Since the last version of the ranking of the best perforators was compiled, Bosch was able to reanimate some confidence: if then he somehow climbed into third place, he now deserves a strong second. So, in terms of impact energy, he is definitely among the leaders among single-battery models - 2.6 J! Compare with its predecessor on the conveyor - model GBH 18 V-EC (which, in fact, failed in the rating almost a year ago): there it was possible to count only on 1.7 J.

In general, since we are talking about two perforators from the same line, but of different generations, I’d like to appreciate the “work on mistakes” by Bosch. In addition to the growth of power, which allowed to increase the diameter of concrete drilling from 18 to 26 mm, the new perforator got constant electronics supporting rotational speed under load, conveniently connecting the dust removal system (namely, the old model did not like dust). But, what is especially important, here at last a full-fledged vibration isolation of the handle appeared: the rear handle “floats”, increasing the comfort of working in the percussion mode at times.

An additional switch appeared on the case, activating the EPC system - it changes the motor control algorithms, which makes it easier to work with fragile materials. Has it ever been necessary to drill a hole through an already laid tile? Bosch will significantly reduce the likelihood of chipping the tile surface in the drilling zone and, especially, the occurrence of cracks.

Finally, the battery "moved" - if earlier it was attached to the front, spoiling the weight distribution and collecting all the dust, now it is attached under the handle. Remember that last time we had serious complaints about the mounting of the battery? Well, Bosch showed here that he can work on bugs. And only the inner voice in the author's head prodded quietly: “Well, it was already time to learn and not to make a mistake at all ...”

In the trump cards of the "Makita", issuing impact energy up to 2.4 J, not only power. Let's start with the motor - using a brushless motor, the creators endowed with a punch and efficiency, and minimum maintenance requirements. For the perforator, the absence of brushes rubbing against the collector is good, and because it reduces the sensitivity to abrasive dust, and it’s for them - the element.

The weighting of the perforator is good - the motor and gearbox are close to the hand, the battery under the rear handle "delays" part of the load on itself. So, although this model weighs more than 3 kg, it sits in her hands much more comfortable than traditional-style perforators. We note in particular that this model (as well as a number of other Makita cordless drills) has a vibrating decoupling of the battery: even with large amounts of work there is no risk that the contacts and battery retainer will start to be loosened by the vibration. Instead of a standard battery, you can install a more capacious one, for 4 ampere hours instead of three: this will be useful, for example, when working at a height where you don’t run up to the charger once again.

Of all this model, which is not entirely clear, is the case case: it is, of course, durable and good in appearance, but all as one the owners of the DHR242RFE note its excessive size and "stupidity."

This puncher could claim to be professional if it were more powerful - yet 2 J for constant use in hard work is frankly not enough. But on the other hand, the creators approached the construction wisely and thought over the instrument to the smallest detail. Firstly, it is compact enough, although it weighs solidly - 3.3 kg. Secondly, it has a reliable vibration protection, and not only the hands, but also the lithium-ion battery itself - when you first get it in your hands, however, many people have the question “why does the battery hang out”? In fact, it does not “hang out”, but “is fixed on a flexible suspension” - it is unusual, but the resource is sensitive to vibrations and an expensive lithium-ionic saves. Its capacity is small (3 ampere-hour), but in practice, having the ability to turn on the charger, you can make sure that this is the optimal balance between capacity, autonomy and charging time: while one is discharged, another will have time to charge.

Fixing the cutting tool - SDS-Plus (more about the differences - at the end of the article). For drills with a diameter of up to 32 mm, it is actually standard, so there will be no problems with the purchase of the tool. The perforator has a mode of impact-free drilling, the maximum rotational speed is 950 rpm, moreover, with electronic stabilization. But the drill chuck is not included.

The main unpleasant moment in the BHR242RFE was its sound: using a high-speed motor to reduce power consumption, Makita’s engineers would be forced to work only in ear protection, otherwise the cacophony that beats the ears will quickly tire the ears. If our Revenge to the Neighbors category were in our ranking of the best perforators, Makita would get a decent place there.

Designers of this puncher were obviously fans of Michael Bay films. But in practice, this fruit of the sinful intercourse of Bumblebee and Optimus Prime shows itself with dignity, earning a place in the ranking of the best perforators.

This is one of the most powerful battery models on the market: the impact mechanism produces up to 2.3 J, and a minimum of vibrations is transmitted to the hands of the operator. The credit for this belongs not only to the anti-vibration system. but also the punch weight is 3.5 kg. It would seem a little more than the "Makita", but in reality it tires when working on weight much faster.

The battery capacity here is 4 A * h, but the designers did not achieve a balance of capacity and power consumption: the battery is discharged faster than the second one is charging. Actively using the tool, you will have to put up with work on a permanent undercharge or more often take a smoke break.

Compared with the "Makita", AEG won only in the mode of hammerless drilling on small diameters - here the increase in maximum speed (1400 against 950) significantly affects the performance. The rest of the AEG loses.

Although the battery tool has always been a strong point of DeWalt, their punch was not the best. In the description of the previous models, we did not in vain mention the weight distribution: having picked up this yellow-black “dachshund”, you understand how much more convenient the same Bosch or Makita are. Although DeWalt weighs a little (only 2.3 kg), but the engine and gearbox carried far in advance immediately make themselves felt, twisting the right hand brush if you try to hold the tool with one hand.

However, he has clear advantages. The impact energy is 2.6 J, one of the largest in this segment. In combination with the high frequency of strikes, this gives us good performance, but this is where the main disadvantage of this model comes from. Alas, there is no vibration tie: the manufacturer decided to do only with rubber pads on the arms.

It corrects the price position: even taking into account the fact that it is indicated for the "carcass" without batteries and chargers, DeWalt is much more accessible than models from the top positions of the rating. If you already have any tool on 18-volt DeWalt batteries, then the purchase will be even more interesting.

Special perforations are not needed for this punch - in our market it is already a long-lived person, besides being in fact an improvement on the even more well-known model 2450. Improvements are obvious at first glance: the handle has acquired a more ergonomic shape (besides, with a vibration-proof pad, which, to be honest , the old man 2450 was still not enough), the reverse mechanism was updated, as was the case with all other Makita drills and perforators: if earlier the checkbox above the key only changed the polarity of the winding, then now the side slider shifts the brush assembly Maximum maximum torque on the reverse and saving brush life.

One of the “narrow” places of the old model was a cartridge, obviously weak for a model that was often used in heavy work - the fixation of the tool disappeared, and when the concrete was drilled deep down, pulling the drill, the operator left him hanging around the bottom: the retainer efforts were not enough to pull the tool out. The new cartridge is noticeably stronger, which can not but rejoice.

As a result, the punch was somewhat heavy and lowered the impact energy (from 2.7 to 2.4 J on the passport), but in practice this did not cause a decrease in performance.But the gearbox, already strong enough, has become even stronger, which ultimately makes a good application for suitability for professional use. If it were not for minor flaws caused by the transfer of production to China (and funny in fact - sometimes poorly soldered contacts, hard wire), the puncher could claim in the ranking of the best and to higher scores.

It was difficult to pass by the Bosch professional series in the review of the best network perforators, but it was impossible to avoid disappointments with a close acquaintance with the models on the market: by creating a perfect vibration damping system with counterweight (the same mechanics are now hard-wired, for example, in automatic small arms) , the engineers of the German concern failed to make it work reliably, and complaints about the wedges, overheating and fuzzy switching of modes are not uncommon. So, of all the perforators produced in the “blue” series with a percussion energy of up to 4 J, the only worthy option to buy is GBH 3-28 - the only thing that needs attention in it is lubrication of the gearbox (change on time, and with a large amount of work). It should be used more dense) and the need to protect the cartridge from the ingress of dust during vertical drilling - the SDS-plus retainer is sensitive to contamination. Fortunately, the problem is solved literally by improvised means - a plastic or rubber wheel at the base of the drill.

Taking these nuances into account, you will get a reliable and efficient tool: with its 800 W power and 3.1 J impact energy, Bosch perfectly drills and hollows brick and concrete without tiring the operator's hands: the anti-vibration system works perfectly and the punch deserves to become a leader in terms of vibration protection rating. An additional plus is the ability to quickly replace brushes and cable: the first, whatever one may say, is a consumable, but changing the broken cord without disassembling the entire punch on any other one will fail.

The most affordable punch from among those presented in this category is also the most powerful - the impact energy of it reaches 3.8 J, albeit at a lower frequency (3000 beats per minute, with competitors - above 4000). However, in many cases, it is the impact force that decides, not their number per minute, so taking into account the price, the Zubr becomes an interesting option for purchase.

Let's just say: the price has its reverse side. For example, the stiffness of the safety coupling when a drill meets a stone will immediately manifest itself as a tangible jerk. Compared to its counterparts, the Zubr is the heaviest (weighing more than 4 kg), and it is the most difficult for them to work on weight (especially considering the layout, which has a strong preponderance). In addition, the plastic case of the gearbox does not inspire confidence - and this is despite the fact that the conventional impact drills also have aluminum ones in the model range of the Bison.

The price for the "blue" series for the model GBH 240 (in fact, this is already a well-known model GBH 2-24) is very attractive. But, on the other hand, the suspicion involuntarily creeps in that it has been thoroughly simplified to obtain low cost.

Indeed it is. Let's start with the power: the 790-watt motor allows you to count on drilling holes in concrete with a diameter of up to 24 mm, the maximum impact energy is 2.7 J. Not to say that this is a lot for professional use - although the model is referred to as “blue”, but rather suitable for amateur practice. Moreover, the outer part of the gearbox housing made of plastic here is not only a matter of strength (plastic and has long taken root in firearms), how much cooling: aluminum would allow dissipating heat much faster. Of course, Bosch claims that the standard for the professional series is up to 16 hours of work per day, but we will not check it on the GBH 240.

It is also worth pointing out the minimalism of vibroprotection - there is only a rear pad on the rear handle, and it is rather thin and works more for holding comfort than for real reduction of vibration. GBH 2-24 also had this problem, and remained in the “legacy” of GBH 240: yes, it seems, we praised Bosch above, speaking about working on the bugs ...

Of the three rankings of the best professional drills, DeWALT has the lowest performance - the smallest electric motor power (1250 W) and impact energy (12 J) have an effect. But the advantages cannot be challenged - it is also the lightest (weight slightly less than 7 kg) and the cheapest: in combination with proven reliability, it is clearly worthy of choice.

Low weight initially caused suspicions of high vibration load, but here DeWALT engineers were surprised: if AEG managed due to almost twice the weight and vibration isolation of the handles, then the lightweight D25602K has active vibration damping with a movable counterweight, as well as damped mounting of the rear handle, and eventually vibrates even less.

On this interesting technical solutions do not end: the engine is connected with the gearbox is not a gear, and a chain drive, located in common with the gear oil bath. The use of a liquid lubricant ensures reliable delivery to the loaded friction pairs and their improved cooling, although there is also a reasonable suspicion that over time it will begin to leak.

Another “feature” of the perforator is an adjustable safety clutch with a two-step change in the maximum torque. For a professional high-power tool, this is important: when working with small and medium-diameter drills, a softer response is needed to preserve tacking; for drills and large-diameter crowns, the maximum torque of the coupling should increase.

Having lost AEG in performance and ergonomics, Makita can oppose the presence of slotting mode - if you need a good drill and for drilling and slotting, and there are not enough opportunities for DeWALT, you should look at this model.

HR5001C can not be called easy, but for a one-and-a-half kilo punch, a weight of just over 10 kg is the norm. It’s a pity that instead of a convenient D-shaped side grip, this is a regular straight line, working horizontally with the “Makita” is much less convenient than with the AEG PN 11 E. the cartridge is easy to unlock and has reliable dust protection. The impact energy is 17.5 J, however they follow with a greater frequency than that of the AEG, so in most cases the perforators will demonstrate equal performance, but the level of vibrations and noise of the Makit is higher.

Do not forget to note the presence of the wear indicator of the brushes: it will not allow to miss the moment of replacement, it is especially important because there is no automatic shutdown of them in case of excessive wear.

It seems that the Bosch designers at the time of the creation of this punch were tormented by nostalgia - somehow it clearly refers to the spirit of the eighties. Moreover, the designers argued engineers: for example, the grille around the “nose” of the gearbox, which, in theory, should protect the hand from contact with a hot body, in practice, quickly clogged with dirt.

Of the benefits, we note the excellent vibration protection of the rear handle: it is suspended on two dampers. Therefore, it goes to the left hand, which holds the front handle: that for an expensive tool looks frankly alien, as if it was quickly unscrewed from a budget tool. Gentlemen, the 2010s are already running out in the yard, and the vibration protection of additional handles is now the norm! Honestly, it is this handle that most spoils the impression of a good overall tool.

Outwardly and according to the main characteristics, the Metabo suspiciously resembles the AEG - even the folding D-shaped handle is similar in design. Recently, however, the manufacturer has clearly “optimized” its puncher, and we have become accustomed to not bringing these “optimizations” to good.

But let's start better with good. Giving out blows with energy up to 20 J, the puncher copes well with chiselling, and the 1.7 kW of motor power allows not to fail when working with crowns and nozzles-mixers. The handle has a damping, in the control engine of the electronics there is a mode of smooth increase of power, which facilitates drilling. As a result, the puncher, though heavy, is convenient and does not tire with vibrations when working with a chisel.

But the bad - in the design of the safety clutch. No one will deny its necessity for a powerful perforator, and the loads on it are substantial. But, if initially KHE 96 were equipped with metal couplings, now the plant uses plastic. You understand that this affected the reliability is not the best way. It's a pity, but we have to admit: recently Metabo has more and more complaints in terms of quality, and this once again proves that “optimization” is more a curse than a dignity. Therefore, it is preferable to use Metabo KHE 96 for chiseling: here we have no complaints about it, but drilling of heterogeneous materials can lead to an unpleasant surprise.
