Do not forget to check when buying a back-front focus (there is an intronet about this). If on all proven lenses backing or front - then it is necessary to adjust the carcass. Do not be fooled by the temptation to take the younger version (50 / 1.8) - it is much worse, and its main drawback - starting from an average range, it smears AF.

Disadvantages: Better for the full frame than for the crop. The latter is more suitable 35 / 1.4, but there is a completely different price tag)

Because of the crop, it is necessary to move farther, in an apartment it is not always possible to move a sufficient distance. The background blurs smartly especially if it is uniform. My acquaintances really like portraits; they always call on the celebration with a camera. Worth the money.

I have been using the a850 for over a year, I tend to think that this is my main lens, well + shirik for interior and landscapes. On f1,4 I will try to post a photo the other day. Svetosila is impressive. Another question is that not everyone is able to properly hold the device when shooting, but at f1.4 plus / minus 1 cm. You can already see. Therefore, who does not have enough sharpness on the open aperture - use a tripod and tell the model not to twitch; =)))

Disadvantages: for such a price they are not!

Comment: A wonderful lens that can give a lot of very nice looking pictures. optically simply gorgeous, working / 1.4 boasts not every lens. so it is worth the money, even though there is no usm motor. However, the need for a motor fifty-fifty does not seem personally to me. It is unlikely that the motor will greatly win in the work of autofocus. Well this is a fifty-five, not megabandura.

Advantages: A cool lens, the depth of field is so small that you need to cover the aperture, in the evening the pictures are just super.

Disadvantages: Very good autofocus does not work well (although the problem may be in a500). And of course I would like an ultrasonic motor.
I switched to manual, but I don’t use the machine at all.

Comment: When installed on the APC matrix - focal 75, when photographing, you need to be patient and a tripod is desirable.
I bought it in my set, I plan to switch to a900 or a850.
