0. And made a reset to the factory settings, as advised on w3bsit3-dns.com. Nevertheless, Chinese slips here and there, several times the camera spontaneously stopped working, the phone rebooted a couple of times, sometimes the names and portraits of callers are not displayed.
2. Build quality. I always use the phones very carefully, but already a week after the purchase, I found a small scratch on the screen that can only be seen if I bring the smartphone to the light. Side buttons are too recessed into the body of the device, a little uncomfortable to press.
3. The main camera. I don’t know, maybe I’ve got crooked hands, but I haven’t yet managed to make friends with the camera, the previous Nexus 5, in my opinion, took clearer pictures, despite 8 megapixels versus 13 in Redmi 3S.

Comment: A very long time choosing a phone after the death of the Nexus 5, eventually settled on this model. I bought the device at a local online store, because I did not have time to wait for a parcel from China, plus I wanted to have some kind of guarantee in case of instability of the smartphone. I took the gray-black version (in my opinion, the most interesting color for this model) version of 3 GB of RAM, that is, with 32 GB of internal memory. While generally pleased with the purchase, I hope this feeling will last for a very long time.
Of course, the described drawbacks of the firmware spoil the overall pleasant impression, but I hope that with MIUI 8, which is about to be released for Redmi 3S, they will leave. I have already ordered two bumpers and a protective glass in order to protect the phone as much as possible from physical impact and make the side buttons more comfortable.
