Comment: I admire this camera most likely due to the fact that it fully satisfies my needs as a amateur photographer. I used to use different photographic equipment, ranging from camera phones (nokia 1020) and ending with rock cameras with interchangeable optics. Camera phones are good compact, but they need perfect shooting conditions for good shots. SLRs are easy to use, they have large matrices, for a real amateur photographer their dimensions will not be a problem, but the lack of truly universal lenses in fact reduces all their advantages to nothing. RX100 Absorbed all the best from both sides, and thus is considered the best camera of all times and peoples.

Advantages: Large luminosity with compact dimensions and not the smallest matrix - therefore, it also removes well in low light conditions; fast processor. Excellent photo and video quality for a compact camera, USB charging.

Disadvantages: It is somewhat inconvenient to hold with one hand, the button of descent in a hurry is easily confused with the power button.

Comment: I wanted the quality of the pictures, close to the SLR, but at the same time that it was convenient to take on trips. Why Sony, and not more famous photo recorders - fast electronics, which is important for autofocus and image processing. I chose according to the parameters (including the luminosity and the size of the matrix), then I was convinced from the pictures of other users of RX-100 on Yandex that the choice was right.
The video is excellent (unless there is no stabilizer) - I threw out my old video camera without regret.
Charging from micro USB makes life easier, the camera can be charged in the car.
Even once Sonya fell from a belt height (with a closed lens) on my marble floor (lucky, it works fine).
I think I would have managed to close the lens myself when it fell or not (the sensor is and works), but I don’t want to repeat.

Advantages: Photo quality. Sharpness. Matrix 1 ". Carl Zeiss in this case is not marketing words, but it seems to be true. Nicely made, pleasant, real control buttons. Excellent colors. Optics are definitely better than cheap whale from DSLRs. The control ring on the lens. began to use it for everything.

Disadvantages: Very brake. As a reporter camera will not work. From the moment you turn on until the moment when you can take the first shot, you can safely go to smoke. And between frames, too, need to wait. Fujifilm EXR F900 is much faster, at times, and autofocus too (but they don’t do it anymore, but it cost 40% cheaper, though it’s 1/2 there, but 20x optical zoom, but the quality is certainly not comparable with the RX100).

Comment: I do not know if there is any more with such optics and such a size with a 1 "matrix. So sharp that I began to use digital zoom.

Advantages: Size, photo quality, strong battery, 32 GB memory card.

Disadvantages: Expensive, there is no backlight for shooting video and there is no pause.

Comment: Briefly about the most important thing. Chose between a smartphone and a camera. I made the right choice. I photograph in auto mode, the pictures are excellent. The camera thinks for me. It is a pity that when video recording is in progress, there is no possibility to press a pause, and there is no backlight.

Advantages: The large matrix and cool optics from Zeiss with a luminosity of 1.8 work wonders. Soap background on the machine steeper than most DSLRs. Metal case. Fast focusing not only on the photo, but also on the video, which is rare for most devices. The sound quality. The camera is not light, which is quite nice. Compact size allows you to take it with you during any travel. Batteries like all SONY compact rulers, therefore, it is very easy to find and costs acceptable.

Disadvantages: Original accessories are too expensive. It is very easy to scratch the display (if you bought a camera, do not take 100 p on the film, do not repeat my mistakes.) The sticky battery compartment cover. The lack of a 3.5 mm microphone. The HDMI connector is located next to the mount on a tripod, which does not allow sharing.

Comment: I got a camera instead of a Sony a37 DSLR and a TZ1 camcorder. Not sorry for a second. The Zeiss 10.4-37.1 lens (equivalent to 24-70) f1.8-4.9, and such a lens to change a sin, so the absence of a change of optics does not soar at all. The video shoots no worse than the Canon 70d, and often even better (personally checked). Rx100 is perfect for both beginners and pros (Sony is positioning the model as a premium segment). Manual modes for both photos and videos will appeal to photographers, and the built-in filters and an adequate auto mode for fans. In general, I am satisfied with the camera for 100, and if I decide to change Sonya, then only for Rx100 m2, Wi-Fi and the hot shoe are not enough.

Advantages: There are things ... "leaders of groups." When the choice is complicated, each has drawbacks and disadvantages, then they will most likely be advised - buy ryksu. I read this for a year and a half, using a cheaper Sony. Purchased when the phone has already ceased to arrange. After 20 days, with the RX 100 I was convinced that the advice was right.I have many questions, it is difficult to get used to, but it is the best in its class. When the editor of the sites where I write, send "WOW, Boris, do you have a new camera?", This is the best confirmation for good reason. That is, it is not necessary to search for the difference “to get up on the cabinet” in order to feel the improvements. Everything is seen. So: thoughtful serious technique. You can use auto + and be pleased. But for the first time I want to go a little further - to experiment ... Understand. Lack of touch screen, upset, but it turned out good. When a logical system, the wheel is FASTER. For example, I have to change the format 3 times a day from 16/9 to 4/3 - it’s faster to do it on a ryx. Terribly convenient microUSB, after the last device with its own connector format. We charge from everything, do not carry extra on business trips!

Disadvantages: Who moved from DSLRs, that's easy. My past Sony was 2 times lighter and more compact. Getting used to. Yet there is a% rejection on the machine - 1-2-3%. This making more than 1000 photos. The defocus, though well directed, may suddenly turn white blue on a beautiful day. Flash - I do not need, who uses - curse constructors. He jumps up under his finger, the first time, even though he read a hundred times, he almost dropped it. The cover of the power compartment looks flimsy - every day, sometimes I connect it to my computer twice - when will it come off? Praised aperture - waited for miracles, but there is not much difference with the device for 6000. Apparently, it affects only in bad conditions.

Comment: If tomorrow I drop and smash and drown, I’ll definitely buy the same model. This is the best recommendation. There are downsides, but I don’t know better by the sum of factors. Expensive, but satisfaction is complete!

Comment: I travel a lot, and in the form of memory I bring not souvenirs, but photos.
Previously shot on canon 550d + objectives: 50mm canon and tokin 12-24. Once I got tired of carrying this “baggage” and started thinking about a small, compact camera.

Of course, Sony will not replace all the technology that was, but the photos are quite high quality.

Advantages: The matrix and high-aperture lens, which is uniquely large for soap cases, makes it the best soap box for shooting with a lack of lighting. Relatively little noise at high ISO. Also copes well with contrasting scenes. When this is not enough, there are additional features: HDR, night shooting (when a good one is assembled from several shaky and noisy shots with an automatic machine).

Disadvantages: They overstepped with compactness: the smooth, slim body without a protrusion makes the grip somewhat unsure (the feeling that it will slip).

Comment: For my use, the biggest problem with soap dishes is that when there is a lack of light, the frames are simply awful (noise and / or motion blur). To solve the problem, you need to capture more light (more of a matrix and lens aperture), but then the camera becomes far from compact. I bought Sony NEX-5 - yes, the pictures are better, but with the lens it is not at all compact. Moreover, the low aperture of the Kit's lens prevents the large matrix from opening. Here, at the expense of a high-aperture lens, we get the same parameters in the case of an ordinary soap dish. It is very happy.
