Advantages: Price + quality keyboard + sound quality = reasonable expectations from Yamaha
Disadvantages: I'm fine, I was looking for this)
Comment: Someone may find the tool simple, but do not confuse: we choose everyone for ourselves. Personally, everything suits me, from price to sound. An interesting color, denoted by the letter "C" ... who does not pursue identity with acoustics, but wants high-quality sound from Yamaha - you will not regret.

Advantages: From a number of similar in price and capabilities of competitors, the Yamaha-142 compares favorably with sound, key quality (no backlash, smooth-lacquered), and quality manufacturing.
Disadvantages: Very pleased with the quality and convenience of purchase, for me there are no minuses.
Comment: I am not an expert, I can’t estimate the subtleties - I don’t play, but I listen well :). The instrument bought the child for learning (even before the global increase), while I was interested in the maximum similarity of the keyboard + sound with an acoustic piano and the ability to turn down the volume in the evening (+ the ability to use headphones for the same purpose). Additional bells and whistles / settings were not needed, we do not use them (we indulged in trying to make a purchase, and forgot as superfluous). At the final stage of choosing a tool in the store, I listened to the game of the seller for the Casio-260 and Yamaha-142, which were identical in price and capabilities. No comments were required, Yamaha won (+ Casio has rough compared to Yamaha keys and a sliding keyboard cover that looks like a door-screen doesn’t inspire confidence).

Advantages: Solid appearance (rosewood), decent keyboard, good sound (in external speakers).
Disadvantages: Curved control, without 1.5 liters can not figure it out. If you lose the instruction it is absolutely unrealistic to install anything other than changing the voice and recording a song. The instruction is very short, as usual in a million different languages and from the category should not be dropped and used only for its intended purpose. So, to set the reverberation level (and everything else), you need to hold the one button to the left, find the desired octave, in it the necessary key and press it. God forbid to confuse this octave, then you will think whether you have pressed it or you should. And so with all the functions, including any software hr.n type midi, etc. In general, fat minus management.
The power supply unit in the best Chinese traditions, and, moreover, squeaks.
The sound is very similar to the piano, but the sustain pedal is a rather vile aftertaste with ufologic howling vibrations. As well as a small, not noticeable at the beginning, but if you listen, then the high harmonic cutting the ear, which fits in when the fort is on the middle and higher octaves.I want to note that these sound imperfections can be heard in the headphones, and when playing outside, this is not noticeable.
Under the pedals ugly screw support, sticking out the bottom wires of the pedals and power. And this stupid Yamaha badge that reminds me of plastic motorcycles and something from nuclear power.

Comment: This is my second similar tool. The first Casio Celviano, which I bought 15 years ago and which now stands with my parents. In principle, probably, they cannot be compared, as progress goes by leaps and bounds, but for the convenience of switching functions, Casio is much steeper. But Yamaha is still better in sound and tactile sensations. Casio has a more “keyboard” nature (there is a greater focus on functionality than on the piano's identity), although I don’t want to build slander on modern models, maybe they also did not stay at that level.
I liked the works from 50 Greats very much, they played a lot of soul and neatness. The plump collection of notes of these works also pleased.
In general, to be honest, I would not have bought this piano again, I think that it was necessary to focus on the instrument from one and a half thousand am rubles. Well, well, what has been done, all the more so is not that I am a pianist, it will do for home music.

Advantages: Great real sound. Transparency and ease of sound. Nice keys. High quality workmanship.
Disadvantages: Lack of handles for transportation on the box (objectively, well, there is nothing to complain about)
Comment: Chose for the child beginner learning. Initially looked at the Casio initial price range. After listening to them in the store, I realized that I needed to increase the budget. I listened to older Casio models (at 2-2.5 more than the initial budget) .. I thought about it, but I was still very embarrassed by the sound. Crushed, deaf and some kind of "canned". I first sinned on the store's premises, but having listened in different rooms I realized that this was their sound. Then he went to listen to Yamaha. Literally from the first chords everything fell into place. Live free sound, dynamics, mood. Everything is in place. Although I do not play myself, the sound is so shocked and fascinated that I wanted to sit down and play myself. The instrument inexplicably radiates positive energy, giving rise to the desire to play on it. And this was confirmed by the state of the child: delight in the eyes, the desire to jump to the ceiling for joy and constant sitting down for the instrument (you already have to drive it away). :-)
With regards to quality. The keys are made very high quality. Both tactile sensations and the accuracy of transmission of the acoustic piano mechanics are pleasant.
Additional "buns" are standard: 10 voices (of which 3 are "pianos", 2 synthesizers, organ, jazz organ, xylophone, violins and harpsichord), a metronome, adjustment of keystroke sensitivity, connection to a PC, etc.
So the tool fully justifies its price. If you want a good and high-quality instrument - do not be stingy and buy a Yamaha (of course, older models sound even better, but here’s how thick the wallet is).
Casio .... if only: a) indulge b) for show off c) you clearly understand what you are buying and why.
And if you are told in the store that Yamaha is more expensive only because of the name - spit the seller in his false eyes and go to another store.

Advantages: High-quality sound, identical to this piano. 10 timbres, the ability to combine timbres, the ability to add reverb effects (room, hall, small room, stage) to the sound, the ability to adjust the depth of reverberation.
Disadvantages: At first it seemed that the model is very quiet. Namely, in order to play normally in the middle room, the volume knob must be turned to 3/4. But then I got used to it and realized that for the room it was louder and not necessary.
Comment: Great tool, solid appearance and sound. On some models email. Piano for sound is characterized by a small "synthetics", on this model there is none at all.
