Tecsun PL-310

Advantages: Functions ATS and ETM, many functions, small size and good volume for such a device.

Disadvantages: The very first impression was killed by a cheap Chinese building, a little fumbling over the impression exacerbated and badly pressing buttons.

Comment: The receiver with many useful features, but the Chinese bought the American chip in the cheapest case and spoiled everything, I did not like comparing the handsome Sony ISW -SW 11 with the Tecsun PL-310 on the table, the same as the film Beauty and the Beast. There would be an excellent receiver, but only in a normal case and buttons, and a solid three from me.

Advantages: Dimensions. It is really pocket, but it sounds very decent even on the built-in speaker!
Remarkable sensitivity, high quality reception (thanks to the DSP processor).
The ability to charge batteries without removing from the case.
Economical power consumption.
Auto-tuning feature - ATS.
Indication of time and temperature alarm clock.
Full VHF + FM band.
Adequate price.

Disadvantages: The abundance of functions requires reading the instructions :-)

Comment: Despite the microscopic size of the Tecsun PL-310 is a very serious device. At first I bought one as a gift, but after playing for a week I could not resist and took it myself. The receiver shows excellent results in FM, however, judging by the reviews on the thematic forums, it is excellent for DX-ing. Tecsun PL-310 is very convenient for those who often travel on business trips. It practically does not take up space, economically consumes batteries, which can be recharged from USB without removing from the case and, at the same time produces a clear sound of sufficient volume. All preparation for work is to press the ATS button and wait a few seconds. The receiver will scan the air in the selected range, memorize the radio stations, and further switching between them will be performed by rotating the encoder.
I strongly recommend to read the instructions before operating! Without it, you can hardly reach many "tasty" functions - setting the limits of the FM (VHF) range, frequency tuning step on the MW, switching on the LW range (this may be necessary if the device is imported), choosing the bandwidth, turning on the battery mode ...
Summing up: although I use the Tecsun PL-310 only in the FM band and do not use a fair amount of its capabilities, I never felt that I had overpaid. This receiver for travelers, summer resident, tourist - a real find!

Advantages: Compact size, good sound, great reception, adequate price.

Disadvantages: Not yet discovered

Comment: I bought as a gift, the main criterion was the VHF range. The receiver is assembled with high quality, the sound is good for such an envelope. UKV and FM are at altitude, the other ranges are later, they are not so important for me.

Advantages: Beautiful and compact body. Pleasant to the touch. Low weight. Confident reception. Built-in ambient temperature sensor. There is a jack for an external antenna.

Disadvantages: Small speaker in connection with a compact body. Miracles from the sound should not wait. No Ssb and Aviation. :)

Comment: A great receiver to take with you on a trip. For hiking the most it.

Advantages: VHF, 100 cells per range (believe 10 is very small). Valcoder on the frequency and volume controls. There is a shutdown timer. Backlight display. Battery indicator

Disadvantages: Expensive, for the price of mobile with radio.
The auto search step in the VHF range is too large, it can slip through the station. The Time button did not work, I had to disassemble and fix the rubber.

Comment: After analog I am delighted, the wave does not swim away, the quality is excellent. You can normally listen to AM (dv, sv). I scanned all bands, memorized the stations, now the frequency knob simply switches between stations. Immediately buy batteries and switch to battery mode. (When they sat down, grandmother threw them away and bought batteries)
