Disadvantages: The cord from the kit is a bit short. Removing the disc from the case is difficult, it is not sealed, only on the latches, but they are quite fragile and break, the case is actually disposable due to the latches.

Comment: The full name of my external hard drive is TOSHIBA Canvio Basics 500Gb Black (HDTB305EK3AA). Other manufacturers use hard drives with USB interfaces inside the boxes, and not Sata. In case of failure of the built-in controller board, it is rather difficult to write off data from such a hard drive. The design with a SATA hard drive and a separate controller board is more reliable (look at the reviews of other buyers of this product). I personally will buy an external hard drive with built-in USB only in case of extreme hopelessness, while there is an alternative with Sata I will buy with Sata a hard drive and a separate controller card, as in this model. I assume other models of external hard drives TOSHIBA have the same design and it is worth paying attention to them if this model goes out of sale.
