Reviews of tablet Lenovo ThinkPad 8 64Gb

Virtues

  • A full-fledged computer in the palm of your hand with an ip-matrix fhd, full-fledged windows 8.1, full-fledged office. Beautiful screen

disadvantages

  • There are possible highlights of the matrix of the tablet, which is not a marriage, but at the same time it is unpleasant, so buy personally and carefully inspect the highlights and broken pixels at the same time.

Comment
I purchased one of the first tablets in Russia and was very pleased. The tablet, in addition to the usual features inherent in a Windows tablet, is capable of reading USB 3.0 external hard drives, but for this you need either an OTG format adapter 3.0, or you can solder yourself out of scrap materials, as many OTG microUSBs have a 3.0 only 2.0. Pulls the game Sudden strike Arms for victry, but you need to use the mouse through the above-mentioned adapter, because virtual touch joysticks for windows tablets are not particularly popular yet and are not compatible with all games. But the main advantage for me is the presence of a full video output microhdmi! I took a tablet, including, to view the Blu-ray images from a hard external drive through a silent tablet to a huge TV via hdmi. Since a small child is sleeping, the noise of the coolers was very disturbing before, since loud it was impossible to do. Now in complete silence (the hard disk is almost not audible) we watch heavy-format films and series. The disadvantage here is that the battery must be fully charged before watching a heavy film, for example, before watching the movie.

Virtues

  • + full-fledged computer in your pocket, in tablet form factor
  • + high-quality manufacturing - no complaints to the gland
  • + resolution (although this is a minus at the same time)
  • + USB 3.0
  • + passive cooling and adequate tablet performance
  • + camera of acceptable quality
  • + support for VT-x, QuickSync

disadvantages

  • The resolution, although good, is hard to use in Windows. Even the Metro-interface, in my opinion, is too small, and nothing about classical applications. Need a stylus or a mouse (at least an emulator, such as TouchMousPointer).
  • memory could do more, 2 gig is still not enough for Windows. Moreover, such chips exist, just saved.

Comment
The performance for its size is good, better than my old netbook on the Atom N570 three times. And compared to desktop processors - at the level of the old Core2Duo. Heavy applications, such as Photoshop, of course, will slow down, but it copes with everything else well. For example, Half-Life 2 pulls)
VT-x support allows Bluestacks to work without problems - and this is a car and a small trolley of Android applications optimized for the touch.
The main complaint of course is the OS and the resolution - everything is painfully small.

Virtues

  • full Windows and full office
  • good battery life, almost no self-discharge in sleep mode

disadvantages

  • watching videos on the Internet (even in Metro Explorer) is not optimized for fingers
  • messages in various messengers come in sleep mode depending on the mood of the computer
  • in the camera there is no approach / removal
  • Connecting to a TV is possible only if it has sufficient permission. The iPad takes the film to my low-resolution TV easily, and this one said that there is not enough resolution, i.e. he perceives television as a monitor.
  • few applications.

Comment
It should be very clearly aware of why you need a device. If you need to work (i.e. have the opportunity to put all that is on the work computer), then this is what you need. Moderately small, light and everything can. At the same time, it should be understood that working with fingers in the old interface and with old programs is rather difficult with such a high resolution. Need a mouse. The stylus does not help, its selectivity is the same as that of the finger (ie, none). But if the tasks are simpler, if you only need to receive mail, go to the Internet, watch a video and sometimes make a document into a Word or an Excel card, then you should not take this device. Buy Word / Excel for Android / Apple (yes, it costs money, but Android / Apple is cheaper, among other things, due to the fact that this price is already included in the price of the tablet) and enjoy.
On the other hand, after a month these flaws are not perceived as acutely, all typical tasks (Internet, mail) are solved quite easily.
Applications really small. Take applications that show TV on the device. For an android such a bunch. There is not one. It seems you can find a broadcast on the Internet, but there is nothing optimized for your fingers. As a result, it is not convenient to use. And so on in many other positions: everything is possible, but it is less convenient to use than a specially written application (access to invoices, ordering in a restaurant, downloading films)

Comment
Hold the previous comment. You need to understand why you are buying a tablet on Windows. There are practically no good applications for it. The tablet is good. Was taken as a laptop substitute. Take a trip. To process a photo. Use Microsoft Office. But still it is not that. Although Photoshop works even without brakes, it is simply impossible to use it on such a small screen with your fingers. To solve, I bought a bluetooth mouse. It works great in a pair, but it is sometimes annoying to strain your eyes excessively. With office applications easier. I don't even use a mouse here anymore. Only the keyboard pops up on the floor of the screen. Have to constantly move it. After a couple of months of use, I noticed a non-fading point on the screen. I did not notice when it appeared and was there originally. Not much catches the eye. But, a little sad. In the first month of use there were problems with the speaker. With a low level of sound from it came the sound of a squeaky-crunchy plate. After disappeared with fresh updates. A couple of times hard hanging. Several cases on the unlock screen when switching to camera mode and just when unlocking. And a couple of times he turned off for no apparent reason. Regularly put all the updates of Windows and Lenovo. After certain updates, the problems stopped. The tablet is generally satisfied. Although I think it's better to wait a little with the purchase. The price tag on it is tall. Perhaps a little bit brought down the price of tablets of the 9th series.

For work - an excellent choice, but if you type or console input without a keyboard is stressful.
For games and entertainment look in the direction of Android - tablets.
