Comment: I use 3 months. Prior to this were the usual Logitech 2.0. I chose for a long time, I wanted to find a decent option, because I often use a computer (I listen to music, I play games). I stopped at the Z906, because I trust the reliability and quality of Logitech. The price, of course, bites, but it is worth it. When unpacked and installed, I was pleasantly surprised. This is incredible !!! Bass is simply impossible, and the high frequencies reproduce well! When I turn on the system at half the volume, the walls begin to vibrate! I get incredible pleasure from music. In shooters, it feels like you're in the middle of a shootout. Never regretted the purchase. I hope the others have the same opinion.

Advantages: 2 optical inputs and many others.
Decoder DTS and DD.
Compact design allows you to fit into almost any interior.
It is possible to mount on the wall using additional brackets with an inch thread.
The subwoofer and the control unit are spaced apart - the woofer can be placed aside, and the control is next to the rest of the equipment.

Disadvantages: Not yet discovered.
I do not consider the problem of fixing with an inch thread as a problem for many - a turner / fitter and / or minimal metal working skills make it cheap to make.

Comment: At the moment, actually the only cheap version of 5.1 acoustics with optical input. Suitable for connecting to many TVs and compact media players without using an AV receiver.
The only alternative, the cheaper Sven HT-435D, is of too poor quality, requires debugging with a soldering iron, and has fewer inputs.

Advantages: Wonderful set.
+ Excellent plays 5.1 in movies from a player connected via optics, DTS and AC3 tracks. If the track is stereo (in TV shows), then it expands in 3D with a bang, a voice from the center, a stereo effect on the side, background sounds on the rear satellites.
+ I listen to music less, but I was pleased with the unfolding at 4.1, the room can be easily turned into a dance floor)
+ The subwoofer draws good bottoms, did tests .wav music tracks, with recorded sounds at different frequencies. Even 20Hz is already beginning to buzz in saba, but the very peak around 50 Hz, everything starts to vibrate as much as possible.
+ Enough long wires for connecting satellites, 3.5 and 7.5 meters, was enough for me, plus they can easily be replaced by others, because spring clips in satellites and on the saba.
+ I liked the quality, everything is weighty, monolithic, nothing rattles anywhere.
+ Separately, I want to note how everything was packed in a box (there are two of them, the one with the inscriptions and pictures still in the shipping brown). Each element is packed conscientiously (to the last satellite, the nerves began to donate :))

Disadvantages: Found no significant
I can point out only one drawback:
- Non-standard mount for hanging satellites, 1 / 4-20 inch thread, but solvable (see comment)

Comment: Having decided to hang these columns, I ran into (like many here) with non-standard thread for the RF, it is 1 / 4-20 inch.

This is a set of 4 bolts and washers, fixing something there for wakeboards. For my struts they turned out to be a bit long, but they are solved by putting a pair of washers under the bolt head. The price certainly bites, but as an option it can help someone.

Advantages: 1. A huge number of inputs, both digital and analog.
2. Clean, powerful sound.
3. Simplicity and convenience of setting.
4. Pretty low price for this class of speakers.
5. Build quality.

Disadvantages: 1. Fastening on the wall is designed for inch bolts.
2. The first channel on the console is assigned to one of the analog inputs, and not to the digital one.

Comment: After the purchase, I immediately threw out the cable that was included, and used high-quality bimetallic cables with a conductor diameter of 1.5 mm to connect the speakers. The speaker system is extremely liked.

Details about the merits:
1. Incredibly large number of inputs:
- Analog input 5.1 - three 3.5 mm jacks
- Two Toslink digital inputs (optical)
- Digital coaxial input
- Stereo-in - two RCA connectors (tulips)
- Additional stereo input on the console - 3.5 mm jack. It is extremely convenient, you can connect the player and not climb on the back panel of the subwoofer.
- Bonus - stereo output - 3.5 mm jack on the console, designed to connect headphones.

The speaker was purchased for use with a media player, since the last 5.1 output was only optical, but later my whole farm was connected to this acoustics, namely, a computer and a media player with Toslink cables, the second computer - to an analog six-channel input. I also periodically connect the player.

2. Clear sound.
There is a THX certificate, which not every speaker in this price category is issued. Subjectively - I liked it. I switched on the FLAC composition via the digital input - I heard a lot of new things that I hadn’t heard before even on very high-quality headphones.

3. Simplicity and convenience of setting.
Here Logitech tried. To check the correctness of the connection, it is not necessary to connect the speakers to the sound source - after pressing a certain combination of buttons on the remote control, the speaker system itself begins to play the test sound on all channels.
When switching input channels to speakers, the settings of the previous channel are saved; when turned on, the last used channel is selected.

4. Just compare the features and the price. If you need to decode Dolby Digital or DTS, you will not find anything cheaper.

Briefly about the shortcomings:
1. Inch thread for mounting. What to do - the American market. With difficulty, but found fixtures, details are written in the discussion. Bolts had to be ordered abroad :-(

Advantages: Compactness, sound, design

Disadvantages: There are no mounts on the wall, distant speakers are slightly short Provade, the console is a little simple, but it does not interfere.

Comment: I didn’t have the first acoustics, I chose for a long time, I even wanted to buy for 80,000, I am glad that I didn’t do this, my guests just come in shock and that’s all, I want to take another daughter to the room. sounds cool easy. Buy and enjoy.

Multiple optical inputs.

Disadvantages: For me, only one: the complete set is missing fasteners satellites to the wall. But despite this, I put 5 points.

Comment: Prior to this acoustics, SVEN IHOO MT5.1 used. He served me faithfully for about 9 years without a single problem. He would have served further, but after acquiring mac mini, the question arose of how to shoot multichannel sound from it.The option with the receiver has disappeared: too cool and very expensive. Subsequently, it turned out that it is realistic to use a digital output through a Toslink-Toslink cable with a Toslink to Mini-Toslink adapter. Hama Connecting with a Toslink Mini-Toslink adapter works fine.

In this segment, in terms of price / quality ratio, this model is out of competition. The rest either do not have optical inputs, or there is an optical, but at the same time analog stereo input instead of multi-channel. They say the Edifier S750 is a worthy alternative, but this model has been finalized since 2008, and there are still no final deadlines.

So, the only problem for me is the lack of fasteners.

Advantages: Great sound, watching movies and listening to music is a pleasure - the room is trembling! I use the year, very satisfied !!!

Disadvantages: no wall mounts!

Comment: buy without thinking!

Advantages: - very powerful. In a two-room apartment at 70% of the volume, plastic windows are ringing, and the entrance iron door is jingling by 90%. Apparently, 500 watts are not paper, but quite honest, and they may well be enough even for dubbing at home along with the backyard plot;
- at high power, the dimensions are very compact;
- many independent inputs for almost all occasions and, most importantly, quite a lot of digital ones. Convenient fast switching between them;
- built-in Dolby Digital decoders and
DTS. The quality of decoding worthy of hearing is not distinguished by anything bad;
- when properly positioned, distinct sound positioning in space. Depth and detail are also available, for example, you can accurately determine by ear where they shoot in the game;
- one of the best signal / noise combinations - 95 dB. Up to 80% of the background noise is not audible, and a further increase in volume does not make much sense if the road has its ears;
- at the same 80% of the volume is played stably. Did not notice any distortion like wheezing, etc .;
- THX certificate gives confidence in the high quality of all acoustic parameters. Including those that may not be heard in the sound;
- not bad working stereo diversity for the required number of speakers;
- good, in my opinion, design and high-quality assembly. Indicators do not consume the eyes with brightness, regulators are gently pressed and rotated. The case does not crack, does not play, does not hang out. Fingerprints almost do not remain. The material is plastic, and the subwoofer, like, is metal, but did not notice any overtones and resonances.
The remote is comfortable and lightweight;
- settings are fully preserved and are not reset when power is turned off;
- a unique combination of characteristics (see comment below).

Disadvantages: - the main drawback is that there is no tweeter on the satellites, because, as some have already noted in the reviews, the result is predictable - there are really not enough high frequencies. For movies and games, almost imperceptible drawback, but quite large for music;
- there are no HD audio decoders (True-HD, DTS-HD), which is now a minor flaw and may become a problem in the future with a wider distribution of these formats;
- there is no adjustment of the cutoff frequency on the subwoofer, but it also works well automatically;
- non-standard mounting, but I did not hang on the wall, because they are small and unobtrusively stand on the sides, so the only theoretical disadvantage;
- the delivery set for such a price is rather weak: speakers, a remote with batteries, cables for connecting speakers, instructions and any small things. Too bad that there is no optical cable and you can not immediately connect the speakers to the TV;
- the manual does not reflect some important non-obvious points on setting up. I did not immediately find them only on the English official site of Logitech (I wrote something in the discussion - see the comments on the date of this review);
- markup on the Russian market. Abroad, the recommended price is 400 USD, we have 15,000 rubles cheaper. currently not found.

Comment: In my opinion, these columns are not computer and on the Yandex market belong to the wrong section.

Firstly, the power is too large to be installed in a bedroom-sized room where the computer is usually located. Future buyers please note! - this is not an exaggeration that it is not recommended to buy z906 for dubbing an area of ​​less than 20 square meters, otherwise you will need to listen to 5% volume to avoid beating your ears.

If you buy for a TV in a large room, then everything is in order - you can increase the volume from 5% to 60%. Although more than 60% in an apartment building is still inconvenient to turn on - take pity on the neighbors.

Secondly, the z906 has a very rare and useful combination of characteristics, namely, a built-in decoder, digital inputs and compact dimensions, which allows you to easily connect them to modern TVs and directly output high quality audio tracks from them. Alternative 5.1 sound options are less attractive at the moment, for example:
1. Home theater, as a rule, implies huge meter speakers and a low-benefit disc player now.
2. The receiver and amplifier with separate speakers is much more expensive and will require skill for proper selection of components.
3. Computer speakers, connected via an inexpensive converter from digital optics to analogue, are usually low-power and produce medium sound.

When connected to a computer, the above advantages do not mean anything, because there it is easier to output the decoded sound. Therefore, z906 is more logical to consider in the section "home theater", and not as it is now in the section "computer acoustics".

Summarizing the experience, the z906 is a great choice for a home theater or computer used for playing in a large room. THX certificate is not deceived - the quality is high.

However, for a long time listening to music in a small room in the evenings, they are most likely not suitable at all. It is better to look for something stereo and with a power of up to 100 watts.

Advantages: - not bulky, but powerful
- good sound (for me personally, the music lacks high frequency, well, if there is an adjustment on the source)
- DTS, Dolby decoders
- good stereo layout on 5.1, 4.1
- 6 inputs (who writes 5 - learn the materiel, additional input on the control unit) of which 3 digits
- headphone output
- no extraneous noise (that the acoustics is turned on can be understood only by the indicators on the control unit)

Disadvantages: - you need an equalizer or top adjustment
- there is no left-right balance adjustment (although it is not needed if you do not look crooked "pirates")
- there are no fastenings on a wall + non-standard carving on the satellite itself
- very concise remote (it would be nice for each source on the button, so as not to squander in turn)
- only 1 signal cable included (3 x 3.5jack <-> 3 x 3.5jack)
- no built-in decoders of modern HD audio formats
- expensive price tag in the CIS countries

Comment: Very good and powerful acoustics for your money.
Some immediately begin to spit, comparing it with the Z5500, which costs $ 150 more. Yes, of course, the Z5500 is more powerful, but the sound quality is on par. Of the significant differences, not taking into account the appearance, only the size of the subwoofer (in the Z5500 it is slightly larger and more powerful), and the BOOST mode (which is obviously needed only to “pontovatsya” or voice the gym, or if you hear badly. And in an average room 17 -18 sq.m. at a volume of more than 70% -80%, it is already painful to listen, and you can call your neighbors by 50%).
Very good at games and movies (Lukasov THX certificate). If you are not too picky then the music will come down, but not - then buy a normal sound card.The main thing is to properly arrange the acoustics in the room (described in the manual), adjust the levels of the subwoofer, satellite and enjoy.
I would like to separately note the capabilities of the built-in sound decoders. I compared the player decoder and Z906 decoder - the sound is different, and the built-in Z906 decoder is more pleasant in terms of positioning sounds in space (although I have Chinese media player).
In general, this acoustics deserves attention and leaves a very pleasant impression.

Advantages: Ideal sizes for small spaces.
Informative and convenient control unit.
Small and convenient remote control.
A large number of inputs (simultaneously connected 2 optical signal source Apple TV and XBOX360).
Large volume reserve for small sizes (more than 50% do not turn on).
The sound quality at small sizes (in my subjective perception).

Disadvantages: It is difficult to find mounts on the wall ...)
