Disadvantages: It is very important to monitor which phone you buy, many stores with a good rating and not very high prices, as it turned out, tend to sell gray phones from China that do not have normal support, NFC does not work correctly (I’m talking about Google Pay , although other applications also sometimes swear) and not the fact that they will be serviced in the official service center, so you need to be careful with this.

Also, the system (MIUI 10), at the moment, has a lot of flaws.

Face unlocking works instantly and you are immediately thrown onto the application screen, so if you want to see notifications, you have to either open the shutter or turn the phone at such an angle that it doesn’t recognize your face, I hope over time will give the setting option.

The permissions settings are not completely obvious, some of the parameters are in different places and duplicate each other. I have a third-party Google Play, because the Chinese operating system. Initially, he coped and downloaded everything well, then I found applications that he refused to install. To fix this, I (accidentally) could find these permissions in Battery and Power> Battery Usage> Battery Use> Choose application> Details> APP Permissions

Comment: I tell my story, which can be useful and will warn someone with the purchase. He took this phone from the list offered on the market, chose one of the stores with a good rating. They brought the phone in Chinese packaging, which then did not bother me much. At first, I was happy about everything, but then the problem with non-performing NFC surfaced.

The problem was in the unlocked loader of the system, which for the correct operation of Google Pay needed to be blocked. After checking the internet, I found out that if you block it on a Chinese phone that has a global system (which I had preinstalled), you will get a brick. As a result, I decided not to touch it so that this did not happen, but I turned to the official Xiaomi store, naively believing that they would solve the problem there. The local consultant decided to prove himself and after ten minutes the phone was ruined for me.

I was very lucky and I was able to reanimate him by means of a master after 4 days, now it is more difficult to do it, as far as I know.

After it was restored, I already received a phone with a locked bootloader on the official Chinese firmware with English and English in most applications, which is not a problem for me. Now it is correctly tied to my account and in a month it can be unlocked and, if desired, you can install any other operating system for yourself.

I understand that this is my first experience on android + some of the problems associated with unsuccessful OSes and other things, so be patient. I think that in a month the phone will get used to and the problems will be solved, not sure about the contactless payments. There are ways there, but they seem to me collective farms.

Comment: I have to say that I am a fan of Xiaomi. I advise each of my relatives, friends and acquaintances to take Xiaomi wisely! In general, I waited mi8 from June! And so I bought it!) The first impression is a bomb! I had xiaomi mi 5s with installed Gcam, thanks to which the phone was very cool! So, the Mi8 is a bit unusual in the hand (you need to get used to it for a couple of days, it’s more than mi 5s), it just has an awesome Screen (I enjoy it every time), the power is prohibitive, the main camera is excellent (but so far the raw firmware and it shoots in different modes in different ways , then he smears his face, then something else), but most of all I was struck by the front camera, it is simply amazing (at least for me).
I liked everything in the phone, except for raw software and an unlocked bootloader (they couldn’t install the firmware in another store), because of this, Gpay does not work and we need to think about how to solve this problem in the future! (if someone can intelligibly tell or throw off the link of the video, site, etc., I will be grateful).
The phone is really a bit like the Iphone X, but it costs 30,800 p. (I took for this price), but not 60000 + p. I did not regret my choice for a minute! The phone is worth the money, the only thing is if you have time, then it may be worth waiting for the official firmware (they say they will probably be released closer to September), but I could not wait and now enjoy it!) Comment: Transferred from the iPhone 6s plus, the choice fell on the Mi8. I can say that in many respects it is better than the iPhone (the comparison was made with the relative’s smartphone, iPhone X). Mi8 c pays back the money invested. Disadvantages: No wireless charging. Fingerprint reader on the back. There is no 3.5 "headphone jack (although the included is a Type-C adapter - 3.5" jack, I'm not going to use it).
