Top 10 H7 bulbs
Refusal to combine low and high beam in a single lamp for the automotive industry has already become the norm - respectively, and the lamp with H7 base (low beam) became one of the most popular, especially after the introduction of mandatory driving into the traffic rules with daytime running lights. At the same time, buying a new set of lamps, you can think - “And not to buy something brighter? Or maybe these LED lamps? ”
But there is one "but." We cannot allow ourselves to recommend lamps that are incapable of providing normal light distribution in accordance with the norms, we cannot - “not meeting” the shoulder or hitting the face with a counter-flow lamp is simply dangerous. Therefore, not even any “halogen” deserves a purchase, although automotive optics is calculated specifically for their design. LED and xenon lamps deserve the “right to life” only in optics, originally designed for them - and such headlights with lamp base H7 do not physically exist (except for the Chinese car market, hehe). And it is worth it with understandable skepticism to treat lovers to assert, "they say, in my lens headlamps xenon shines as it should!": There is not a trace of such statements on the stand. And on the road with high-quality “halogens”, oddly enough, the illumination of the road easily turns out to be better than with “kolkhoz” xenon - it’s a pity that not everyone still understands this.
And finally, let's not forget about the existence of Article 12.5 in the CAO, which in its third part directly promises deprivation of rights for up to one year for using, including, lamps that do not correspond to the type of optics - and this restriction also includes xenon and LED lamps with H7 base.

Best Standard H7 Halogen Bulbs
Osram Original 64210
190 (blister, 1 pc.)
By purchasing a new car and changing the regular low-beam headlamps on it for the first time, you are very likely to find the inscription Osram on them. And automakers usually try to choose any “side-original” consumables on the principle of “strong middling” - that is, they take it moderately expensive, but it is reliable and works as it should. So, we probably put Osram Original Line lamps in the first place in the ranking of the best lamps in the h7 base: they feel good even at elevated voltages, and they experience shaking on broken roads as they should. Of course, their luminous flux does not strike the imagination, but we did not in vain say that it was a “strong middling”. But the light distribution of these bulbs fits perfectly with the norms, and they are especially good at illuminating the roadside in front of the car in the near zone. Is that at the point of 75R (far side of the roadside) the light is not as good as one would like, but it will become really critical except for those who like to break the speed limit: in all other cases there is enough light, the requirements of the standard are blocked. Reliable dim lights, there is in any store, shine normally - the main headlights do not forget to wipe. |
BOSCH H7 Pure Light
180 (blister, 1 pc.)
The second representative of the "middle class" from the German brand will also fully satisfy the optical stand during the inspection. At the same time, although their luminous flux is slightly weaker than the “Osramovsky” one, the light distribution in the forward direction is more uniform, so it cannot be said that Bosch is particularly inferior to the competitor.
But what is definitely worth noting is the issue with the lamp resource. The fact is that with the release of the Longlife Daytime series (they really "walk" for a long time), Bosch decided to make the Pure Light series an absolute "average", including in terms of service life. For example, the increased voltages of these lamps carry worse than the Osram Original Line - namely, this test shows the expected resource well. Burning of the thread in any case is inevitable, but in more “fleshy”, better carrying extreme voltages (good 12-volt lamps can easily withstand up to 19 volts), the natural aging of the thread is usually slower. Yes, and shaking, they usually endure better. So taking into account the fact that both the price and the light of Osram and Bosch are equal or equal (depending on the store and on the specific headlight, after all), we will give priority to the more reliable lamps. I like these bulbs - the headlights shine as they should, the price is not particularly high. |
Narva Standard H7
200 (blister, 1 pc.)
If you often have to pay increased attention to the right shoulder, the “standard” series of H7 lamps from Narva will be interesting: without failing the requirements for all measurement points, it is here that these lamps shine particularly well. The comparison with Osram involuntarily suggests itself, which showed excellent illumination of the near part of the right shoulder on the 50R point: here Narva has even better “range” (brighter is the light at 75R), but they are slightly worse in luminance lines. So, if Osram is more versatile, then the “Narva” will use the non-illuminated city roads and country road, but not the highway: the most important thing in time is to see the “surprise” running onto the roadway. But the strength of the Narva is in survivability: the H7 lamps turned out to be successful, have a good resource and are at the same level with the rest of the rating with an accuracy of plus or minus 20 rubles depending on the store. Therefore, even at first there was a difficulty, to whom should I give a greater score - to a less distressed Bosch or to a reliable one, but with “character” Narva? We still prefer versatility, but you yourself, of course, can make your choice differently. Main advantages:

Best H7 bulbs with increased luminous flux
Bosch H7 Plus 90
480 (blister, 1 pc.)
Let's face it honestly: the “separation of the spheres”, which was made by Bosch in its line of automotive halogen lamps, although it damaged the “average”, but only emphasized the merits of the “improved” lamps. In general, the old trick of marketers: by proposing a “regular” lamp, you can immediately release an “unusual” one, quite honestly declaring that it is shining, they say, 90% better. True, not in comparison with competitors, but in comparison with their own products: they will not file a lawsuit in court, and they will rush to the right figure from the shop window. Okay, let's get down to business. H7 lamps for cars came out at Bosch really bright, and giving a "tick" light distribution just like a textbook. At the same time, they have enough luminosity margin, so that, unlike “ordinary” H7 lamps, they do not lose the luminance of the strip, improving the luminance of the curb. We will be brief - everything will be seen, and it will be seen well. Another thing is that a set of two such dipped-beam lamps costs as four ordinary and, in general, also quite good ones. Again, thanks to the marketers - after all, we are not buying the usual boring light bulb, but “Plus ninety”! Main advantages:

At night, the dim light lamps work just fine - while the oncoming lights are not blind (with Koito, I was already working on this) |
Osram H7 Night Breaker Unlimited
760 (blister, 1 pc.)
Well, here we are promised even 110% of the world - how not to buy! But, the truth, the price will immediately upset: the lamps are not cheap. And we immediately note that the increase in brightness among them, unfortunately, influenced the resource: they “go” worse than Osram Original. Given this price gap, this is especially sensitive. But what about the light? Here we give them their due, the light of these lamps in the H7 base is really excellent, and if the “original” series emphasized the near part of the curb, but slightly dimmed the lane, then everything was clearly visible with the “night splitters”. They are one of the best in terms of the curb illumination, and they will not leave anything without light on the strip. However, in comparison with the "Bosh" it is worth mentioning that the "Osram" slightly overestimate the oncoming lane: with normal headlamp adjustment, this is not critical, but if you haven’t fixed the optics for a long time or have overloaded the trunk without having an autocorrector ... Therefore, taking into account the price , we put the h7 lamp from Osram at this time only in second place in the rating. Main advantages:

PHILIPS H7 Vision Plus + 60%
400 (blister, 1 pc.)
In terms of lighting the roadside and the lane, these H7 lamps turned out to be outsiders - well, they promised us not 90 or 110 percent gain, but only 60. Nevertheless, the results are also decent, and the light distribution clearly fits into the norms. The most interesting thing is that Vision Plus, being not the most expensive and “heaped up” halogen lamps in the Philips lineup, will actually be the best choice in it: unfortunately, real tests have shown that the same X-treme Vision (where they promise all percent improvement) at a higher price they shine no better, and in terms of lighting the near part of the curb, they even lose a little! At the same time, the absence of unnecessary "casting" of the spiral (and this is a common scourge of "improved" lamps) gives a gain in the resource - this is especially clearly seen against the backdrop of bright, but not particularly tenacious, Nightbreaker Unlimited. I switched from the usual cheap Phillips - yes, there really is a difference, and the price is not particularly terrible. |
Narva H7 Range Power White
860 (pack of 2 pieces)
Despite the blue flask, these h7 lamps shine in an acceptable region of the spectrum. However, the blue of the glass is not an attempt to “fix it for xenon”, as they usually think, but a consequence of the introduction of special additives that filter the UV spectrum to save modern polycarbonate diffusers of headlights. Well, if we, of course, do not speak about frank Chinese slag, not always even certified for public roads: there this color simply hints that oncoming drivers will think of you with these lamps, and nothing more. The dim light lamps shine well, if we talk about brightness “in general,” but, alas, they cannot argue with competitors in definition of light distribution. Yes, and the resource they have is not the most impressive, even by the standards of this segment, where lamps in general cannot boast of any special “vitality”. So the last place in the ranking received according to merit. Main advantages:

Top H7 bulbs with longer life
Bosch H7 Longlife Daytime
300 (blister, 1 pc)
But these lamps in the base of the H7 at the Bosch came out unambiguously successful.Fear initially caused the name itself - whatever one may say, it emphasizes not only “longevity”, but also the calculation for permanent use in the daytime. Have these lamps become resource due to the deterioration of light? In fact, in terms of brightness, they are unlikely to disappoint you - they, of course, are inferior to the “heightened” lamps of the Plus 90 series, but they even manage to be better than the “standard” Pure Light. But their resource is indeed one of the best in comparison with peers from other companies, even in high voltage tests they burn out later than everyone else. Let's pay tribute to the German company - they managed to fit in one lamp and high-quality light, and reliability, and reasonable price. Main advantages:

Osram ultra life
360 (blister, 1 pc.)
So, the manufacturer promises us a lifespan of as much as one hundred thousand kilometers, if during a year the car will drive a little over 14 thousand and turn on the headlights 60% of the time. Nevertheless, the guarantee Osram gives only for 4 years, and then, subject to registration on the site. Hidden in the depths of technical documentation, their service life is less than three times longer compared to the Osram Original H7 - but by the way, according to the author’s experience, they could actually “live” on the family car in just four years. However, unfortunately, the claimed resource in reality will hardly show you a lamp on your car - they won't “put and forget”, on average they “go” one and a half times more than Osram Original. They have about the same price gap, the “luminosity” is comparable. As a result, is it not easier to take “ordinary” lamps in reserve, especially since not one is insured against an accidental failure? Main advantages:

Lamps like lamps. They are doing well, but, to be honest, I am thinking about brighter ones - this is more useful. |
Philips H7 LongLife EcoVision
360 (blister, 1 pc.)
In the Philips catalog for all halogen lamps are provided photos of the lighting of the night road. For everyone except LongLife EcoVision - do you already guess why? Indeed, despite the high service life, they are not impressive just by the light, especially on older cars with a “tired” generator. Associations with the optics of some “penny” involuntarily arise, which miraculously managed to reach us today with Soviet light bulbs in the headlights: the light is clearly yellow, the illumination of the road is unclear. But after all, driving quality directly depends on the quality of lighting - a resource, but I do not want to get into an accident for the sake of economy. Moreover, for the same money there are lamps and with far better light. Main advantages:

How to choose a good low beam bulbs?
Unambiguous "no" when choosing lamps, and not only specifically with the H7 base - these are direct instructions on the package like “for off-road use only” or even less “not for sale in Europe”: in other words, such lamps shine so crookedly that the manufacturer indicates that it is impossible legitimate use on public roads. And, most likely, the light distribution will be violated in the area of the opposite lane.
Lamps with "increased luminosity" may attract the eye with loud promises, but here you need to take into account a few points. With equal electric power, making the glower shine brighter is possible only at the cost of reducing its life, it will burn out faster, and will be more sensitive to shaking. In addition, the proportion of the ultraviolet spectrum will increase, which will not be completely extinguished by the thin glass of the flask - this will accelerate the aging of the plastic diffuser. And you still need to ensure the correct geometry of the lamp (in the first place - the location of the thread relative to the base), otherwise it will not achieve the correct distribution of light in the car headlight. Far from all manufacturers of automotive lamps is able to fully.
If power indicated on packageis different from the standard for the H7 55 W, then you should still look at another lamp: overheating of the wiring and the headlight itself, burning of the contacts in the connector are already familiar things for those who like “experiments”, sometimes it was seen, and how the lamp “flows” like a Dali clock inside the headlamp. And it would be for the sake of which: such lamps often shine even worse than “ordinary” ones.
Enjoy the shopping!
