12 best cordless drills
Modern lithium-ion batteries make it possible to achieve characteristics from the battery tool that are in no way inferior to the network one, and their charging time does not force them to take long breaks when the second battery is already “zero”, and the first one has not yet fully charged. Therefore, thinking about buying a drill or a screwdriver home, as the most universal tool of such a plan, would you look at the battery-powered models right away? The benefit of this will provide an opportunity to save on other purchases in the future, choosing a tool from the same company that can use existing batteries.
Although there is still a tool on nickel-cadmium batteries in stores, we will not include such models in today's rating of the best screwdrivers: now even lithium-ion batteries are quite affordable, so the issue of finance is not critical here. But the difference in performance is already very noticeable.

This drill-screwdriver does not look very interesting, but everything you need is there. The two-stage gearbox allows it to drill normally with thin drills - many “state employees” do not have to switch speeds, and they have to drill at low revs. At the same time, torque at first speed is good - 35 newton meters. It is regrettable that the choice of batteries is low voltage (10.8 V) and a small capacity (2 Ah). On the other hand, with more powerful batteries, the price would be higher and tangible. The grip of the handle is not bad. True, the manufacturer would be worth putting a rubber pad and in front, it would be more convenient, and the hold would be safer. The chuck clamps the drills up to 10 mm in diameter and, surprisingly, is equipped with a lock - this is rare for a cheap tool, and Hitachi seems to have appeared for the first time. Main advantages:

The normal thing for the money, pulls well, the cartridge is flat and with a ratchet. I liked it, and there was no reason to buy it. |
"Our all" budget segment - this, of course, "Interskol". For approximately 5,000 rubles, we are offered not only a two-speed gearbox and 18-volt batteries, but also electronic overload protection. We will not consider a set of drills, which was also put in a case, as a serious merit of Interskol - these drills are not particularly high-quality. True, the choice in the store is worth a closer look. Pay attention to the cartridge - whether it is well tightened, do not beat the cams. With this, Interskol problems were noticed. Alas, the budget is the budget. It is also a pity that the manufacturer decided to equip this model with batteries for only one and a half ampere-hour: this is not so much. Main advantages:

A well-assembled and conveniently sitting Black + Decker could count on a better rating in the ranking of the best drills-screwdrivers, but, alas, he was let down by a single-speed gearbox: he is good as a screwdriver, and the torque of 30 N * m is quite decent. but it’s already worse for them to drill. In addition, it is worth considering that there is no second battery in the kit, so the gap in price with other rating participants is actually less than it seems. But in terms of ease of operation, he is ready to give a head start both to Interskol, and Hitachi - level ergonomics. Main advantages:

The best cordless high torque drill drills

This wagon - this drill-screwdriver is also equipped with a shock coupling, so there is always work for it. Maximum torque here - no less than 115 newton meters. And, if you have a need for a really screwdriver, then Makita will be right in its place. Given the magnitude of the torque, a powerful side handle, worthy of a different mixer, is right on the spot. To the disadvantages of this model, we will unequivocally attribute the dimensions and weight - if you are looking for a tool that is convenient for working with weight with one hand, Makita will be too heavy, and it will be difficult to get to the “narrow” places. But where a good moment is needed, it is enough to switch the gearbox to the first speed and get to work. Main advantages:

In its line, this model is the most powerful - its brushless motor with a nominal value of 820 W allows even in the “soft” mode to output up to 66 newton meters to the spindle. Not all competitors are capable of this and on the limit. The “DeWalt” “hard” mode allows you to get 95 N * m on the spindle - almost a record, which, nevertheless, beat Makita. The gearbox here is three-speed, which the same “Makita” lacks so much, when drilling it is not necessary to sacrifice torque for speed - there are enough speeds both for screws, and for screws, and for drills. The standard keyless chuck is equipped with a lock, automatically brakes when the “trigger” is released, and is able to clamp drills with a diameter of up to 13 mm. Well, everything, as befits a professional tool. The XR series 5-amp battery packs have built-in charge indicators and are quickly charged from the included universal charger, which can work with all DeWALT batteries at 18, 14.4 and 10.8 volts of operating voltage. In a word, and the tool is good, and equipment. But one can not fail to mention that quite often the batteries on the contact pad needless backlash, it may take a little refinement. It seems to be a trifle, but unpleasant for the declared class. Main advantages:

Yes, in this section of the ranking of the best battery drills, the position of the DeWALT position is not so easy to shake. If you do not need a shock mode, but less weight is desirable, then take a look at this model. The cartridge here is located almost at the fist, along with a complete battery for 5 ampere-hours the screwdriver weighs only 1.7 kg, while the maximum torque is all 70 newton meters! It also uses a brushless motor, but with a lower power of 460 watts. The reducer has also become easier - now there is only one “pull all the money” position in it, the second is intended for drilling. But on the compactness of this affected as well as possible. Otherwise, the design of the previous model is repeated here, including the LED backlighting that can switch to a high brightness mode (up to 77 lumens) - for example, if you lose something, then such a lamp will be most welcome. Alas, the battery mounting is similar - there is a backlash in it, this can already be considered a proprietary feature of the DeWALT cordless screwdrivers. Main advantages:

The Bosch cordless drill / driver at maximum torque “hits the heels” of the DeWALT - here you can get up to 63 newton meters on the spindle, and there is also an impact mode for drilling bricks or concrete. And all this for much less money! What is the catch? The answer is obvious - there are no batteries or a charger in this configuration, so if you don’t have any 18-volt Bosch tools, the purchase will be much more expensive. But let's about the good. Bosch does not shame the honor of the professional “blue” series - it’s convenient, economical and reliable enough. Provided and overload protection, and locking the cartridge. Not giving him spontaneously loosen the tightness. Branded overlays “softgrip” are convenient and reduce vibration well - taking into account the presence of a shock mode, this is important. Well, the competitors from DeWALT "Boshi" can show in detail how to properly attach the battery. Main advantages:

What will Metabo offer us? Not much against competitors - the maximum torque here is only 50 newton meters, almost half as much as the DeWALT. However, for most cases of the use of the screwdriver, this is enough with a margin, but for 10 thousand we have in our hands the screwdriver itself, and the case, and the charger, and two batteries. True, the batteries are small - for two ampere hours, to the convenience of working on weight is a plus, but for autonomy, more weighty "fives" would not hurt. Nevertheless, the screwdriver turned out to be successful - it sits in the hand, and the cartridge is of high quality, and you can not use it at all with the bits: the hexagonal socket is made in the spindle itself. The best compact drills on batteries
This “baby” is good both in terms of equipment and capabilities, and the quality here corresponds to what you expect from the professional Bosch series. A 10-millimeter drill chuck clamping the drill firmly and a torque of 30 newton meters will be larger than that of many “conventional” screwdrivers. A durable case will give more than once a reason to thank the creators - it calmly endures strikes and falls. Well, the fact that they managed to fit a two-stage gearbox here is just fine - and it is convenient to drill and tighten the screws. And, although one and a half ampere-hours of standard batteries are not very much, they charge very quickly, so there will be no downtime. Main advantages:

Everywhere it crawls, the weight is scanty - the thing is, if you work a lot on weight. |
If you do not need to work with a screwdriver, shift after shift, and regular “flights” to the concrete floor are not planned, then why not save a little? "Green" Bosch is very similar to the "blue", uses the same batteries, but the motor is less powerful. Therefore, the torque at the first speed here is less - 20 N * m. But higher and battery life on a single charge. Here the illumination here was clearly done “to be” - a three-millimetric light-emitting diode peeking out from under the cartridge is not effective. It's a pity: compact cordless drills, screwdrivers, usually take to be selected in hard-to-reach and not particularly illuminated places. Main advantages:

A lightweight (only 880 g) drill-screwdriver uses batteries with an operating voltage of 10.8 V with a capacity of 1.3 Ah. It is convenient when working in hard-to-reach places and on weight, it fits well in the hand, and the two-stage gearbox is definitely useful when drilling. At the first speed, the torque is less than that of the “blue” Bosch, but more than that of the “green”: 24 N * m. However, at the price of "Makita" more expensive than both of them, but the quality of it with the "Bosch" is difficult to argue - alas, the transfer of production of many models in China significantly affects the quality. Therefore, we recommend this model is not for professional practice, but for home use. Main advantages:

It continues our ranking of the best RYOBI R12DD-LL13S cordless drills. This “Chinese” was pleasantly surprised with a metal gearbox: on compact models and in much more reputable brands, they are rare. But Ryobi’s weight also exceeded one kilogram, so in our rating it became the heaviest. In general, the screwdriver is very interesting. A good two-stage gearbox allows you to drill and twist the self-tapping screws, the torque at first speed is 30 N * m. The cartridge has the ability to commit, but the center is not always good. So the store should test it with a small-diameter drill to check if there is a heartbeat. The grip is convenient, especially if you have large brushes - both the shape of the handle and the stiffness of the linings on it are selected correctly. Here, the batteries immediately give out the “Chineseness” of the brand - of course, this is not Ultrafire from Aliexpress, which, with a real capacity of 1.2 A * h, are decorated with loud inscriptions that are 4.2 A * h, or even all 6.8, but sit down Still, a bit too fast, and in terms of speed of aging with the same "Bosch" can not be compared. Not without reason, a full-fledged warranty by the manufacturer is given on the tool, but not on the batteries. Main advantages:

Tyagovity and weight is quite acceptable. Well, the metal gearbox is more reliable than plastic. |
How to choose a cordless drill?
Let's start with battery voltage. With equal power, the lower the voltage, the higher the current: it is still in school. But any battery has a nuance - their capacity depends on the discharge current, in the characteristics it is indicated for a very specific current (usually 1/10 of the numerical value of the capacity). By increasing the current, we simultaneously reduce the capacity, what kind of battery can actually give. Therefore, the higher the voltage, the longer the battery will actually last at full charge, although it looks illogical. Because of this, a professional battery tool is now not uncommon for a battery and 36 volts, and even more: even if they are more expensive, but autonomy is higher. So, if we talk about screwdrivers, then the optimal choice will be 18-volt full-size models, 12 volts (and even more so 10.8) will remain compact.
Gearbox quality for drill-screwdriver is important without doubt. Especially if you are looking for a model with good torque. On compact models, high-strength composites show themselves well, but in a more serious tool there should be only steel. And, of course, instead of bearings in the gearbox should not show up bushings.
Ensure that used in the selected model batteries can be bought separately - if not the same company, then at least compatible in size. Of course, you can, if you wish, sort out a worn out battery - they are usually assembled from high-current “cans” 18650, which are easy to buy. But not everyone will want to mess with it.
Have a good shopping!
