Top 10 hunting rifles
The choice of modern hunting weapons is multifaceted: an archaic classic lover who prefers a Kurkish "breaks" will also find his own, and a military-style fan who can spend an amount comparable to his value to improve an assault shotgun. The availability of obtaining a permit for smooth-bore weapons, combined with the popularization of practical shooting, led to a characteristic bias in statistics: more and more people who receive a federal-style hunting ticket prefer to shoot targets without having to go hunting even once. We present the ranking of the best hunting rifles - according to experts and hunters with experience.
Therefore, in the windows of gun shops you can find a variety of weapons, from the "armed" army samples to the real hunting classics. What gun is better to choose for hunting - a question not only personal preferences, but also the budget. So, what would you spend on Zelenka in 2018?

Top Budget Critical Hunting Guns
MR-27M
25 870 (cal. 12x76, walnut, trunks 725 mm, replaceable chokes)
Our rating of the best guns for hunting opens the work of Izhevsk masters MR-27M. A double barrel is usually bought for a long time, and here there is a choice: to overpay for reliability or to choose a model with easily available spare parts. Considering that now even Turkish critical guns are slowly but surely approaching the border of the budget class, and guns like Ata Arms SP have actually gone to the “middle class”, the Izhevsk side-fold does not lose popularity: during the times of the Soviet Union, when it was called Izh- 27, he became the champion in the number of models released - more than a half million.
There are many modifications of the gun available - from a budget version in plastic to piece guns with a rich decorative finish, approaching at the price of the well-known abbreviation BBB. There is a choice in the calibers, and in variants of the trigger mechanism, and in the lengths of the trunk. For quite some time now, it is possible to cheaply turn a rifle into an “almost combined” one within the framework of a “smooth-bore” license by purchasing a supplementary barrel for the .366 caliber - the latter, although it is called “under-cut”, showed itself well on the hunt. Well, let's finish the list of assets with a well-studied (not surprisingly, the model “knocked out” exactly 45 years) with a construction. True, traditionally for Izhevsk, mass rifles require attention when buying: there is a risk to meet with pulled trunks, and with curved planks, and the difference in the thickness of the muzzle cut is officially not recognized as a defect by the plant. The tree is almost the same for almost half a century already habitually called “stick” and “paddle” - it is badly fitted on gross guns, but ergonomically ... Okay, let's not talk about the bad, just the amount of “meat” on the bed allows you to fit the gun ". Main advantages:

CZ Mallard
33 770 (cal. 12x76, trunks 760 mm, replaceable chokes)
The CZ brand (Česká zbrojovka) is well known here from Soviet times, but nostalgia in this case can lead to disappointment: like most modern budgetary guns for hunting, CZ Mallard is made in Turkey, and on the reverse side of the engraving “CZ-USA “Huglu, Made in Turkey” Of course, lately, the quality of Turkish weapons has increased significantly, but to despise the Turks at weapon forums has become as mandatory as the Chinese are at car ones.
In terms of build quality and fit, the gun undoubtedly appreciably surpasses Izhevsk gross guns. It is affected by the fact that the Turkish arms industry earns on rifles, rather than releasing them as an “appendage” to the main profile, as has been our practice for a long time. Therefore, production optimization, modern machine park for Turkish gunsmiths are not empty words, and CZ Mallard is pleasant to hold: the gun itself has a good weight distribution, replaceable chokes are embedded on the conscience, and the mechanics work out on most guns as they should without buying a set of needle files. The reservation “on the majority”, alas, is inevitable - in the budget class, weapons should always be chosen with close attention. It is worth noting immediately that a gun, which looks beautiful on a shop window, will quickly “tarnish” over time - a soft lacquer that quickly becomes scratched, even when used carefully. The descent of most guns is tough enough, "for the amateur" - many owners still pick up files, pushing trigger for a softer response. Main advantages:

The gun was pretty and lay down right away, unlike the Izhe. On the hunt and on the stand, it proved to be good, from the budget vertical a little more want and not worth it. |
The best high-profile turning rifles
Beretta 486 Parallelo
411 480 (cal. 12x76, trunks 710 mm, English bed)
A great combination of a completely classic style with modern technology involuntarily asks to change pouches to a leather game bag, and a camouflage cap to a hat with a feather. Keeping the traditional quality of finishing and maintaining the style, Beretta simultaneously offers us a cold-formed block of trunks welded according to the Triblock technology, which provides high rigidity of the connection, easily removable USM with modernized V-shaped springs, and the special design of the fuse eliminates shots during falls and in “non-standard” positions - for example, if you catch hold of a descent while carrying a gun on a pursuit of a shoulder. Chokes - replaceable, standard Optimachoke HP, capable without the risk of working with steel shot large numbers. For Russia, fortunately, lead is more relevant, but an extra margin of safety does not hurt, is it?
The Italians had a hunting rifle, undoubtedly worthy, and yet not completely terrifying in price, like top models from the same Beretta, which have already crossed the bar of a million rubles. So, adding a little to the rating from connoisseurs of the classical style, we will surely give it the first place. Main advantages:

Lightweight shotgun with excellent balance, which is just nice to hold in your hands. On the hunt, everything is fine, ergonomics as I wrote. |
Sauer Apollon
176 630 (cal. 12x76, trunks 760 mm)
Perhaps, the Sauer brand in our country will be known longer and better than many, and the trophy “Sauers”, especially with the “eagles” (stamps put on rifles from 1933 to 1945) is the dream of many collectors. Modern bokflint perfectly continues the old traditions of the company - a truly German thoroughness and reliability, which is worth only a branded locking system with four points.Steel manufacturer did not regret - "pulls" a gun to 3.45 kg, largely due to the solid box. At the same time, the balance of the gun is set at the correct point, although, of course, for running hunting it makes sense to look at the option easier. And he is - Sauer Artemis, the "female" version of Apollon.
USM - single start, with the possibility of choosing the order of shots. It is possible to adjust the descent effort from 1.8 to 2.2 kg, the mechanism itself works flawlessly. Main advantages:

The best pump guns for hunting
Remington 870 WINGMASTER
68 990 (cal. 12x76, barrel 710 mm)
While in Russia pump-shotguns are not particularly popular in hunting (their absence in Soviet times affects, the first civilian “pump”, Izh-81, appeared in stores only in 1994), for the USA it is actually a classic. Well, the classic from the classic is, undoubtedly, the 870th Remington, which has been produced in many modifications since 1951 (more than 11 million guns left the factory).
Among them were purely hunting rifles, including those equipped with “purely American” 12-caliber rifled barrels (“reindeer rifle”), and police “shortages”, all familiar to the militants. Well, and since we are talking primarily about hunting, we’ll focus on the Wingmaster version with a long shot barrel and a four-charge magazine. It makes no sense to describe the design of this gun - it’s been completed in 67 years, simple and reliable mechanics, and even cheaper production has not had a significant impact on the resource lately, and the tuning industry for “Remingtons” has worked to get rid of “children's ills”. In Russia, craftsmen produce a lot of "nishtyakov" quality, not inferior to the American aftermarket, but at much more pleasant prices. You shouldn’t expect refined finishes or delicate fittings from the “rem” - it was, is and will be a real working rifle, old-fashioned and weighty thanks to a steel receiver, and this is in times of light alloys. For which, in fact, love him. Main advantages:

A full-fledged workhorse, fine-tuning and “sores” have long been described, the gun itself cannot be simpler to maintain in maintenance. |
Snipe-12M (VPO-202-09)
31 000 (cal. 12x76, 3 barrels (bullet cylinder and paradox 535 mm), shot 750 mm)
This wagon from Vyatskiye Polyan has long earned a reputation as the best domestic pump-action shotgun, and the three-barrel grade is useful for self-defense (a short “cylinder”), and for hunting a large beast (bullet “paradox”), and does not save by writing after installing shot barrel. And for this, according to the brand “Molotov” price, only 31,000 are asked for - even with the price paid by third-party stores, the price is quite interesting by today's standards.
The weight of the gun is quite tolerable, that, knowing the following by the “Hammer” to the main principle of Boris Razor, is even unexpected. The design itself is durable and does not suffer from pronounced "sores" - everything that may have to bend and file, on the specialized forums has long been painted. The trunks are cold forged, markedly superior in quality to Izhevsk. The forend is convenient for short-handed shooters, at this moment many “pumps” are pierced - they have the forearm further ahead, so here too “Bekas” gets its plus sign for the rating. For lovers of tactical tuning, this hunting rifle will not be the best choice - not only that there is practically no tuning for “Snipe”, and even lengthening the store will require filing with a regular hacksaw. Gun strong, omnivorous. At the bullet barrel is a great fight, you can take it with confidence from the labaza. |
The best hunting semi-automatic
Benelli Raffaello Сrio Сomfort
176 230 (cal. 12x76, barrel 760 mm)
Speaking of inertial semi-automatic devices, it is impossible not to mention Benelli - although this recharge scheme itself appeared at the beginning of the 20th century on Swedish Sjogren, it was Benelli that brought the idea of an inertial mechanism to a modern "licked" state several decades later. And, although it is difficult to be compared to “omnivorousness” with an adjustable intake gas discharge, Italian inertial show good versatility, “digesting” and heavy magnums on a goose hunt, and sporting charges on a stand.
“Crio” in its name refers to another proprietary technology of Italians - cryogenic processing of the barrel billet and interchangeable chokes. A curious feature of such barrels is not the use of a soldered aiming bar, but the installation of a replaceable carbon fiber, which, among other things, reduces the mass of the gun and ensures predictable barrel vibrations when fired, and therefore ensure a good bullet fight without the need to use interchangeable “bullet” barrels. For a quick control of the availability of cartridges in the store, the Window System is provided - in other words, a longitudinal groove in the forend and magazine. The construction cannot be simpler and at the same time effective, but you should not test the reliability of the gun with a dip in the mud: delays will begin when shooting. Main advantages:

The best hunting rifle, convenient, comfortable, even when firing with a magnum. For three seasons of the stand and hunts no problems. |
ATA Neo 12
51 370 (cal. 12x76, walnut, stem 710 mm)
Considering that prices for “Italians” in our time are already going off the scale “for a hundred”, and cheaper models turn out to be produced in Turkey - why not look in the direction of “pure-blooded Turks”, who, starting with competition to domestic plants in the budget segment, now confidently registered and on average?
Neo 12 is an inertial semi-automatic from Ata Arms, a brand that has become known in Russia relatively recently, but has proven itself in the best way (and at the same time, hehe, it produces guns for Marocchi). The rifle is one of the lightest in its class, but at the same time it has a comfortable return. For patrons, of course, intelligibility is already felt - for example, cheap Record, which the same Hatsan gas outlet with the same barrel length digests without problems, on Ata Neo 12 can produce a large number of delays. However, it is not necessary to spend more money on ammunition: it suffices to choose a self-twist that works reliably in a particular gun, since the barrel is good, and you can achieve a decent fight with a shot or a bullet. The best assault shotguns for hunting
Vepr-12
43 000 (version VPO-205-03, barrel 305 mm)
Perhaps, only in this market segment Russian gunsmiths have no serious competition and are not expected - having combined a proven and reliable "Kalashnikov" design with smooth-bore caliber, Izhevsk designers created a trend in their time.Well, the Vyatka-Polyansky “Molot”, taking for the base not AK, as Izhevtsy with its “Saiga”, but the PKK, created the “Boar” - the most reliable and well-assembled domestic “Kalashoid”, beloved by both “self-defenders” and IPSC arrows .
Available "pig" (as his name is popularly) in several trim levels - from the "shortening" of 205-03 with a barrel as much as 305 mm in length, which when fired due to the roar and muzzle flash resembles a pocket howitzer, to a monstrous anti-aircraft gun with a barrel 680 mm, to which is added a considerable length of the receiver. Especially for IPSC shooters, a sports version “Vepr-12 SP” is being produced with “factory tuning” - a telescopic butt, an effective DTK and other modifications. There is a "Boar" and branded "highlight", and not very pleasant. We have already mentioned that the principles of Boris Razor on the Hammer are honored and respected. That is why even the shortest “pig” weighs more than 4 kilograms with an empty magazine. Main advantages:

Saiga-12K
40 490 (cal. 12x76, version 030 with a plastic butt)
Created as an exclusively hunting weapon (whence the name created a carbine as early as the 1970s for shooting saigas), the Saiga increasingly and more confidently goes into the “tactical weapon” niche: the choice of semi-automatic machines for hunters is huge now, and Kalashoids are like Not a lot, they have a very specific ergonomics, and the target audience of customers has made the word “sagovod” among hunters almost abusive.
The current Saigas even surpass the progenitor-AK constructively in some ways - for example, a slide lag has appeared, accelerating the reloading of the weapon. However, alas, the traditional attitude of Izhevsk citizens to civilian production affects: any search engine, upon request “refining Saigi,” will issue a kilometer list of operations that cannot be performed on many guns, but even necessary. The quality of Izhevsk "Kalashoids" significantly inferior to the Vyatka-Polyansky, and in favor of "Saiga" is perhaps a more affordable price and a number of design features that facilitate tuning - yet, having at the heart the AK-like receiver, the list of compatible body kit elements is more, than the "Boar" with a barrel from the PKK. What to look for when choosing a gun?
There are many instructions for choosing a good gun for hunting on the Internet, and we will not repeat all the nuances for the hundredth time. The main thing is to remember that there is no fundamental difference between smooth trunks: with a correctly chosen cartridge, the old-fashioned “tulk” will be no less extractive than the newest Benelli. Therefore, first of all, pay attention to the convenience of the tab, the leashes: exactly how fast the tab is convenient determines the effectiveness of the shooting.
The choice of design is a matter of personal preference, but it is worth considering the particularities. For example, if you plan to use a rifle for shotgun and bullet shooting, then “vertical” would be preferable to “horizontal” - reducing the trunks in a vertical plane allows you to set only vertical correction when shooting, while for “horizontal”, where the trunks "baptize" in the horizontal line, it is necessary inevitably to give different amendments for both trunks sideways. Well, the "pump" or semi-automatic, where the barrel is only one (and many guns in the set have a special barrel for bullet shooting) in this regard are most convenient and versatile.
At the same time, the prevailing opinion that a semi-automatic is less reliable than a double-barreled gun, can be safely considered a prejudice: a good rifle on tested cartridges will always work, even if it is a breakthrough, even if it is a gas discharge penjet. However, keep in mind that with the same barrel length, turning rifles are shorter, turning, and the barrel is easy to check and clean if necessary - that is why the shotguns do not lose popularity while hunting, because few have to do more than two shots in a row, but accidentally scooped up the snow with a barrel to many.
