Which motorcycle tow is better to choose?
By and large, all the models on sale are variations on one theme, and it is difficult to come up with something unusual in this layout. Therefore, when deciding which motorcycle towing vehicle is better to buy, proceed mainly from the design features:
- Engine power for the motor-towing vehicle, there will be no excess If simple models for 6-7 horsepower unwittingly force the phrase “three hours of boredom to be born in the mind, and we are fishing”, then the more powerful are not just faster, but often are not used at all for their original purpose: as a pusher for skiers, like mini - snowmobile, and in general a person is able to adapt almost everything to an entertainment ride. Of the manufacturers of motors, single-minded favorites are Lifan and Zongshen (they are, in fact, the leaders in the production of engines of such a plan in China as a whole). Honda is more expensive, not so much and surpassing the resource own clones from China.
- Options transmissions a bit: on low-power, low-cost models, this is the usual centrifugal clutch (sometimes called “automatic transmission” by sellers, but this is not the same thing), but the variable-speed models are much more practical, especially with the Safari variators already well known for snowmobiles. Without losing in toughness (and often winning in it due to the possibility of using a chain gearbox with a large gear ratio), such motorcycle dogs get plus to cruising speed, and most importantly, they do not burn the grip when driving.
- From the point of universality, the track suspension is better than the roller one, but the slides are “sharpened” under loose or wet snow, which serves as a lubricant. Only if you often have to drive in such conditions, you should think about a motorcycle on sklizah - but you will not be able to ride it in any other season. The “Mukhtar 15” construction is ideal in this respect, where the suspension can be rebuilt into three bills for current needs.
- How wide should the caterpillar be? In fact, the way it will be easy to buy later. Do not forget about the load that determines the "catch": a light low-power motor-dog wide “five hundred” will not give real advantages when driving in the winter, but in the “swamp” version it will be just irreplaceable because of the minimal pressure on the ground.
- Front or rear wheel drive? Again, it depends on how the motocoover will be used: the front-wheel drive tensioners on the upper branch of the track, leaving the lower (working) side relaxed, and on unevenness it wears much less, and the hook is better (not for nothing this option is called “tank”). On the loose snow, rear-wheel drive is more convenient - there is no need to bend the working part of the caterpillar, and the motor, pulling it precisely, provides the best throughput without the tendency to dig in.
