Advantages: Silent (some complained of some sounds, listened, heard nothing)
High-aperture
Sharp on the open
Light
Good stabilization, at 1/10 shutter speed you can sfotkat hands without smearing. On the manual lens (Helios-44M) even 1/50 can get a lubricant.

Disadvantages: It does not focus very fast, especially in low light, the focusing time can be 2-3 seconds.
It happens that it misses the focus - everyone misses if the background is more contrast than the subject.
Chromatic aberrations on the open - sometimes they can be seen only at 100% magnification, and sometimes immediately catch the eye.

Comment: He took it after playing with the manual Helios-44M. Advantages on the face: Working aperture f / 1.8 against f / 4, shutter speed 1/10 against 1/50, well, autofocus. Now I can be in the frame.
I didn’t use Poltos from Canon and Nikon, but I saw pictures of them on the open, the subject definitely makes them open, so the price for it is the same.
My photos from sabzh: http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/chadinpv/album/451197/ originals are saved, EXIF too

Advantages: durable and reliable constructive
basically working 1.8
stabilizer
good for both photo and video shooting (with him, in principle, I didn’t shoot at all in the manual, but why if there was enough autofocus where needed)

Disadvantages: perhaps a little expensive and more bold
Comment: If there is no money for 35, then 50 is the most. It is worth spending money on it. After all, it is beautiful for a portrait and for many others. By the way, he has a very interesting bokeh if the background allows ... there will be a beautiful drawing

Advantages: Price / quality, sharpness, stabilization.
Disadvantages: Autofocus sometimes does not work correctly, it is better to immediately check the picture
Comment: For portraits it is an ideal option, even if it costs more than lenses with adapters, but there is image stabilization and automatic focusing. This lens will not disappoint you.

Advantages: luminosity, sharpness in the center, excellent boke
Disadvantages: slow autofocus
Comment: In my opinion, the best lens for E-mount from all tried (except for Zeiss, I do not have them). Always take with you, even on trips. Sharpness in the center is gorgeous, soft portrait drawing to the waist, not requiring fine-tuning in Photoshop.
I don’t take growth and group photos with him - there’s a small DOF on the open hole, someone is definitely out of focus. If you hold the aperture, then there is no point in this lens, put 18-55 or 16-50, you will get the same quality (lack thereof), only with faster autofocus, and even with zoom - you don’t have to run around with your legs.
But. Somewhat slower autofocus, especially when compared to Nikon lenses. Restless children are very difficult to catch. Also in comparison with the Nikon fifty dollars, the lens is too big for such a compact carcass.
In general, I use the Sony Nex-5N as a second camera to the Nikon D5100 DSLR camera, on the street I take a dark SEPL1650 on the Sony + Sigma 50-150mm on the Nikon, indoors I switch to the aperture fixes SEL-50F18 and 35mm f / 1.8G, respectively. Still, there is often not enough angle, you have to change 35mm by 28mm.
There were SEL-1855, Sigma 30mm F2.8, SEL16F28 - I sold it with relief and pleasure, I would also sell the SEPL1650 because of the low quality of the picture (comparable to SEL-1855), but it hurts in terms of size and speed of autofocus as a traveler zoom.

Advantages: I bought it yesterday, only managed to make a couple of dozen photos and I can say for sure this is the best lens for the money, sharpness, stabilizer and noiselessness.
Portraits, still lifes, etc. - ideal. For a specific shooting narrow angle of view, I will look for a sharp wide-angle.

Disadvantages: They are not there, chromatism can be achieved, but it is insignificant.
Comment: The nex 5 camera and this glass are no worse than the Nikon D90 + 35mm 1.8 DSLR, the difference in focusing speed, but I’m not going to catch the moment when the arrow is taken off the crossbow))) Experience of amateur photographer is 12 years old, everything went from soap cases to good DSLRs, I understand what i say It costs my money, I took exactly the gold for a chervonets — a little expensive, I would like it cheaper, but the same quality of glass for the mirror costs the same.
Continued.
Changed the carcass on nex6. It turned out the perfect compact creative tool. Fifty pleased. All the same, "chromatite") but less than the same 35mm from nikon.
If you are thinking of taking or not taking, take it will not disappoint you for sure, the picture is very beautiful, blurring (bokeh) pleases, especially I “checked it out” during evening portraits against the background of city lights.

Advantages: Optical stub, sharpness, autofocus accuracy, beautiful bokeh, metal body,
Disadvantages: Big length, the design in my opinion ugly, could make at least in black. On my copy, the aperture hole is uneven if the cover is already 5.6, it is also a pity that there are not 9 petals. Someone complains about soap angles up to f / 4, but so far I have only taken portraits and in the corners I needed the opposite blur :)
Comment: The presence of the stub makes this glass unique. Night, bars and concerts - this is his element, can be removed from hands on 1/10. I also want to mention bokeh, which is soft, unlike Nikon D-fifty dollars, and at the same time with character, unlike Nikon G-fifty dollars. It is very reminiscent of the blur at Minolta 50mm 1.7, while you can cover the hole to 2.8 - nuts start only from 3.2. Good glass, I recommend.

Advantages: excellent sharpness on fully open aperture 1.8 ... beautiful bokeh, works very quietly
Disadvantages: as well as all poltosy often smears, it is corrected by putting the central point of focus, the same as on poltoso 1.8 and 1.4 from the SLR
Comment: excellent poltos which is optically superior to the similar poltosas from DSLRs !!! I recommend to all owners of nexes
