Comment: However, the Yamaha YSP-5600 has enough positives to justify the price. If you are ready to spend more than $ 2000 and make a small permutation in the room for the perfect surround sound - this audio system is for you.

Comment: Should I buy a YSP-5600? If you need a soundbar with Dolby Atmos support and, in perspective, DTS: X, then this Yamaha is the only possible choice for today. Without denying the fact that this soundbar is large and expensive, one must admit that the YSP-5600 can create a stunning effect of immersion in sound using sound projector technology. In the beginning, we would have a certain skepticism regarding the soundbar's ability to play Dolby Atmos soundtracks, comparable in quality to that provided by our component system 7.2.4. However, using familiar video clips as test ones, we were surprised by the similarity of the sound of the soundbar and the real DC. Although the YSP-5600 can never really completely replace a component system with a full set of acoustics, it is much easier to place it in a room and it will be much less noticeable in the interior.
However, for the time being most of the available content does not have Dolby Atmos or DTS: X tracks, it’s very important how well the YSP-5600 copes with playing multi-channel audio in common formats. The speaker did not disappoint us, and, thanks to Yamaha’s vast experience in creating sound projectors, the soundbar reproduced a pleasant surround sound that evenly filled the listening room. When watching movies, the sound was dense and rich, but at the same time, the dialogues sounded clear and legible, which was especially important when watching television. The bass was also of high quality, the built-in woofers of the soundbar worked quite efficiently, and with the addition of an external subwoofer, it could be easily integrated into the overall sound. If you like Yamaha's proprietary DSP, then there are various modes and sound settings at your service, although we chose to turn it off. In addition, the YSP-5600 plays music well, which will be very useful given the support of the Yamaha MusicCast multi-room system.
Given that the soundbar YSP-5600 is equipped with various functions even beyond what you would expect from a model of this class, the limitations in its HDMI switching are surprising. If the lack of support for HDR can still be understood, then just one input with HDCP 2.2 is a serious disappointment. And if immediately these restrictions do not play a big role, then in the future they may become a serious problem. If someone decides to pay about $ 2,850 for a soundbar and a subwoofer, we are almost certain that he will not want this system to become outdated in the near future. And despite the sound quality of the YSP-5600 that we highly rated, due to the limitations of HDMI connections, we are forced to assign only the “Recommended purchase” icon to this model.
