According to the experience of the owners, and the author’s own experience, who at one time repaired all kinds of two, three, four-wheeled vehicles, the Chinese CFMOTO ATVs in the domestic market are the leaders in terms of price / quality ratio. If you are interested in the budget model, then X4 Basic in the manufacturer’s lineup is the cheapest.
What do we offer for this money? First, the 400-cc single-cylinder engine of its own production (191Q), equipped with a Bosch injection system and interlocked with the Canadian CVTECH. The capacity of regular water cooling is enough for a small motor, even in the mud, while the 31-hp engine suffices to speak about real utilitarian use. On a flat road on the speedometer, you can see a figure of up to 95 km / h, well, on off-road it remains to turn on the reduction gear and connect all-wheel drive. Differential, naturally, blocked. Secondly, the quad is quite comfortable - energy-intensive suspension, sophisticated ergonomics. A backrest is installed for the passenger, the front and rear trunks are durable and allow you to carry quite a decent load. In case of “surprises” on the way, a strong “kenguryatnik” was placed in front. Steel wheels too - budget and reliable, although it is rather heavy. The only thing that the author would personally find fault with was the transfer of the engine to the injection: the carburetor would be both cheaper and more convenient if it was repaired by itself. It just so happened that with this quad bike the author is not just a countryman, he also lives near the company salon and service center. So we are familiar not by hearsay. I will say right away - there is little work for local servicemen, so the first plus in the piggy bank of the RM 650 receives in advance.
The “heart” of this quad bike is a 42.5-horsepower engine, which is slightly less than the volume of 650 “cubes” declared in the marking. Good traction at all speeds in conjunction with the “ponizhayka” and blocking at 290 mm ground clearance - this is an application that it will get far in the dirt. If, however, the call gets too far - well, there is a front winch for 1300 kg of traction. Well, for purely utilitarian use there is a regular hitch. Then why not the first place in the ranking of the best ATVs? First of all, this quad bike is single. Agree, if your wife or girlfriend is not an ardent opponent of ATVs in principle, she still will not appreciate the purchase of the PM 650. Only owners of a more expensive liter model or purely sports equipment will be able to doubt the dynamics of the Outlander’s.
Already from the factory, the ATV is equipped with Fox Performance adjustable shock absorbers. The second place gets our old friend "Grizzly": a smart and agile "rogue" with serious potential.
The engine in the 2018 model is a single-cylinder “seven hundred” with two overhead camshafts. If you are well versed in motorcycles, then you will understand that there is certainly nothing to do with the torque of the engine with a 103-mm diameter cylinder. Although the vibrations of such a "single-track" are considerable, it remains to say thanks to the designers for effectively suppressing the itching between the legs of the engine mount. Hmm, it was ambiguous, but the Grizzlik itself is also ambiguous - it seems that it is “sharpened” off-road, with a short base and high ground clearance, this is what it asks for ... moving along “roads” with considerable load, and for amateur races along the cross-road. Perhaps the only thing for which it is not worth recommending the “Grizzly Bear” is for hunting trips: the exhaust of a single-barrel “seven hundred” is heard a mile away. Main advantages:

You can have different attitudes to the Polaris technique, but a fact is a fact: in the services about their quadrocycles a saying goes for a long time, which we will not quote for reasons of censorship. Moreover, we are writing about new quad bikes, and not about what we often encounter in the secondary market.
The utility of this model is undoubted: six wheels with a drive (although the “six-wheeled Quad-cycle” is already an oxymoron), a rear luggage platform with a loading capacity of 360 kg. A sort of pickup in the environment of ATVs, otherwise you can not tell. But here the six-wheel drive is powered by only a 570-cc engine with a power of 44 hp: with a dry weight of 490 kg it is a little, and at least four wheels (the front axle can be turned on) can be turned in the dirt. As a result, the squares turned out to be even “too” utilitarian: for offroad it is heavy and overall, for pokatushek it lacks dynamics and maneuverability. So, the “seven hundred” from Yamaha is not a newbie technique: with a standard narrow gauge, this quad bike can send an unprepared rider into traumatology after a couple of turns. The lightweight quad is very sensitive to the bodywork technique, so without standard sports tuning with the installation of lengthened levers and drive shafts at a speed in turn it’s easy to overdo it.
Variable speed drive? Of course, no: as befits a real sports technique, the YFM700R requires the constant clicking of a five-speed gearbox. But speed and torque are not controlled by anyone except yourself. The hybrid frame made of steel and aluminum parts allowed the ATV weight to drop below the 200 kilogram bar: it is perfect for both racing and stunt riding. Therefore, we did not consider branded equipment: of course, I would like to recommend the children's Yamaha or Honda, but the prices ... So in this category of rating the Chinese quadrocycle Stealth surely wins, even taking into account the fact that the author managed to transfer the “adult” equipment of this brand right up to argon welding of crank cases burst in the middle of the road. Children's models of tough exploitation do not suggest that they have enough “average Chinese” margin of safety. This "weaving" looks, taking into account the scale quite seriously, and will become a good "learning desk" before mastering a full-fledged ATV. The motor is very simple: a two-stroke forced air cooling with an output of 8 horsepower. A good choice for teaching a child to repair and maintain: it is difficult to get lost in spare parts, and it’s completely impossible to “get up” the engine with an error when assembling the timing case. Liter three-cylinder diesel engine is economical and pulls power, maximum torque is reached at 2400 rpm. The variator is interlocked with a reduction gear, so that you can drive into the dirt safely and with passengers in the back seat and with a load on the luggage compartment. If we recall that 30 liters of fuel get into the gas tank here - then why not go on a trip? Such equipment can often be seen in hunting farms: the permeability is rather high, the passenger capacity clearly exceeds any “classic” quadric.Yes, and the resource is not bad: for example, the strength of the variator belt is increased four (!) Times compared to the “non-Pro” Kawasaki “typewriter” series. Among the shortcomings, we note the low-lying battery and air filter: they were stuck in the compartment behind the rear door, at the wheel arch. Cook under two million. Then what to choose, if the budget is not unlimited, and you want to start UTV on the farm? Well, here you have an anti-crisis proposal from the Rybinsk Russian Mechanics: the price of the RM 800 UTV has been reduced by 100 thousand. For this money, you are offered a double-quad with 60-horsepower engines and "near-sports" seats with lateral support - not an extra option without doors. 30-centimeter ground clearance, spacious “basket” on the rear platform, 1.8 tonne winch, regular hitch - everything you need from UTV, here is “out of the box”. The instrument panel is rude, and the presence of a radio with Bluetooth and USB is more amusing than giving tangible benefits. Especially considering the fact that the speaker grills of the audio system due to the low location are at risk of meeting with a dirty boot of the 47th size. Which quad bike to choose?
Alas, with the prices of ATVs, not everything is in order: even budget mid-size in terms of numbers in prices can compete with the new car. So it is not surprising that the Chinese are becoming more and more stable in the market.
Here, when choosing, first of all be guided by the availability of spare parts: no matter how good the Chinese ATV is at the beginning, it will always have to be repaired. It is difficult to recommend Stelsy - the author on his own experience managed to evaluate the “attentive” attitude of the plant to its own official dealers, thanks to which the search for spare parts turns into a separate quest, and given that the same model may differ in different designs, the quest only becomes more complicated. Yes, and for heavy use, these quadrics are not very suitable: the mechanics of services have already become accustomed to torn shafts and gears.
As for CFMOTO, it is worthwhile to give this brand a palm in the budget segment: a developed network of official dealers will not make it particularly difficult to find a spare part, and their quality is significantly better. As a compromise, Russian Mechanics is also not bad, especially if you immediately lubricate everything you need and stretch everything you need.
In the higher class, you should take a closer look at the BRP - the Austrian Rotax motors used on them are unquestionably good, and good equipment, coupled with build quality and driver comfort, give Canadians the best recommendations. There is something to offer and the Japanese - if only enough money, is not it?
