What to look for when choosing a safe?
To a large extent, the price of a safe is influenced by the parameters of fire resistance and resistance to cracking. A simple furniture safe (they are often sold as pistol pistols) can cost only a few thousand rubles, locking on an uncomplicated lock - but in the event of a fire, such a safe will not protect the contents, and breaking it if desired can be done without even touching the lock with a jerk of a bayonet screwdriver loops. So, in addition to a reliable lock, you will need a serious system of bolts - in safes with three-sided locking, even completely cut loops will not open the door.
Electronic lock or key? In theory, electronics will provide resistance to cracking due to the difficulty of selecting a code with less cost than developing a lock that can counteract master keys and brute force. However, for the emergency opening of electronic locks, they still have to embed mechanical larvae, so the question here is mainly convenience: there is no danger of losing keys that are constantly carried around with you, you can enter the code quickly and change it if necessary. In principle, a surcharge for an electronic lock can make sense. For example, dismissing an employee who had access to the safe, for security, you can quickly change the code to a new one - but replacing the lock in a regular safe will take time and money.
Separately, let's say about the gun safes and cabinets. We specifically chose models with certain dimensions to be rated, although cheaper safes could be found on the market. However, the need to constantly assemble and disassemble a rifle will quickly bother you - well, double-barrels, they are usually taken to the hunt disassembled, but each time you remove the barrel from a pump or a semiautomatic device with an installed extension of the under-barrel magazine, catching the spring that strives to jump out ... just not to shorten - the same long-barreled "Were" without a folding butt, for example. So it is worthwhile to look closely at the models “for growth”, even if right now you plan to walk with one double-barreled gun.
