The tread pattern is noticeably reworked here, retaining its pronounced directionality, but reducing the noise level.Strong sidewalls are well tolerated in shock and rubbing, but it cannot be said that at the cost of excessive rigidity: tires for comfort did not disappoint. As befits a directional tire, the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2 is distinguished by an enviable cross: it is a good choice for a car that often has to slide onto a primer. True, I would like to see a shoulder zone in case of getting into a rut more aggressively ... but, in the end, we are now discussing the all-season season, which requires, first of all, stable and predictable behavior in the cold, and not off-road potential in the dirt. Due to the same tread snow (both dry and wet) for tires also does not become a problem, the space between the lamellae is cleared well: it is especially valuable on snow porridge, when clogged grooves with snow several times increases the risk of aquaplaning. Even taking into account the fact that the roads in our country are a conventional concept, the crossovers spend most of the time on asphalt, and here the low noise level of the AT-771 is most welcome. The manufacturer managed to achieve a decent balance between contradictory qualities: on the one hand, such tires should be tough to withstand the weight of the car and resist damage from road "surprises", on the other - to have enough softness so as not to shake the soul out of the driver and passengers. On the go, the car shod with this rubber is reasonably comfortable and does not lose feedback on the steering wheel and brakes. But having moved off the asphalt, it is worth remembering about the underdeveloped tread pattern in the shoulder area: the wheels stubbornly seek to move into a rut, to get out of which is very difficult. On the other hand, if frequent mud assaults are planned, it is more logical to look towards the Mud-Terrain rubber, and not the All-Terrain, because universality always requires sacrifice. Due to the deep main grooves and a network of thin additional tires, it really does a great job with all the obstacles that “almost fat” will meet on its way: it will not be possible to get acquainted with aquaplaning, ram snowdrifts and muddy loam will pass without any problems. Which all season tires should I buy?
Some leaders among seasonal tires (for example, Continental) were not included in the rating of the best all-season tires. This does not mean that these manufacturers do not produce all-season tires or they are bad. They are just less popular due to their very high prices.
First of all (as can be understood from the presented models), all-season tires are relevant for heavy crossovers, off-road vehicles and commercial vehicles: if car willy-nilly has to cling to ice with spikes or winter velcro, then with a large vehicle mass, sufficient adhesion can be developed during the season . If, all the more, to speak about rubber of increased cross-country ability, then its tread grooves work more than a contact patch. For a car, however, safer than a seasonal change of rubber has not yet been invented.
