Reviews of SteelSeries Rival Optical Mouse Black USB

Advantages: Very good quality if you buy is not a fake!
(I was lucky to have my original, I checked it, bought it in a technosile)
Price: bought for shares for 3000r.
Disadvantages: Only for large hands! If you doubt your hand, do not take it. My average hand is 18 cm for me, the mouse is large and uncomfortable.
Comment: All drivers do not work creaks if your hand is about 20 cm, I think it will be convenient for me, from 18 cm to me it is not convenient. (measured from the beginning of the hand to the end of the middle finger.)
I bought myself a new year (12/03/2014) I have been using for 5 months.
I don't like writing reviews, I just decided to help doubting people.

Advantages: style of performance (I do not like space mice), but with this one it’s cool to play and just work at the computer
Disadvantages: it's ok
Comment: Impressions were pleasant from the moment of purchase. She sat in my hand like a glove: in form, in weight, in tactile sensations. In general, I bought a comfortable and functional mouse, for which it is not a pity to spend the ruble.

Advantages: 1. No matter what anyone says, but the COVER of the mouse is just great! Produced by the manufacturer as Antipot; If there are no marks, if the prints remain, then I can easily wash them with a terry towel (gently pressing - everything is erased). Indeed, in some way, it absorbs sweat '(excessive moisture on the surface), very pleasant to the touch, no feeling of "fatigue" from the mouse.

2. Form. I have a huge hand ... because of what I have been "stumped" to look for a solution in abundance of small-scale armament. The first time was not convenient, after the previous one disappeared, but then - the hand fell. It is convenient to hold and palm (RPG, RTS), as well as fingers (Shooters), my hands are straight, I can’t say anything about the "claw". All the buttons in the access, I personally, easily pressed, do not stretch anywhere, do not get confused with each other. PUNCHES - just a miracle! I do not know how they calculated them, but it turned out just really bad! The sensations from the side elastics (which are part of the hull, and not the shmakas planted on glue) are amazing, but they themselves are soft, tenacious, do not cause discomfort, BIG.

3. Software and hardware. It works as a watch, there have not yet been any failures and it is not expected, Etozh Avago 3310, which means "you have the best optical sensor in your hands." SS Engin3 perfectly customizes the mouse, allowing you to write even huge macros.

~~~ Insert "RIVAL", which can be changed to "Steelseries" (included). On the off site you can download a 3D model - which allows you to build the same, but with your Nick. In turn, I, having access to equipment for the production of metal products, was able to easily make myself "Gruzik", weighing 28g, with pleasure I use))) I like it.
Disadvantages: While all happy.
Comment: The closest competitors, in my opinion:
SS Sensei
and
Roccat KONE XTD optical
Advantages: Nice lighting, stylish design, programmable buttons, large enough size, high build quality.
Disadvantages: As for me, they are not.
Comment: Picked up a new gaming mouse for a long time, I wanted to spend money for good reason, but to pick up a really optimal device. I immediately liked this look and fit in size, besides her ergonomics are very comfortable. The mouse has a pleasant to the touch matte finish and rubber inserts on the sides, it does not slip in the hand during prolonged use, there are also no prints.
Comment: Long chose a top-level gaming mouse from SS Kana v2 / Rival, Zowie AM / EC1 Evo / FK. I didn’t even consider the Razer DA due to the fact that they, like other Razer mice, often break.
After reading a lot of articles and discussions on the forums, as well as watching dozens of video reviews, I chose SteelSeries Rival and did not lose! The mouse really pleased and ultimately exceeded my expectations! I share my impressions and read info:
-Sensor
In Rival he is good! No glitches, smoothings, etc. were noticed. Everything reads clearly, even without a rug. The sensor is often compared to the Avago 3090, which has already gained credibility. Here stands the Avago 3310 under the Pixart label (since he bought out Avago). This is the top-end optical sensor in the Avago lineup and one of the best optical sensors on the market (there are currently no “better” sensors, there are only similar ones). A special feature is the choice of dpi in the range from 50 to 6500. It was very important for me to have a large number of dpi selection options up to 1200. In Rival, you can choose dpi in increments of 50dpi, which made me very happy! For comparison, in the Zowie models this, unfortunately, is not: there are only 3 settings, and then the unusual 450, 1150 and 2300.
-Sizes and shape
In general, the mouse approached me. The form is convenient, but you need to get used to it a couple of days. Ergonomic mice are generally not suitable for everyone, especially if the palm is small (noted almost everywhere), but, again, everything is very individual. The dimensions of the mouse are a bit large: for very dynamic high-speed FPSs like Quake Live, it may not be the best choice, and for FPS-type CSs it’s the most.
+ In the beginning, the rubber surface on the sides was not entirely to my liking: the bumps created an unpleasant feeling in the thumb pad. Now, of course, already used and it does not bother, but a simple software touch is still nicer.
-Cable
There are no problems with cable! It is not a reference, but it is better than many cables I have seen in a winding and is quite flexible.
Advantages: Excellent build quality, no backlash;
Beautiful sensor with a maximum resolution of 6500 dpi;
Silent click of keys, ergonomic arrangement of lateral keys;
Easy scroll;
Pleasant coverage, no discomfort from fogging;
Rubberized side inserts (not glued, but fused!) Do not cause complaints;
Adjustable color of separate illumination in two zones;
Disadvantages: Several brand body;
Designed for a large palm;
The cord is not braided;
No interchangeable legs and sinkers;
Comment: The mouse was taken as a replacement for A4 Tech XL-760H. It took a mouse under a big palm, waited for the release of a new mouse from Steelseries and did not regret it. Perfectly in the hand, competent and responsive software to customize the mouse.Note that if you have a small palm, you can not reach the far side button - this mouse is long, respectively, for owners of large palms. After long work, the hand does not get tired. There was a problem when, when buying, the sensor began to blunt when working on the table (without a rug I used the previous A4 tech without problems), so I bought a Steelseries Qck rug and the problem disappeared. Also, the software does not signal a change in dpi, but I do not consider it a drawback. In general, I recommend! Works out its price at 100%!
Advantages: - works without complaints
- universal design
-PHO (as for me) is much better than Razer'ovskogo
- rubberized inserts on the sides are very nice
-adjustable backlight color (any color)
Disadvantages: -not noticed
Comment: The first interesting mouse was - MS IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0
Then I changed Razers every year or two, who started to suffer from sensor errors and double clicks. I decided to change the brand. And did not regret. This is definitely a IE3.0 relative, hi from the past. Nothing more, the design is optimal for the game.
It feels like I like it more raisers (and the price is nicer), how much it will last - let's see;)
I would love to take the Bluetooth edition of this mouse if it existed.
Advantages: excellent quality, user-friendly design and keys (side)
Disadvantages: the cord is not braided, and rubber
Comment: I bought instead of the Razor Imperator the time-dead in a puddle of spilled beer =) (sensor refused)
Very pleased with the quality, software, grooved (anti-slip) sides! The ruin was glossy from the sides, and in general the mice are very similar.
Good software (the choice of the color of the wheel light and the logo), no parsing with the side keys (there was some nonsense in the heading - the side ones did not go backward in the browser by default)
The size is quite large, but managed perfectly. Side keys (forward back) with a convenient location. Not overloaded with other keys!
Take those you will not regret! worth their money. What you need for work and shooters! (I'm not fond of macros)
Advantages: Excellent sensor, with a resolution of 6500 dpi runs on the A4 Tech X7 carpet and works great!)
Build quality is excellent!))
It is pleasantly in the hand, rubberized inserts on the sides perfectly fit under the thumb and little finger grip is much better!
Click is quiet and not very hard
2 side buttons are very comfortable
Scrolling is easy to scroll through!
Different types of highlights, you can make different highlights like on the mouse wheel, and on the Steelseries logo, you can make the pulsing colors, which I did)
By weight is not quite heavy as written in another review)
SS Engine is quite functional special problems with the settings will not occur))
Disadvantages: There is no indicator for the change in the CPI speed; neither the program nor the mouse will tell you; there are only 2 modes for switching,
In UEFI BIOS Works in horizontal mode
The cord is not braided
Unregulated backlight brightness
There are no spare legs, only a mouse
Comment: I was the owner of X7 Bloody mice and decided to try this miracle, after playing BF3 and also Counter Strike Source I was very pleased with it, my hand doesn’t tire of any discomfort you don’t feel, it’s completely worth its price! Recommend!))
Advantages: Excellent sensor, build quality at a height, pleasant coverage, soft and pleasant scroll, competitive price.
Disadvantages: The unregulated height of separation, the side buttons are far removed, the backlight brightness is unregulated, there is no indication of a change in CPI, and individual quibbles are not a gold-plated plug, it is heavy.
Comment: I am the owner of the Sensei mouse for more than two years. Having an average, closer to small, palm, the shape and size of Sensei fit me perfectly. I easily reach all the side buttons.
Rival has problems with it. Really and conveniently reach only to the near side. Those.If you have a small palm (~ 165-170mm with a finger length) and short fingers, then this mouse is unlikely to suit you. If on the contrary, it is worth paying attention.
Build quality is excellent. Nothing backlash, no creaks, no gaps. The click is soft and quiet.
Also a minus for me is the height of separation. It is 3 or more millimeters. I have a glass black frosted carpet IceMat. On Sensei it was possible to set the minimum gap and make it ~ 1.5 mm. On Rival you can not configure it. Having added even more weight of the mouse here, it turns out that you need to raise the mouse higher, the cursor moves more.
No indication of a change in CPI. Those. accidentally clicked and neither the mouse nor the software does not inform about it.
The new version of the SS Engine causes positive feelings. It works faster, and weighs and consumes less resources.
As a result, there are only two minuses in the mouse: not adjustable height of separation and far side buttons.
The rest of the stuffing, materials, work some advantages.
